..........................................................................................................................4 9 GET CONNECTED IN 4 QUICK STEPS 1-CHARGE 2-START BLUETOOTH FEATURE 3-PAIR 4-TEST AND USE 1 BEFORE YOU BEGIN Before using this product, read the important Safety and Legal information pamphlet and follow its instructions. Take a moment before you get started to familiarize yourself with your new H700 Handsfree Headset. 2 CHARGE Your Headset's Battery 1 Plug the Motorola charger into the end of the headset 2 The indicator light turns red when the battery is charging. It may take up to 1 minute for the indicator light to turn on. When the headset's battery is fully charged (about 2 hours), the indicator light turns green. Disconnect the charger. Note: Headset is not functional while charging. 3 START BLUETOOTH Feature Your Phone Your phone's Bluetooth feature is off by default. To use your headset, you must turn on the Bluetooth feature in your phone. For most Motorola phones: 1 Select (Menu) > Settings > Connection >Bluetooth Link > Setup. 2 Scroll to Power. 3 Press Change. 4 Scroll to On. 5 Press Select to turn on the Bluetooth feature. The Bluetooth feature remains on until you turn it off. Note: These steps are for most Motorola phones. For other phones, see your phone's user's guide. 4 PAIR Your Headset Before you can use your headset, you must pair (link) it with your phone. Step A - PUT HEADSET IN PAIRING MODE 1 Ensure the headset is turned off (indicator light not blinking and headset boom is closed). 2 Press and hold the Call button. After about 4 or 5 seconds, the indicator light becomes steadily lit in magenta 3 Release the Call button and immediately open the headset boom. The indicator light remains lit in magenta. If the indicator light is flashing in blue or not steadily lit when opening the headset boom, repeat steps 1 through 3 on this page. 5 PAIR CONTINUED Your Phone Step B - SET THE PHONE TO LOOK FOR YOUR HEADSET For most Motorola phones: 1 On your Motorola phone, press (Menu) >Settings > Connection > Bluetooth Link >Handsfree > Look for Devices. The phone lists all Bluetooth devices it finds. 2 Select Motorola H700. 3 Press OK or Yes to pair your headset with your phone. 4 Enter the passkey: 0000 5 Select OK. When your headset successfully paired with your phone, the indicator light changes from steadily lit to flashing blue. Note: These steps are for most Motorola phones. For other phones, see your phone's user's guide. 6 TEST AND USE Your phone and headset are now paired and ready to make and receive calls. To make a call: 1 Open the headset boom and place the headset over your ear. 2 On your phone, dial the number you want to call and press the Send key. 3 If your phone and headset are successfully paired, you hear ringing on the headset. After you have successfully paired your phone and headset, you do not need to repeat these steps. For daily use, ensure that your headset is turned ON and that your phone's Bluetooth feature is ON. To save battery power, turn OFF the headset when you don't use it for an extended time. 7 USING YOUR H700 Features and Functions Guide IMPORTANT: Be sure to first follow the User's Guide to complete initial setup of your H700. 8 TURNING ON AND OFF To turn your headset on, open the headset boom. The indicator light flashes blue. To turn you headset off, close the headset boom. The indicator light will turn off. To conserve battery power, turn off your headset when you don't plan to use it for a while. 9 WEARING THE HEADSET 1 Open the headset boom, then open the earhook (45°from the headset) 2 Loop the earhook over your ear. 3 Press the headset to your ear. 4 Point the headset boom towards your mouth. 10 CHANGING FOR USE ON OTHER EAR You can wear your H700 headset on your left or right ear. The headset comes ready for the right ear. To change the headset for the left ear: 1 Open the headset boom, then open the earhook (90°from the headset). 2 Gently lift and pull the top of the earhook up and off the upper hinge pin. Then, pull it away to remove it. 3 Flip the headset over. 4 Hook the bottom of the earhook onto the lower hinge pin, then lift and pull the top of the earhook over the upper hinge pin. 11 CHANGING VOLUME BUTTON ORIENTATION You can also change the orientation of the volume buttons on your headset. 1 Turn the headset power off. 2 Press the Call button until the indicator light becomes steadily lit in magenta. Then press the Volume button you want to assign as the "volume up" button. 12 MAKING CALLS Function Make a voice dial call End a call Receive a call Action Tap the Call button and speak the name after the tone Tap the Call buttonor close headset boom Open headset boom or tap the Call button(if boom is already open) Reject a call Redial last call Answer a second incoming call Press and hold the Call button until you hear a beep Press and hold the Call button until you hear a beep Press and hold the Call button (places first call on hold) Note: Your H700 supports both Handsfree and Headset Profiles. Accessing call functions depends upon which profile your phone supports. See your phone's user's guide for more information. 13 MAKING CALLS CONTINUED Action Press and hold the Call button Press and hold both volume buttons Press and hold the Call button until you hear a beep Tap the Call button Press and hold both Volume buttons for 3 to 4 seconds Tap both Volume buttons Function Toggle between two active calls Join a 3-way call (Note: Feature is phone/ network dependent.) Put an active call on hold or resume a call on hold Transfer a call from the phone to the headset Disable or enable the indicator light Mute or unmute a call 14 INDICATOR LIGHTS With the Charger Plugged In Headset indicator Red (steady) Yellow(steady) Green(steady) Headset Indicator Off Magenta (steady) Red Blue(10 rapid flashes) Blue (Slow pulse) Blue (Quick flash) Headset Status Charging (less the 80% charged) Charging (more than 80% charged) Charging complete Headset Status Power off Pairing mode Battery low Pairing successful Connected (on a call) Standby (not on call) With No Charger Plugged In Note: After 5 minutes of inactivity, the light stops flashing to conserve power, but the headset remains in standby mode. 15 AUDIO TONES The audio tones provide information about your headset status. No audio indications; detereriorating quality Ring tone Single high tone Single low tone Dual high/low tone Single high tone Low to high tone Two ascending tones Two descending tones Volume at minimum or maximum Low battery Out of range Incoming call Pairing confirmation Voice activation Voice tag not recognized End call Phone network not available Mute enabled Mute disabled 16 TROUBLESHOOTING My phone does not find my headset Make sure the indicator light on your headset is on(lit in blue) and steady when your phone is searching for devices (see step ). My headset worked before but now it's not working. Make sure your phone is on and the Bluetooth feature is turned on in your phone (see step ). If the Bluetooth feature was turned off or was turned on only temporarily, you may need to restart the Bluetooth feature (see step ). and pair your phone and headset again (see step ).
