Important Safety Information
It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. These warnings have been provided in the interest of safety.You MUST read them carefully before installing or using the appliance. If you are unsure of the meanings of these warnings contact the John Lewis branch from which you purchased the appliance.
Installation
· Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. · This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it. · It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way. · Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable. Important: if the supply cable is damaged, please contact our extended warranty administrators who will put you in touch with your local Service Force Repair Centre for further advice. · Parts which heat up should not be exposed. Whenever possible, the back of the appliance should be close to a wall but leaving the required distance for ventilation as stated in the installation instructions. · The appliance should be left for 2 hours after installation before it is turned on, in order to allow the refrigerant to settle.
Use
· This appliance is designed for domestic use only, specifically for the storage of edible foodstuffs. · Frozen food must NOT be re-frozen once it has thawed out. · Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer. · Do not remove items from the freezer if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns. · Ice lollies can cause `frost/freezer burns' if consumed straight from the freezer. · Manufacturers' storage recommendations should be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions. · The cooling plate or refrigerated freezer shelves in this appliance contain channels through which the refrigerant passes. If these are punctured this will cause substantial damage to the appliance and result in food loss. DO NOT USE SHARP INSTRUMENTS to scrape off frost or ice. Under NO circumstances should solid ice be forced off the lining or shelves. Solid ice should be allowed to thaw, when defrosting the appliance. See Defrost Instructions.
Child Safety
· This refrigerator is designed to be operated by adults. Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the product. · Keep all packaging well away from children.
General Safety
· This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its cooling unit; maintenance and recharging must therefore only be carried out by authorised technicians. · Take utmost care when handling your appliance so as not to cause any damages to the cooling unit with consequent possible fluid leakages. · The appliance must not be located close to cookers, radiators or boilers. · Avoid prolonged exposure of the appliance to direct sunlight. · Do not use other electrical appliances (such as ice cream makers) inside of refrigerating appliances.

Maintenance and Cleaning
· Switch off and unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work.
Service
· This product should be serviced by an authorised engineer and only genuine spare parts should be used.
Environmental Information
· · When disposing of your appliance, use an authorised disposal site. Remove the plug and ensure that any locks or catches are removed, to prevent young children being trapped inside. The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. The manufacturer declines any liability should this safety measure not be observed. If the plug that is fitted to your appliance is not suitable for your socket outlet, it must be cut off and the appropriate plug fitted. Remove the fuse from the cut off plug. The cut off plug should then be disposed of to prevent the hazard of shocks in case it should be plugged into a 13amp socket in another part of your home. 1. Connect the Green and Yellow (earth) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «E» or the earth symbol yellow. or coloured green and
2. Connect the blue (neutral) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «N» or coloured black. 3. Connect the brown (live) wire to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter «L» or coloured red. 4. Upon completion there must be no cut, or stray strands of wire present and the cord clamp must be secure over the outer sheath.The plug moulded onto the lead incorporates a fuse. For replacement, use a 13amp BSI362 fuse. Only ASTA or BSI approved fuses should be used. The plug must not be used if the fuse cover/carrier is lost.The cover/carrier is indicated by the coloured insert at the base of the plug. A replacement cover/carrier must be obtained from your local Service Force Centre.
If you fit your own plug, the colours of the wires in the mains lead of your appliance may not correspond with the markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

Important Warning
IF YOU ARE DISCARDING AN OLD APPLIANCE THAT HAS A LOCK OR CATCH ON THE DOOR, YOU MUST ENSURE THAT IT IS MADE UNUSABLE TO PREVENT YOUNG CHILDREN BEING TRAPPED INSIDE. Depending upon the position which you choose for your appliance, you may wish to reverse the way in which the door opens.To do this, refer to instructions on "Door reversal directions".
It must be possible to disconnect the appliance from the mains power supply; the plug must therefore be easily accessible after installation.
Positioning
This appliance should only be installed at a location where the ambient temperature corresponds to the climate classification indicated on the rating plate, which is located at the left on the inside of the appliance. The following table shows which ambient temperature is correct for each climate classification: SN N ST T +10°C to + 32°C +16°C to + 32°C +18°C to + 38°C +18°C to + 43°C
It should be located in a dry atmosphere, out of direct sunlight and away from extreme temperature e.g. not next to a boiler or radiator, or in a very cold room e.g. an outhouse . If these temperatures are exceeded i.e. colder or warmer, then the appliance may not operate correctly. For building-in and door reversibility, if necessary , refer to the relevant instructions in the following pages.

Door Reversal
To reverse the opening direction of the door, proceed as shown in the figures:

Warning After completion of the door reversing operation, check that the door gasket adheres to the cabinet. If the ambient temperature is cold (i.e. in Winter), the gasket may not fit perfectly to the cabinet. In that case, wait for the natural fitting of the gasket or accelerate this process by heating up the part involved with a normal hairdryer on a low setting.

Building In
Before carrying out any work, remove the plug from the power socket.
Building in the appliance under a worktop
The dimensions of the recessed installation area must correspond with those indicated in the figure.
Grid preparation
Left door opening: Remove the left side (A) of the grid cutting it from the rear (see figure).

Right door opening: Remove the right side (B) of the grid cutting it from the rear (see figure). To position the grid on the appliance proceed as follows: Apply the grid to the base of the appliance by pushing on to the clasps (a) until they click.

1. Two cabinet securing brackets are supplied with the installation pack.They need to be assembled onto the cabinet prior to cabinet being pushed into the Kitchen aperture. - To fit these brackets remove the two screws at the top left and right hand front corners of the cabinet. - Position the two brackets as shown in the figure and replace the two securing screws.

2. Push the appliance into place.The plug socket necessary for connection of the appliance to the electricity supply should be positioned, so that the plug is not placed in the recess. 3. To adjust the height proceed as follows: - Loosen or tighten the two front feet. - The rear feet are adjusted by turning the screw in the front kick plate to the left or right.
4. The joint cover (B) is to be assembled after having installed the appliance in the recess.

5. Screw appliance into place and retain the cabinet with screws (I) through the securing brackets into the worktop or adjacent woodwork as necessary.
If necessary, pads (E) are supplied for the rear feet to make sliding the appliance in and out of the recess easier.To fit the pads, press them onto the rear feet. If required, the dimensions of these pads can be reduced by breaking them where marked.

Important For the efficient operation of the appliance, it is important that the original ventilation grid is used. · For an opening height dimension A=820 mm and a plinth height dimension a=100 mm, the plinth may be fitted without adjustments.The same applies to an opening height dimension B=870 mm and a plinth height dimension b=150 mm. · For plinth heights greater than a=100 mm, b=150 mm, a cut should be made in the plinth, 580 mm wide, in the centre of the appliance position, leaving a remaining height of a=100 ...
