Electrical energy can perform many useful functions. This unit has been engineered and manufactured to assure your personal safety. Improper use can result in potential electrical shock or fire hazards. In order not to defeat the safeguards, observe the following basic rules for its installation, use and servicing.

8. Carts and Stands The product should be used only with a cart or stand that is recommended by the manufacturer. 8A. A product and cart combination should be moved with care. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the product and cart combination to overturn. 9. Ventilation Slots and openings in the cabinet are provided for ventilation and to ensure reliable operation of the product and to protect it from overheating, and these openings must not be blocked or covered. The openings should never be blocked by placing the product on a bed, sofa, rug, or other similar surface. This product should not be placed in a built-in installation such as a bookcase or rack unless proper ventilation is provided or the manufacturer's instructions have been adhered to. 10. Power Sources This product should be operated only from the type of power source indicated on the marking label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your product dealer or local power company. Outdoor Antenna Grounding If an outside antenna or cable system is connected to the product, be sure the antenna or cable system is grounded so as to provide some protection against voltage surges and built up static charges. Article 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, provides information with regard to proper grounding of the mast and supporting structure, grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit, size of grounding conductors, location of antenna-discharge unit, connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the grounding electrode. See Figure 131.1. 14. Lightning For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to the product due to lightning and power-line surges. 15. Power Lines An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal. 16. Overloading Do not overload wall outlets, extension cords, or integral convenience receptacles as this can result in a risk of fire or electric shock. 17. Object and Liquid Entry Never push objects of any kind into this product through openings as they may touch dangerous voltage points or short-out parts that could result in a fire or electric shock. Never spill liquid of any kind on the product. 18. Servicing Do not attempt to service this product yourself as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage or other hazards. Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel.

Damage Requiring Service Unplug this product from the wall outlet and refer servicing to qualified service person under the following conditions: a) When the power-supply cord or plug is damaged, b) If liquid has been spilled, or objects have fallen into the product, c) If the product has been exposed to rain or water, d) If the product does not operate normally by following the operating instructions. Precautions
On Safety
Do not use wet hands to pull out the plug. It may cause electrical shock. If the unit does not work, please pull out the plug for safety. Contact us for further technical support. Before moving the unit, please make sure the power adapter is disconnected from the wall outlet. Do not move the unit when playing. It may cause a fire or electrical shock. Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug the unit and have it checked by qualified personnel before operating it any further. If you are not going to use the unit for a long while, be sure to disconnect the player from the wall outlet. To disconnect the power adapter, grasp the plug itself; never pull the cord.
On Operation
The unit may not work because of improper operation. The limited warranty does not cover consequent losses that rise from improper usage. Turn off the unit when you are watching regular TV program. It may cause a picture distortion. The unit will not work correctly when affected by exterior elements such as static electricity. In such cases, pull out the power adapter and plug it back to the outlet again.
On Placement
Please keep a sufficient distance between the player and a radio set. A sufficient distance is also needed between the unit and any other devices with electromagnetic field. Please place the unit in a location with adequate ventilation to prevent heat build-up in the unit. Do not place the unit on a soft surface such as a rug that might block the ventilation holes on the bottom. Do not place the unit in a location near heat sources, or in places subject to direct sunlight, excessive dust, or mechanical shock. Do not place the unit in a location exposed to cool air. Condensation may occur and cause the unit work incorrectly.

The Remote Control

Installing the Battery of the remote control
Pull the tab in first time use. When the power of battery is exhaustible , please replace new battery. Install the battery : Insert the CR2025 type battery (3V) in the battery compartment ( the polarity "" on top) then push the battery compartment into the remote control.
Do not :
place near or expose to flame. take apart or short circuit. attempt to recharge alkaline or manganese battery. use battery if the covering has been peeled off. Mishandling of battery can cause electrolyte leakage which can damage items and may cause a fire. If electrolyte leaks from the battery , consult your dealer. Wash thoroughly with water if electrolyte comes in contact with any part of your body. Remove Battery if the remote control is not going to be used for a long period of time. Store in a cool, dark place. Replace Battery if the unit does not respond to the remote control even when held close to the front panel.
Use of the remote control
Aim at the sensor, avoiding obstacles, at a maximum range of 7 m (23 feet) 45° directly in front of the unit. Keep the transmission window and the unit's sensor free from dust. Operation can be affected by strong light sources, such as direct sunlight, and the glass doors on cabinets.

put heavy objects on the remote control. take the remote control apart. spill liquids onto the remote control.

