MeteoClock® "Elegance First" SM1840 + ASM30 - Instruction Manual
INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of this weather station, MeteoClock® SM1840 "Elegance First". Please take the time to read and understand this manual so you can begin to enjoy the convenience and features this product has to offer. What exactly is a Weather Station? Lexibook digital stations measure not only the time in progress  thanks to their built-in clock- but also the actual and upcoming weather. The MeteoClock® SM1840 incorporates the following functions: - Thermometer: The temperature is displayed in real time to the nearest tenth of a degree Celsius. Thanks to its wireless sensor, the weather station can give you the temperature reading outside or in another room. - Hygrometer: Outdoor or indoor hygrometry is expressed in percentage of humidity in the ambient air. The ideal `Comfort Zone' for the human body ranges from 35 to 65% hygrometry for a given temperature between 18 and 24oC. - Barometer: The station also monitors the atmospheric pressure and, based on its pattern of evolution, displays a weather forecast as a user-friendly icon: sun, clouds, rain... That's the weather to be expected in the next 8 to 12 hours. And many extra features: - Animated icons - Pivoting and rotating base
- Wall mounting stand - Blue backlit LCD display

2. CH 123 will be displayed. Select a channel (1, 2 or 3) using the [D2] switch. The channel function allows the receiver to identify each remote sensor. The main unit can receive up to 3 different remote channels. The preferred channel number (1, 2 or 3) for each individual remote sensor can be assigned. However, channel 1 is used for collecting data from outdoors and activating the weather forecast symbols. If you only have one remote sensor, please set it at channel 1 and place it ou doors. 3. Select whether the sensor will display the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit degrees by pressing [D1]. 4. Press the TX button [D3] to synchronize the sensor with your new settings. The icon will appear at [C5]. 5. Insert 2 x AA batteries at the back of the main unit. Note: the SM1840 comes with one main unit and one remote sensor. If you wish to buy additional sensors please refer to the section ACCESSORIES at the end of this manual. SM1842 comes with 2 sensors, SM1843 comes with 3 sensor. SYNCHRONIZATION 1. The Learn function executes automatically and runs for approximately 2 minutes when the batteries are first installed in the receiver. 2. Within these 2 minutes, the main unit picks up the temperature & humidity signals from the remote sensor and displays the readings. If you only have one remote sensor, the main unit will be automatically synchronized with the channel set on the remote sensor. Radio Controlled Clock: 1. The SM1840 is designed to automatically synchronize its calendar clock once it is brought within a range of 1500km of the Frankfurt DCF77 radio signal. When the SM1840 is brought within this range, its auto-control mechanism will override all manual settings. 2. The clock automatically starts scanning the RF 433MHz signal after new batteries are inserted in the main unit. When receiving the RF 433MHz radio signal, the Radio Tower symbol " "starts to blink [A20]. A complete reception generally takes about 10 minutes, depending on the strength of the radio signal. 3. When the reception is complete, the Radio Tower symbol " " will stop blinking and remain solid. 4. For an optimal reception, place the clock away from metal objects and electrical appliances (i.e. television, computer, monitor, etc.) to minimize interference.

7
Notes: - For a better reception and synchronization, please first place the main unit near a window on a table or on a shelf. - Most of the buttons will not function during the scan and will work again once the DCF signal is well received or the scan is stopped manually. - The clock automatically scans the time signal at 3.00 a.m. everyday to maintain accurate timing. If the reception fails, the scan is interrupted and the unit will try to a new scan at 4:00am, 5:00am and 6:00am. - If the reception fails or the unit is out of auto-clock range, the scan stops and " " disappears from the LCD screen. - You can trigger the radio clock synchronization by holding the [B11] button for 3 seconds. Press and hold the [B11] button again to stop the DCF signal scan. FIXING THE REMOTE SENSOR AND MAIN UNIT Remote sensor The remote sensor can be placed upright on a smooth surface or wall-mounted. To ensure a good transmission, the remote sensor should not be installed on or near a large metal surface. Before choosing the location of the remote sensor, test that the receiver can receive the signals. It is also recommended that the remote sensor is placed as close as possible to the main unit to eliminate any interference. The remote sensor can also be wall-mounted. To do so, locate the wall-mounting hole at the back of the sensor (upper part) and fix it on a hook or nail. Main unit The main unit can be fixed on the rotating/pivoting base or on the wall-mounted base (both included). To use the base, fix the main unit's socket (located under the unit) into the base's jack. Place the base on a smooth, stable surface. To use the wall-mounted base, insert a screw in each wall-mounting hole (2) and fix it to a wall. Then, fix the main unit's socket into the wall-mounted base's jack.

USING THE TEMPERATURE PROBE: 1. It is recommended use the temperature probe to sense the temperature when the outside temperature is between the range: -50°C ~ 0°C and +50°C~+70°C 2. When the outdoor temperature is below -20 °C, it is mandatory to use the probe outside and place the sensor unit indoors to avoid freezing the battery 3. To use the probe, insert the probe plug on the bottom right hand side of the remote sensor. BACK LIGHT: To use the back light, press [A19], located below the main unit LCD display. The back light stays on for 5 seconds.
CLOCK AND ALARM SETTINGS
