Safety Information Before using the camera, please ensure that you read and understand the safety precautions described below. Always ensure that the camera is operated correctly. · · · Never operate the camera inside of an aircraft or anywhere else where operation of such devices is restricted. Improper use creates the risk of serious accident. Do not aim the camera directly into the sun or other intense light sources which could damage your eyesight. PHOTOGRAPHY Use this mode to take a single image each time the [Shutter] button is pressed. BURST Use this mode to take up to five images when the [Shutter] button is pressed. PLAYBACK Use this mode to view the images/ video clips. Thumbnail display, delete or set DPOF recorded images is available. Open the battery chamber cover. 2. Insert batteries in correct polarity (+ and -) as shown on the inside of the battery chamber. 3. Close the battery chamber cover. 4. Power turns ON after pressing the [Power] button. 5. The camera is now ready to take pictures. Turning the Power ON/OFF 1. Press the [Power] button to power on the camera. 2. To turn camera OFF press [Power] button until the camera beeps and the LCD screen is blank. 3. To turn camera ON from the OFF mode, press [Power] button until a beep is heard and the LCD screen turn on. Sleep Mode 1. In the " 2. Use [ ][ ][ Setup" mode. ][ ][ ] button to select " Auto Power Off", and press [Set] button. 3. Use [ ][ ][ ] button to select the setting you want , and press [Set] button. When the camera is ON while not being used for 1 minute, it will automatically perform sleep mode to save battery power. 1 minute 10 minutes When the camera is ON while not being used for 10 minutes, it will automatically perform sleep mode to save battery power. 20 minutes When the camera is ON while not being used for 20 minutes, it will automatically perform sleep mode to save battery power. OFF The camera will not turn OFF automatically. To re-activate the camera from sleep mode: 1. Press the [Power] button once. 2. The camera is ready to take the next picture. 13 Set Up Mode Startup Screen (Default: Default Screen ) You can select your favorite picture which you taken and saved in the camera. 1. In the " 2. When red-eye reduction is selected as the flash mode, the camera performs 16 two pre-flash operations, one designed to cause the irises in the eyes of any people in the image to close, and one for the Auto Focus operation. This is followed by another flash operation for actual recording of the image. Set Up Mode Exposure Compensation (EV Shift) Adjust the exposure compensation setting to compensate for certain light conditions including: backlighting, indirect indoor lighting, and dark backgrounds. To cancel EV Shift, adjust the value until it becomes 0.0. 1. Use [ ][ ] to adjust the value what you want you want. Video clips can be play back by high-speed and slow play back using UP and DOWN button, or paused using the SET button. Press the [Set] button again to stop playback. To press the [Set] button for 3 seconds can return thumbnail screen. 20 DPOF Print DPOF Print (Digital Print Order Format) The letters "DPOF" stand for "Digital Print Order Format", which is a format for recording on a memory card or other medium which digital camera images should be printed and how many copies of the image should be printed. Then you can print on a DPOF-compatible printer or at a professional print service in accordance with the file name and number of copies settings recorded on the card. With this camera, you should always select images by viewing them on the monitor screen. Do not specify images by file name without viewing the file contents. DPOF Settings 1. In the " 2. Use [ 3. Introduction screen will appear automatically. 4. Click "ArcSoft PhotoImpression 4.0". 5. Follow on-screen instruction to install camera drivers. 6. Re-starting your computer is recommended. Follow on-screen instruction to uninstall software. 27 Download Photos Using a Memory Card to Transfer Images to a Computer The procedures in this section describe how to transfer images from the camera to your computer using a memory card. Using a Computer with a Built-in SD Memory Card Slot Insert the SD memory card directly into the slot. Using a Computer with a Built-in PC Card Slot Use a commercially available PC card adapter (for an SD memory card/ MMC). For full details, see the user documentation that comes with the PC card adapter and your computer. Using a Commercially Available SD Memory Card Reader/Writer See the user documentation that comes with the SD memory card reader/ writer for details about how to use it. Using a Commercially Available PC Card Reader/ Writer and PC Card Adapter (for SD Memory Cards and MMC) See the user documentation that comes with the PC card reader/ writer and PC card adapter (for an SD memory card/MMC) for details about how to use them. 28 Download Photos Transferring Record Photos/ Video to Your Computer Connecting To PC Step 1. Turn the camera on, and then connect your camera to a computer via USB cable. Step 2. In Windows (98SE/ME/2000/XP), your PC will detect the camera after connection. NOTE For Windows 98SE users please install the installation CD first. For Windows XP For Windows Me/2000 Step 3. Double click My Computer on the desktop. Step 4. A removable disk drive appears. For Windows XP For windows 98SE/Me/2000 Step 5. Double click on the removable disk. Step 6. Double click on the DCIM folder. WARNING Please do not copy any files into the DCIM folder of your camera. Your camera may become unstable or crash. Step 7. You can now drag-and-drop files to your PC. 29 Download Photos Downloading Photo Using PhotoImpression 4.0 As a USB Mass Storage Device, with the camera connected, its memory will simply appear as a disk drive to the host computer. Any files can be copied to and from the camera's memory, just like any other file on any other disk drive. For Windows 98SE user, please go to Microsoft www.microsoft.com to update Windows for Mass Storage Function Support. Turn on the camera and connect with USB cable, the camera will set at "Mass Storage" mode. 1. Click "PhotoImpression 4.0" icon on desktop. 2. PhotoImpression 4.0 introduction screen will appear. 3. Click "From Folder" button. 4. Click "Browse". 5. Click "D:\ or G:\ (Mass Storage Disk) DCIM" and OK. 6. Use editing tools available on-screen to modify image(s). 30 Download Photos Photo and Sharing Management Using PhotoBase 3.0 1. Click "PhotoBase 3.0" icon on desktop. 2. PhotoBase 3.0 introduction screen will appear. 3. Open Album menu bar. 4. Select "Create New" and enter file name. 5. Open Album menu bar and select "Add Image". 6. Save the pictures to your computer. 7. Share and manage your pictures. 31 Video Playback Video Playback Using VideoImpression 1.6 1.
