Slide Bolt Lock Installation
Slide Bolt Slide Bolt Lock Screw
Extend the passive screen until the magnet is centered in the entryway opening. Position a slide bolt lock onto the bottom rail, aligned with the slide bolt. Drill 3/32" pilot hole into the bottom rail and secure with a screw. Repeat for the top slide bolt lock.
Care and Maintenance
Clean the screen occasionally with mild soap and water. Vacuum the bottom rail periodically to remove debris. A little care will help insure smooth, gentle operation of your UltraBreeze Retractable Screen.
Trouble Shooting Guide
Problem Cassette will not secure into mounting clips. Threshold has a steep slope and bottom guide is at an angle, or does not lay flat. Handles and/or slide bolts will not glide easily in tracks. Handle on screen interferes with primary door hardware. Screen is difficult to pull across the opening. Solution Insert back corner of cassette into the mounting clip, then rotate the cassette into the front of the mounting clip to lock in place. Verify the bottom rail is level. Secure wedges or shims under the bottom rail as necessary to hold level. Lubricate the groove with silicone spray. Verify the shorter handle is installed on the inside track. Raise or lower the inside handle as necessary. Verify the rounded profile of the cassette faces out (visible from the outside). Verify the cassette has a 90 degree cut. Trim or file as necessary. Verify screws in top and bottom rail are flush with the track. Check for and clean debris in bottom rail. On double screen units, verify the slide bolt strikes are installed properly and not interfering with top and bottom rails. See solutions above. Verify brush pile in the top or bottom tracks are not binding. Crimp the track or shorten the brush pile as necessary. Adjust the number of turns on the screen winding. You will need to remove the assembly, and unattach the spring assembly (step 6) Caution - hold onto the end cap tightly as it is under tension and will unwind. Turn the end cap a few turns to suit your needs. Clockwise to tighten tension and speed up screen or counterclockwise to loosen tension and slow down screen. Verify height measurement. If unit was cut short, use shims on the bottom as necessary. Verify the unit is plumb and level and the opening is square. Shim as necessary. Replace the cassette through Larson Manufacturing or local store. Note, you will need the model, size and color or your system. Crimp the ends of the channels on the top and/or bottom rail to lock the brush pile in place.
Screen binds or will not retract into the cassette properly.
Screen retracts too fast or too slow.
Screen falls out of the top guide.
Screen is torn. Brush pile moves in the top or bottom rail. Page 4
