Follow all warning and instructions on the product. Do not cover or block the vent holes in the case. Do not insert sharp objects or spill liquid into the LCD monitor through the cabinet slots; this may cause accidental fire, electric shock or failure. Disconnect the power plug from the AC outlet if you will not use it for an extended period of time. Do not attempt to service this product yourself, as opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltage points or other risks. Do not touch the screen directly with your fingers, as you may damage the screen, and oil from your skin is difficult to remove. Do not apply pressure to screen, as the LCD is very delicate. Keep the monitor away from extreme heat, cold or humid places. Do not place directly under sunlight, dusty surroundings, or near equipment which may generate strong magnetic fields. Before you connect the cables, make sure that the monitor and the system unit power switches are OFF. Open cover "A" located on the rear of the monitor. 3 3. Plug one end of the 15pin signal cable to the monitor and the other end to the video signal connector at the rear of the system. Tighten the two screws on the cable connector on both ends. Otherwise, the screen will be abnormal and the LED will light up as yellow (instead of the normal green color). Connect the power to the monitor through the AC/DC adapter. Connect the power cord on the AC outlet (see illustration below). 4. 5. 4 5 Cleaning Gently wipe the LCD screen with a clean, soft-lens brush or with a soft, clean, lint-free cloth. This removes dust and other particles that can scratch the screen. Do not apply pressure to the screen surface when wiping. Do not pour or spray any liquid directly onto the screen or onto the case of the LCD monitor. Chemical cleaners may very well damage the screen or the LCD monitor. 6 OSD Controls The OSD The Control Panel To use the Control Panel and navigate the OSD: 1. Press the Menu button in your Control Panel to bring up the OSD and to select the desired menu option. 2. Press the "+" or "-" buttons to navigate the OSD Main Menu and to adjust display settings. 3. Press the Auto button to automatically select the optimum settings for your monitor, based on the your current input signal. 7 Brightness: Adjusts the brightness level of the screen. Contrast: Adjusts the contrast of the screen. Clock: Corrects for video distortion. Phase: Adjusts the monitor's video phase for the best focus and visibility. 8 H-Position: Adjusts the position of the image on the LCD screen on a horizontal plane (left or right). V-Position: Adjusts the position of the image on the LCD screen on a vertical plane (up or down). Sharpness: This function is not available with this model. Text/Graphic: This function is not available with this model. Language: Allows you to choose from among eight languages including English, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Japanese, Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. 9 OSD H-Position: Adjusts the position of the OSD window on a horizontal plane (left or right). OSD V-Position: Adjusts the position of the OSD window on a vertical plane (up or down). OSD Temperance: This function is not available with this model. Color Temperature: Adjusts the colors in the monitor to a warmer or cooler shade. Choose from User Color, 9300, or 6500. If you choose "User Color" (the default value) as your setting, the next menu option ("Set User Color") will remain available. If you choose "9300" or "6500" as your setting, the next menu option will be grayed out and will not be available for use. Press "+" or "-" to move among the settings. 10 Set User Color: Adjusts the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color channels of the monitor (when in "User Color" setting from the Color Temperature menu). To use this feature: 1. Press the Menu button to enter the RGB submenu. 2. Press the Menu button once more to select the desired color channel. 3. Press "+" or "-" to increase or decrease the setting of the color channel you are in. 4. Press the Menu button a third time to return to the RGB submenu. 5. To exit Set User Color menu, press "+" or "-" until you see the "Exit" setting, then press the Menu button. Reset: Restores settings to their factory default values. Exit: Lets you exit the Main Menu. Volume: Adjusts the sound level. Input Source: This function is not available with this model. 11 Appendix A: Troubleshooting This LCD monitor comes pre-adjusted with standard VGA timing. Due to output timing differences among various VGA cards, you may initially experience an unstable or unclear display when a new display mode or new VGA card is selected. Before applying any of the following troubleshooting procedures, you should first apply the Auto Adjust option in the OSD menu. PROBLEM: There is no picture on the LCD screen Check the color of the LED indicator on the LCD Monitor. "GREEN": During normal operation the LED light will be green. However, if the LED is green but there is no picture on the LCD screen, this indicates a malfunction. Call the vendor or your reseller. "ORANGE": Check the connection of the VGA cable to the monitor our output of your computer. "NO POWER": Make sure that the power cord is securely connected to the Adapter and that the light on the Adapter is green. PROBLEM: Text on the screen is not smooth Adjust the resolution to its true setting of 1024 x 768. PROBLEM: Missing Colors If any of the red, green, or blue colors is missing, check the signal cable to make sure it is securely connected.
