Plug the AC power Cord into a wall socket PHONES (Headphone jack) Connect a headphone plug ( 3.5 mm) into the jack to listen to the sound through headphones. Connecting headphones (not supplied) will switch off the speakers. a. Before connecting the AC power cord, check whether the operating voltage of your unit is identical with the voltage of your local power supplied. b. Connect one end of the AC power cord (supplied) to the AC IN socket located at the backside of your unit. c. Plug the other end into the wall outlet. Put the battery in the remote control Make sure that the + (plus) and - (minus) on the battery (size AAA) match those on the remote control. Listening to the radio - more you can do Look for radio stations automatically Press ./> on either the player or the remote control for more than 0.5 second. The tuner will scan automatically and stop when it finds a radio station. Delete all the saved stations x Press and hold x ENTER on the remote control for two seconds. x "ERASE" shows. Press x ENTER on the remote control to erase all the saved stations. Choose a `preset number' for a radio station x Select a station you want by pressing ./>. Press x ENTER, the station flashes. Press FOLDER·PRESET on the remote control to select x the preset number you want. Press x ENTER to save it. Improve poor FM reception Press MO./ST. on the player or B/[] on the remote control. Turn the portable player on and start it playing: ON REMOTE 1] 1 /] FUNC/INPUT 1 1 INPUT See information about your radio stations - OPTIONAL The FM tuner is supplied with the Radio Data System (RDS) facility. This shows the letters RDS on the display, plus information about the radio station being listened to. Press RDS on the remote control several times to view the information. PTY - Programme Type, such as News, Sport, Jazz. RT - Radio Text, the name of the radio station. CT - Time Control, the time at the location of the radio station. PS - Programme Service name, the name of channel. You can search the radio stations by programme type by pressing RDS. The display will show the last PTY in use. Press PTY one or more times to select your preferred programme type. Press and hold ./>. The tuner will search automatically. When a station is found the search will stop. DAB provides listeners CD-like quality radio programs. DAB can carry not only audio but also text. ON PLAYER 1. Select the DAB function: The frequency received first after scanning DAB bands is broadcasted. 2. Select the DAB radio station: 3. Play the selected channel: FUNC. ON REMOTE FUNCTION Selecting among Primary and Secondary broadcasting For the frequency on which secondary broadcasting channels exist, B blinks B after selection. Then, press B/[] to select the secondary broadcasting. B NOTES : · Broadcasting may be interrupted or stopped while using it in a forest, some places enclosed by buildings, or the places where reception sensitivity is weak. About Ferrite Core ./> ./> B B/[] B B/[] 1 2 Be sure to attach the ferrite core to the Power cord (for connecting to this unit). How to attach the ferrite core. Listening to the DAB - more you can do DAB mode You can change the display information of the currently broadcasting DAB channel. Press DAB MODE on the remote control repeatedly, the display changes in the following order, SERVICE PTY NAME FREQUENCY DLS QUALITY ENSEMBLE. Select a display mode and then press ./>, the initials of the service name are displayed. SERVICE - Displays the Name of Component for the current broadcast. PTY NAME - Displays the Type of Component for the current broadcast. FREQUENCY - Displays the frequency of Component for the current broadcast. DLS - It displays the current Scroll of Component which is selected. QUALITY - It displays the current strength of electric field of broadcasting which it doing in Bar form. ENSEMBLE - Displays the Ensemble of Component for the current broadcast. 3 1 Push the stopper [a] of the ferrite core to open. 2 Wind the Power cord once on the ferrite core. 3 Close the ferrite core until it clicks. Aligning the service names Press SCAN/SORT on the remote control to display the sorting mode of DAB broadcastings. Then, press the button once again to change the mode. Default sort : The service names are aligned in a scanning order. Name sort : The service names are aligned in an alphabetical order. DAB scan Press SCAN on the remote control for longer than 3 seconds, all of the DAB bands are scanned. Then press it again, scanning will be canceled. 8 EMOTIONAL AUDIO DEVICE ] USER GUIDE Connecting your portable USB player The advantage of connecting your portable USB player through the system's USB port is that the portable device can be controlled from the system. Connect the portable player to the system (not supplied). Recording Record FM or PORTABLE source to USB Connect USB to the player before recording. ON PLAYER 1. Select a mode (PORTABLE or FM) in which you want to record: 2. Start the Recording: 3. The unit can not be used as a storage device. · HDD type USBs may not work when power is not supported in it by itself.
