Install or replace two new batteries, making sure the polarities (+ and -) on the battery match the polarities on the case. · Replace battery cover. · If the Low Battery indicator " " appears on the display, both batteries must be replaced. · "AAA" alkaline batteries or equivalent are suitable for this blood pressure meter. Attaching the Wrist Cuff and Posture During Measurement · The blood pressure is measured at the wrist. Therefore, rolling up the sleeve is no longer necessary. · Wrap the wrist cuff around your left wrist with the display panel on the inside of the wrist. · Pull the wrist cuff to fit wrist size and fasten velcro. Wrist circumference: 5.4-7.8 in. Rest left elbow on a table so that the cuff is at heart level. Relax the lower arm across the table and remain still. Perform measurements in either a seated or reclining posture with the left palm turned upward. 1/2 inch 4 Measurement NOTE: Unit measures on inflation. · To start the measurement Press the "Power/Start" switch. · The heart symbol will flash and the buzzer will sound for 1 second. When the unit completes the preparations for measurement, the buzzer will sound three more times. If batteries are weak, "h " mark will not appear. · Pressurization and measuring begin. · When a pulse is detected, the pressure value moves to the lower side of the display. At this time the "h" mark flashes and buzzer beeps. · Once the blood-pressure measurement has stabilized, pressurization is discontinued and the air in the cuff is automatically let out. · The buzzer sounds for about 2 seconds, and the high and low blood pressure are respectively dis- 5 played one above the other. · Unless an error is generated, the measurement results are automatically stored in memory (Up to 7 sets of results can be stored ). When there are already 7 sets of results in memory, the oldest one is automatically erased and overwritten with the newest. · Blood pressure values and pulse rate are alternately displayed. The unit will continue to display the measurement until power is turned off. · Turn Power off Press the "Power/Start" switch to turn off. NOTE: To discontinue a measurement for any reason, press the "Power/Start" switch. This causes the "wrist cuff" to rapidly deflate. Subsequent Measurement When a measurement needs to be made again, the time between 2 measurements must be at least 10 minutes. Automatic Power OFF Function If the unit is left on after measurement, an "Automatic PowerOFF Function" turns the power off after approximately 3 minutes. To continue with another measurement press the "Power/Start" switch to turn the unit on. 6 Memory Recall · You can recall stored data by pressing the "Memory Recall" switch at any time, EXCEPT while taking a measurement. · Up to 7 sets of measurement results can be stored in memory. Memory cell No. 1 is always used to store the newest set of results. · When pressing the "Memory Recall" switch, the memory cell number is displayed. The stored measurement results (systolic/diastolic blood pressure) are then displayed. · If the "Memory Recall" switch is pressed again, the prior measurements are displayed in the order they were taken. Memory Clear Function While the memory data to be cleared is indicated and the "Memory recall" switch is pressed for 3 seconds, the buzzer will beep and the memory data is cleared. 7 Description of Display Marks DISPLAY MARK CONDITION/CAUSE CORRECTIVE ACTION The cuff was inflated to more than 280 mmHg.