Quick Start and Basic Connection
Before operating the unit in the first time, please make sure the unit's AC power corresponds to local AC voltage. Insert the plug of the included AC power cord firmly into the power socket on the rear panel, then insert other plug of the AC power cord into a wall AC outlet. *Note : For safety, only use the included AC power cord to operation

Power on and Standby operation
Press the POWER button on the front panel or the remote control to do power on or standby operation. (see Fig 1) When the unit is in standby mode, the clock display on LCD and turn off the backlight. After power on operation, you can press the FUNCTION button to select source you want. There are six sources in this unit. They are TUNER(RADIO), CD, USB flash disk(UDISK), SD/MMC, iPod, and AUX. Setting the Clock
Set the clock of the unit in the first time. You can set the clock in any time. 1. Press the MENU button. The LCD will show CLOCK. 2. Press the SEL button to enter clock detailed setting. 3. Press the NEXT button and the PREV button to adjust the minute. 4. Press the SEL button to confirm the minute setting. 5. Press the NEXT button and the PREV button to adjust the second. 6. Press the SEL button to confirm the second setting and exit.

Quick Start and Basic Connection
Connect the FM antenna The AC power cord is the unit's main FM antenna. Please pull the AC power cord to straight line for better reception. Set the FM antenna switch on the rear panel of the unit to INT (internal) position. You can also use the external FM antenna instead of the internal antenna. Set the FM antenna switch to EXT (external) position. Please pull the wire antenna to straight line for better reception. (see Fig. 3)

Basic Connection
Connecting other external audio device
Aux Input You can listen to the sound from external audio device ( Example: DVD player and CD player ) by connecting to auxiliary input of this unit. The unit has two auxiliary inputs. You can connect external audio device to AUX IN on the real panel or on the front panel. (see Fig. 4 and 5) Press the FUNCTION button on the front panel or the remote control to select AUX. (see Fig. 6)

Aux output You may want to output the sound to another machine ( Example : PC or others audio device) as audio source. Connect the audio cable (included) into AUX OUT on rear panel. (see Fig 7) When you output the sound, please adjust the volume for better sound effect.

Radio Operation
Listening the radio stations
Press the FUNCTION button to select radio (tuner) function. Pressing the BAND button selects the FM radio band and AM radio band. (see Fig 8) )to Press the NEXT/PREV button ( / find a specific frequency manually tune one step frequency at a time. Press and hold NEXT/PREV button ( / ) to automatically search the next clear station (the PREV button ( ) search down, the NEXT button( ) search up). (See Fig. 9) You can store twenty FM stations and twenty AM stations in the preset bank. Tune to your favorite radio station, press the MEMORY button to enter station memory session. By using the P+ and P- to choose the preset bank which you want, then press the MEMORY button again to memory this station. After the store session, pressing the preset button 0-9 will recall the stored stations. Example: th If you want to recall the 16 preset station, press the 1 button and 6 button. RBDS, standing for the Radio Broadcast data system, adding a basic data and text service to FM radio. Along with the audio, small amounts of text and data are transmitted with the radio signal, and can be picked up and processed by radios have an RBDS decode built-in. Such radio receivers can display this information. In this unit, The station name (PS), PTY, frequency and clock time(CT) can be displayed.

