Safety precautions · This machine can cause serious injuries if not used in the correct manner. · If using the face shield, ensure you peel off the protective films from the see-through plastic. · Ensure all operators study this manual carefully and thoroughly before using the hedge trimmer. · Be familiar with all controls and the proper use of this machine. · As with all machinery, long hair, loose belts or straps should be tied back or secured to avoid possible contact or entanglement with moving parts. · Wear close-fitting protective clothes. Wear safety shoes, gloves, goggles and ear protectors. Ensure you know how to stop the engine in an emergency. Start the engine according to these instructions. · Stop the engine when changing location or before examining the blades. · Prolonged use of this or other machines exposing the operator to vibration may produce Whitefinger's Disease (Raynaud's Phenomenon). This may reduce the hands' ability to feel and regulate temperature and may produce general numbness. Continual or regular users should therefore monitor closely the condition of their hands or fingers. If any of the symptoms appear, seek immediate medical advice.
