Conseils de sécurité - N'utilisez votre bouilloire que pour faire chauffer de l'eau potable. - Placer la bouilloire et son cordon bien à l'arrière du plan de travail. - Eloignez la bouilloire et le câble d'alimentation de toute source de chaleur, de toute surface mouillée ou glissante, d'angles vifs. - Ne pas remplir au-dessus du niveau maxi ni en-dessous du niveau mini. Si la bouilloire est trop remplie, de l'eau bouillante peut-être éjectée. - Ne pas ouvrir le couvercle lorsque l'eau bout. - Vérifiez que l'installation électrique est conforme aux normes en vigueur et compatible avec la puissance et la tension indiquée sous votre modèle. - Ne branchez la bouilloire que sur une prise terre incorporée. Toute erreur de branchement annule la garantie. - Votre bouilloire ne doit être utilisée qu'avec le couvercle verrouillé et le socle qui lui est associé. (cas des bouilloires avec socle). - L'emploi de prises multiples et/ou rallonges est déconseillé. - Ne mettez pas l'appareil, le socle, le câble d'alimentation ou la fiche dans l'eau ou tout autre liquide. - Ne pas utiliser de tampons abrasifs pour le nettoyage. - Pour enlever le filtre anti-tartre, retirez la bouilloire de son socle et laissez refroidir l'appareil. N'enlevez jamais le filtre quand l'appareil est rempli d'eau chaude. - Notre garantie exclut les bouilloires qui ne fonctionnent pas ou mal du fait de l'absence de détartrage. - Ne jamais utiliser une autre méthode de détartrage que celle préconisée. - N'utilisez pas la bouilloire si le câble d'alimentation ou la fiche sont endommagés. Afin d'éviter tout danger, faites-les obligatoirement remplacer par un centre service agréé Moulinex. - N'utilisez pas l'appareil s'il ne fonctionne pas correctement ou si il a été endommagé. Ne démontez la bouilloire sous aucun prétexte. 4 - Toute intervention autre que le nettoyage et l'entretien usuel par le client doit être effectuée par un centre service agréé Moulinex. - La garantie couvre les défauts de fabrication et l'usage domestique uniquement. Toute casse ou détérioration résultant du non respect des instructions d'utilisation n'entre pas dans le cadre de la garantie. - Ne laissez pas l'appareil à portée de mains des enfants. L'utilisation de cet appareill par des enfants ou des personnes handicapées doit être faite sous surveillance. - Ne déplacez jamais la bouilloire lorsqu'elle est en fonctionnement. - N'utilisez pas la bouilloire lorsque vous avez les mains mouillées ou les pieds nus. Utilisation - Avant une première utilisation, rincez l'intérieur de votre bouilloire et réalisez 1 ou 2 ébullitions. - Posez votre bouilloire ou le socle sur une surface stable. - La bouilloire étant débranchée ou retirée de son socle, remplissez-la par le bec verseur ou par le couvercle ouvert entre les repères mini et maxi. - Verrouillez le couvercle, branchez la bouilloire ou reposez la sur son socle. - Pour les modèles FLA1, BAB1, BY4001, BY4011 , BY1001: Appuyer sur la commande d'ouverture pour verrouiller/déverrouiller le couvercle.Le verrouillage automatique est signalé par un «clic» et la remontée de la commande. - Branchez sur le secteur. - Mettez en marche en positionnant l'interrupteur sur «I». - La bouilloire s'arrêtera automatiquement dès que l'eau arrivera à ébullition. S'assurer que la bouilloire est hors tension avant de la retirer de son socle. - Vous pouvez aussi arrêter la bouilloire à tout moment pendant le cycle de chauffe en mettant l'interrupteur sur «0». - Videz entièrement l'eau de votre bouilloire après chaque utilisation. 1 2 3 4 5 6 Nettoyage Pour nettoyer votre bouilloire : - Débranchez-la ou enlevez-la de son socle. - Laissez-la refroidir et nettoyez-la avec une éponge humide. Pour nettoyer le filtre (suivant modèle): Nettoyez régulièrement le filtre. Rincez-le à l'eau courante claire en utilisant au besoin une brosse douce et non métallique. Prévention des accidents domestiques - Débranchez l'appareil dès que vous cessez de l'utiliser et lorsque vous le nettoyez. - Attention à vos déplacements avec la bouilloire lorsqu'elle contient de l'eau. - Inclinez et versez lentement pour éviter tout risque de brûlure éventuelle par eau chaude. - Eloignez les mains du bec verseur lorsque l'eau arrive à ébullition et évitez tout contact avec les surfaces chaudes de l'appareil. Détartrage - Détartrer régulièrement votre bouilloire. - Utiliser : 1) soit un détartrant spécifique pour les bouilloires en PLASTIQUE. Bien suivre les indications du fabricant. 2) soit du vinaigre blanc du commerce à 8°. Remplir la bouilloire avec 1/2 l de vinaigre. Laisser agir une heure à froid. Vider votre bouilloire puis la rincer quatre à cinq fois. 3) soit de l'acide citrique. Faire bouillir 0,5 l d'eau. Ajouter 25 g d'acide citrique. Laisser agir pendant 15 minutes. Vider votre bouilloire puis la rincer quatre à cinq fois. - Renouveler l'opération si nécessaire. - Si vous utiliser de l'acide citrique, toujours additionner avec de l'eau. - Ne jamais détartrer votre bouilloire à vide. - Avant réutilisation, rincer à l'eau froide puis faire chauffer de l'eau (niveau maxi) deux fois en jetant l'eau avant de consommer. En cas de problème - Vérifiez : . le branchement. . que la bouilloire est bien positionnée sur son socle. . que l'interrupteur est en position «I». . que la bouilloire n'a pas fonctionné sans eau. Sinon : Modèles FLA1, FLB1, BAB1 , BY4001, BY4011, BY1001: versez de l'eau froide dans l'appareil, retirez la bouilloire de sa base et remettez-la en place afin de réarmer le système de coupure automatique. Autres modèles : versez de l'eau froide dans l'appareil, attendez 1 minute et essayez de nouveau. - Si votre appareil s'arrête par intermittence avant l'ébullition ou s'arrête avant ébullition, il est probablement entartré. Votre appareil ne fonctionne toujours pas? Adressez-vous à un centre service agréé Moulinex (voir liste dans le livret «Moulinex Service»). 