Starting CD mode Press the FUNCTION button repeatedly to select CD mode for CD playback. If the unit isn't in CD mode, you also can directly insert a CD disc into the CD slot to automatically select CD mode and playback. Basic CD operation Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to toggle play and pause operation. (See Fig. 10) Press the STOP button for stopping playback. Press the EJECT button to eject disc. (See Fig. 11) Press the PREV button ( ) to restart playback from current track at the beginning and press the ) and PREV button ( ) fast NEXT ( repeatedly to select track. You can also use the number button 0-9 to select tracks directly. Press and hold the NEXT ( ) and PREV button ( ) to forward scan and reverse scan. Advanced CD operation Press the RANDOM button to random playback. Press the REPEAT button to select repeat mode. Repeat one: repeat current track. Repeat all: repeat all tracks in a disc. Repeat A-B: repeat a segment between point A and point B. The repeat A-B lets you define your own segments to repeat. Repeat folder: repeat all files of current folder in CD-ROM (MP3) disc.

You can create custom playback programs with the program feature. In stop mode, Press the PROG button to enter CD program session. Press the NEXT and PREV to select the track you want. Press the PROG button again to confirm this program track and preparing for next program track. After you finish the program setting, press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start playback which you program. You can program up to 20 tracks to play in an order you create. (See Fig. 12) NOTE: The unit just can use standard 12cm(4 3/4") compact discs. Please don't place the smaller discs into the CD slot. Feature Menu Operation
Feature menu operation:
You can change some features of this unit by pressing MENU button. Press the MENU button repeatedly on the front panel or on the remote control to select the options in the menu.(see Fig.14) Press the MENU button to select available options. Press the SEL (ENTER) button to confirm the selection you want. Press the STOP button back to upper menu. Press the NEXT and PREV button to adjust the setting value. Fig 14 There are five options in feature menu for user selecting.(see Fig.15) CLOCK: you need adjust the minute and the second for clock setting. TIMER: it allow user to set the ON TIME and OFF TIME for alarm setting. You can press the ALARM button to enable/disable the alarm function. EQ: there are five sound effects in this unit. They are FLAT, ROCK, JAZZ, CLASSIC and POP. SELF EQ: it allow user to adjust treble and bass output. ID3: it let user can enable or disable ID3 display in CD-ROM( MP3 Disc). This is only for MP3 disc with ID3 tag. You can add ID3 text information into a MP3 file. This unit can display the song title, artist and album when playback a MP3 file.

Enable the alarm
Enable the alarm
You can enable/disable the alarm in anytime. Press the ALARM button on the remote control repeatedly to choose the alarm status. When the alarm is enable, the TIMER icon will show on LCD display. You need set the alarm time in feature MENU(ON TIME option). (See Fig. 16)

Mute function You can press the MUTE button to mute the sound. Press this button again to cancel the mute status. If the volume is adjusted in mute status, the mute is cancelled. (See Fig. 17)
Sleep function When you listening to the music, the sleep function turns off the unit automatically after a predetermined sleep time. Press the SLEEP button repeatedly on the remote control to change the sleep time, then the SLEEP icon will show on LCD display. (See Fig. 18) If you want to cancel the sleep function, press this button repeatedly until sleep delay time is displayed SLEEP 00.

USB and SD/MMC Operation
USB and SD /MMC MODE
This unit can play mp3 file stored on USB flash disk (i.e. Pen Drive) and SD/MMC card. You can copy mp3 file to USB flash disk or SD/MMC card from PC then playback mp3 file on this unit. Insert USB flash disk or SD/MMC card into slot, then press the FUNCTION button to select USB flash mode or SD/MMC mode. (see Fig. 20 and 21) When the unit read the mp3 file, it will start playback automatically. The LCD display will show total folder number(Fxx), total file number (Txx) and playing time. When the MP3 files contains ID3 text information in your plug-in USB flash disk and SD / MMC card, the ID3 text will show on the LCD display. You can disable ID3 text display in feature menu. Press the PLA/PAUSE button to toggle play and pause operation. Press the STOP button to stop operation. Press the PREV button to restart playback from current track at the beginning and press the NEXT and PREV button fast repeatedly to select file. You can also use the number button 0-9 to select files directly. Press the FOLDER button to move to next folder in USB flash disk and SD/MMC card. You can press the REPEAT button, the RANDOM button and the PROG button to change playback sequence what you want. The operation is the same CD mode. If you want to use other USB flash disk or SD/ MMC card when playing, press the STOP button firstly then pull out the USB flash disk or SD/MMC card and insert other USB flash disk or SD/ MMC card directly. iPod Operation
This unit has a iPod Dock, you can insert your iPod to Dock for enjoying fun without earphone. The music of iPod will output from the speak system of this unit.
The unit provides a variety of iPod dock adapters for iPod using. Please choose the right dock adapter for your iPod and refer to the figure to install and uninstall the iPod dock adapter.

