Read these instructions thoroughly before using the functions. For instructions on using the machine itself and for general safety precautions, refer to the manual provided with the machine. The following software and hardware system environment is required for PC scanning: - OS: Windows 98 SE, Windows Me, Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows Server 2003 - TWAIN-compatible image-processing software (such as, Adobe Photoshop) - USB V.1.1 (or later version) TWAIN Driver 2-3 2 Setting up PC scanning 2-4 TWAIN Driver 3 Connecting to the machine Connecting to the machine 3 3 Connecting to the machine Connecting to the USB port of the machine 7 CAUTION Use of an unshielded cable may result in radio interference. % Be sure to use a shielded USB cable. 1 2 Make sure that the machine and the computer to be connected to the machine are turned OFF. Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port of the machine. This completes the connection.
