NEVER recharge batteries of other types or non-rechargable batteries. These are not suitable for recharging. Batteries not suitable for rapid recharging could overheat and explode. This could irreparably damage the Rapid Battery Charger and the inserted batteries. Should water permeate into the Universal Battery Charger, the appliance could be irreparably damaged. · Remove the power cable from the plug socket before cleaning the Rapid Battery Charger. You can thus avoid an electric shock. Should water or moisture permeate into the Rapid Battery Charger despite observing all precautions, immediately remove the power cable from the plug socket. Injury hazard! · Always store batteries out of the reach of children! There is a danger that children could swallow batteries! Then allow the batteries to cool down before removing them from the Rapid Battery Charger. · The Rapid Battery Charger, the supplied power adapter and the vehicle-adapter do not contain any user-serviceable components. Should the housing of these appliances (Rapid Battery Charger / Power adapter) be opened, the warranty expires! If repairs are needed, contact one of our service partners in your area. Note: Also ensure that all possible soiling (e.g. remains of ash) is removed from the inside of the cigar lighter socket! Otherwise, it could lead to a malfunction in the operation of the Rapid Battery Charger with the vehicle-adapter ² ! · Insert the low-tension plug of the vehicle-adapter ² into the power adapter connection ³ of the Rapid Battery Charger. · Insert the vehicle-adapter ² into the cigar-lighter socket. Under strong sunlight, and with a correspondingly heated vehicle interior, the Rapid Battery Charger could overheat and be irreparably damaged. Additionally, the batteries could overheat and explode. There is also a danger of fire! Note: It is possible that the cigar-lighter only functions with a switchedon vehicle ignition. If you are unsure, consult the vehicle handbook. Caution! For vehicles in which the cigar lighter resp. on-board power sockets also function with a switched-off vehicle ignition: Only use the Rapid Battery Charger with the engine running. It is possible to charge from one to four individual batteries. Note: Ensure that the batteries are inserted into the charging slots in accordance with their polarities. Otherwise, the batteries will not be charged. · The charging process now begins. The Rapid Battery Charger has a control lamp · for each cell in the charging slots ». The control lamps · show the charging condition of the individual batteries. The various displays have the following meanings: · The control lamp · blinks fast: - Checking the inserted batteries. - Full and non-rechargable batteries are recognised. Warning! The batteries will become hot during charging. NEVER touch hot batteries! To do this, connect a different, functioning electrical appliance to the socket. With operation over the vehicle-adapter: · Check to see if the vehicle-adapter ² is correctly connected to the Rapid Battery Charger and the cigar-lighter socket. · It is possible that the cigar-lighter only functions with a switched-on vehicle ignition.
