E 1 IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS · · · · · · Read these instructions. Keep these instructions. Heed all warnings. Follow all instructions. Do not use this apparatus near water. Mains powered apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the apparatus. Clean only with dry cloth. Do not block any ventilation openings, install in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or groundingtype plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding type plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong are provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet. (for U.S.A. and Canada) Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point where they exit from the apparatus. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer. Unplug this apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus, the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped. Do not install this equipment on the far position from wall outlet and/or convenience receptacle. Do not install this equipment in a confined space such as a box for the conveyance or similar unit. In particular, you must never move this device or apply physical shock while the power is turned on. This can cause part or all of the data on disk to be lost, or may damage the hard disk or interior components. When this device is moved to a location where the temperature is radically different, water droplets may condense on the hard disk. If the device is used in this condition, it may malfunction, so please allow several hours to pass before operating the device. Do not turn the power on and off repeatedly. This may damage the D1600mkII. This device begins to access the hard disk immediately after the power is turned on. Never turn off the power while the HDD access indicator is lit or blinking. Doing so can cause all or part of the data on hard disk to be lost, or may cause malfunctions such as hard disk damage. If the hard disk has been damaged due to incorrect operation, power failure, or accidental interruption of the power supply, a fee may be charged for replacement even if this device is still within its warranty period. This product has been designed and manufactured according to FDA regulations "title 21. CFR. chapter 1, subchapter J. based on the radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968," and is classified as a class 1 laser product. There is no hazardous invisible laser radiation during operation because invisible laser radiation emitted inside of this product is completely confined in the protective housings.