Insert your iPod into the iPod Dock firmly, and then press the FUNCTION button to select iPod function for iPod playback. Press the i-MODE button to change iPod mode between playing mode and menu mode. In playing mode, the LCD will be displayed IPOD. You can press PLAY/PAUSE button, STOP button, NEXT and PREV button to control iPod. In menu mode, the LCD will be displayed IPODMENU. This unit has four buttons to control iPod. i_menu button( ): this button is the same as Menu button of iPod. ): this button is the same as Center button of iPod. i_enter button( i_scroll_up button( ): this button will move up the menu bar in menu mode. i_scroll_down button( ): this button will move down the menu bar in menu mode. When you inserted iPod into the iPod Dock, the unit will charge for iPod in the same time. Note : When you don't use your iPod, please remove it from iPod Dock.

TROUBLE SHOOTING Q&A
Before requesting service for this unit, please check below table for a possible cause of the problem. You can simple check or adjust on your part. OBLIGATION OF THE ORIGINAL OWNER
1.The dealer's original dated bill of sale must be retained as a proof of purchase and must be presented to the Lasonic Authorized service Station. 2.Transportation to and from the service center is the responsibility of the customer.
WARRANTY LIMITATIONS
This limited warranty does not cover antennas, cabinet, cabinet parts, Knobs, stylus batteries, tapes and accessories, cartage or shipment to or from an authorized Lasonic Service Facility, new products or service performed outside of the contiguous 48 States and the States of Alaska and Hawaii, uncrating, set up or installation, adjustments of customer operated controls, repairs or replacement parts supplied by other than an authorized Lasonic Service Facility, any defect, malfunction or failure caused by or resulting from improper service, maintenance or repair, or from abuse, neglect, accident or any other cause beyond the control of Lasonic, or to any product whose serial number shall have been removed, altered, replaced, defaced or rendered illegible. This limited warranty is made only to the original consumer purchaser of this Lasonic product and is effective only upon presentation of evidence of provable date purchase. Each Lasonic DVD player has been pre-set with region lock protection. Lasonic does not endorse or bear responsibility for any attempt to change the region code setting of a Lasonic DVD player. Such change may void the original manufacturer warranty. NO PERSON AGENT, DISTRIBUTOR, DEALER, SERVICE FACILITY, OR COMPANY IS AUTHORIZED TO CHANGE, MODIFY OR AMEND THE TERMS OF THIS LIMITED WARRANTY IN ANY MANNER OR FASHION WHATSOEVER. EXCEPT AND TO THE EXTENT PROVIDED HEREIN, LASONIC MAKES NO WARRANTY EITHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THIS LASONIC PRODUCT INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND ALL SUCH IMPLIED WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES CONTAINED HEREIN LASONIC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE TO THE PURCHASER OR TO ANY OTHER PERSON FOR ANY INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR LOSS OF PROFITS OR PRODUCT RESULTING FROM ANY DEFECT IN OR MALFUNCTION OR FAILURE OF THIS LASONIC PRODUCT SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATION ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR THE EXCLUSION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION AND EXCLUSION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which vary from State to State.
