Portable Storage Device A large capacity of 10GB (iHP-100)/ 15GB (iHP-115) can be used as a storage device. USB 2.0 is supported iHP-100 Series supports USB 2.0 with maximum transfer speed of 480 Mbit/Sec. Multi-Codec Player Supports MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV formats as a multi-Codec player. iHP-100 Series supports WAV type of 11/22/44KHz, 16bit, Mono/Stereo. Firmware Upgrade Provides the latest updated features via firmware upgrade. Player features such as add on, modification, and continuous improvement of the player are always provided. Graphic LCD supporting Multiple Languages iHP-100 Series comes with a graphic LCD which can support multiple languages, including: English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, other alphabet-oriented fonts, Korean, Japanese (Katakana, Hiragana, Kanji), Chinese (Traditional, Simplified) and others. A total of 38 languages are supported. FM Tuner Auto scanning and frequency memory function make it easy for you to enjoy listening to the FM Radio. This player supports 6 Equalizer Patterns. Normal, Rock, Jazz, Classic, Ultra Bass, User EQ Easy Navigation The simple navigation with tree configuration makes it easy to find or save any song. The player can recognize up to 1000 folders and 5000 files. Graphic User Interface Menu Support Voice recording and recording (Line-In/Optical In) from an external audio equipment is supported. Using AC POWER ADAPTER
Use only the AC Power Adapter supplied with the player. The AC operating voltage of this player is 100~240V, 50~60Hz. Connect the adapter to the 5.0V DC jack on the player and into an AC outlet.
To install "Program"
Windows ME, Windows 2000 and Windows XP have the program to support USB 2.0 Storage Device, and you can use this player without any program installation. Install the iRiver iHP Manager to use the Database Function. Windows 98 SE require the iRiver iHP Manager to be installed. Insert the Installation CD into the CD-ROM drive. Execute "iHP100Manager iHP Manager. exe" on the CD-ROM The installation screen is appeared. Click OK" to install the installation program.
Enter user information, click "Next".
Select installation folder, click "Next".
Recharging Method
Rechargeable function can automatically be activated while the AC adapter is connected to the player. When fully charged, charge indicator light turns off. Charging : Approx. 3 hours (At full discharge) Discharging (Playback time) : Approx. 16 hours (At full charge) The playback time is measured in case of 128 Kbps MP3 file playback.
Select installation type (Typical, Minimal, or Custom), click "Next".
Installation is progressing.

Click "Finish". The installation is completed.
To install the iHP-100 Series Device Driver
This processing must be done after installing the iHP-100 Series Manager Program. If the player is recognized on your PC, "Add New Hardware Wizard" is activated. Click "Next". Chose "Search for the best driver for your device (Recommended)." Click Next.
To connect the iHP-100 Series to the Host PC
Click to turn on the player.
Connect the USB cable to the player and the PC to recognize the correct information after Host PC is operated.

Place a checkmark next to "Specify a location" and click Browse.
Locate the following path on your computer. C:\Program Files\ iRiver\iHP 100\drivers, click "OK".

Windows XP and Windows 2000 will display a "Device Attached" icon. Windows may ask to install a driver for the iHP driver. Please follow the provided driver installation guide on the following page.
Once the path has been located, Click "Next".

The new icon is not created additionally when connecting the player to the PC with another external equipment is connected to the PC according to the O.S.
Once installed, open Windows Explorer and an additional drive should be listed called 'iHP 100'.
Click "Finish" Completed the installation of "Device Driver".

To use as a portable storage device
If the player is not connected to the host PC, connect it to the host PC. (Refer to page 10) Check the icon of the player on the PC window and confirm whether the player is added as a new drive in Windows Explorer. Click and Drag files from the PC to the iHP player.
To disconnect the player from the Host PC
Click the 'Safely Remove Hardware" icon in the System Tray.
Click "Stop iRiver iHP-100-Driver(X)" or "Safely Remove TOSHIBA MK1 3GAL USB Disk Drive(X:)". (Where X is the drive letter assigned to the iHP-100 Series)
To delete files or folders from the iHP-100 Series, select the files (folders) to be deleted and press "Delete" on the keyboard. Click "Yes" when asked to confirm the delete.
Click OK after confirming the "Safe To Remove Hardware" massage.
The iHP-100 Series operates just like an additional hard drive in Windows Explorer. Files can be copied, deleted, etc. Note When the iHP-100 Series is attached to a computer for an extended period of time, be sure to plug in the AC adapter. Low batteries can prevent the proper functioning of the iHP-100 Series.
Disconnect the USB cable between the iHP-100 Series and host PC.
Caution While accessing the iHP-100 Series drive on the explore or media player, the player may not be removed from the PC safely. Remove safely the player after closing the running application programs. And the player may not be removed from the PC safely according to the internal comunication of the O.S (Windows XP, etc.). In this case, retry it after a few minutes. The tray icon on the O.S as like Windows XP, etc. may be hidden. Click the hidden icon indication on buton to display the icon in the tray.