5 English Thank you for choosing an appliance from the Moulinex range which is intended exclusively for the heating of water. Fit the appropriate plug according to the instructions in paragraph "Fitting a plug". With alternative plugs a 15 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or adaptor or at the main fuse box. APPLIANCES WITHOUT FITTED PLUG FITTING A PLUG - IMPORTANT The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: GREEN & YELLOW : EARTH BLUE : NEUTRAL BROWN : LIVE As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows: The wire which is coloured GREEN & YELLOW must be connected to the terminal in the plug which is marked with the letter `E' or by the earth symbol or coloured green or green and yellow. The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter `N' or coloured black. The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter `L' or coloured red. This appliance is manufactured to conform to the Low Voltage Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 1989 and is designed to comply with BS 3456. It complies with the requirements of the EEC Directive (89/336/EEC). - Your kettle must be used only with the lid closed, and with its associated base (for kettles with a base). - The use of multiple sockets and/or mains extension leads is not recommended. - Do not place the appliance, the base, the power cable or the plug in water or any other liquid. - Do not use abrasive pads for cleaning. - To remove the anti-scale filter, take the kettle off its base, and leave it to cool. Never remove the filter when the appliance is full of hot water. - Our guarantee excludes kettles which do not work or which work badly, due to the absence of anti-scaling. - Never use any anti-scaling method other than that recommended. - Do not use the kettle if the power cable or the plug is damaged. In order to avoid all danger, you should have the faulty item replaced by a Moulinex approved service centre. Safety recommendations - Use your kettle only for the heating of drinking water. - Place the kettle and its lead well to the back of the worktop. - Keep the kettle and the power cable away from any source of heat, from any wet or slippery surface, and from sharp edges. - Do not fill to above the max level or below the min level. If the kettle is over-filled, boiling water may be ejected. - Do not open the lid when the water is boiling. - Check that the electrical installation is in conformity with currently-applicable standards, and compatible with the power and the voltage indicated underneath your model. - Connect the kettle only to a socket with an earth incorporated. Any connection error will nullify the guarantee. Wiring instructions for U.K and Ireland only : APPLIANCES WITH FITTED PLUG Important : For your convenience this appliance is supplied complete with a plug incorporating a 13 amp fuse. In the event of replacing a fuse in the plug supplied, a 13 amp fuse approved by ASTA to BS1362 must be used. If the socket outlets are not of the 13A BS 1363 type, and therefore do not accept the plug connected to this appliance, cut off the plug if moulded type or remove the plug if connected by screw terminals. When the plug is a moulded type and this is cut off from the appliance, the connected wires are a shock hazard. Do not under any circumstances connect a cut off plug into the electrical socket outlet. The cut off plug must be disposed of in a safe manner that prevents any form of connection. If the fuse cover is detachable, never use the plug with the cover omitted. Replacement covers can be obtained from your service agent. 6 - Do not use the appliance if it is not working correctly or if it has been damaged. Under no circumstances should you dismantle the kettle. - Any operation other than normal cleaning and servicing by the customer should be effected by a Moulinex approved service centre. - The guarantee covers manufacturing faults and domestic use only. Any breakage or damage resulting from failure to comply with the operating instructions will not be covered by the guarantee. - Do not leave the appliance within the reach of children. The use of this appliance by children or handicapped people should be avoided unless under supervision. - Never move the kettle when it is working. - Do not use the kettle when your hands are wet or your feet are bare. To clean the filter (depends on the model): - Clean the filter regularly. Rinse it in clean running water and using a soft, non-metallic brush if needed. De-scaling - Descale your kettle regularly. - Use: 1) a descaler specifically intended for PLASTIC kettles. Follow the manufacturer's instructions closely. 2) or commercial white vinegar at 8°. Pour 1/2 l of vinegar into the kettle. Leave it to work for one hour without heating. Empty your kettle then rinse it four or five times. 3) or citric acid. Boil 0.5 l of water. Add 25 g of citric acid. Leave it to work for 15 minutes. Empty your kettle then rinse it four or five times. - Repeat if necessary. - If you are using citric acid, always dilute it with water. - Never descale your kettle when it is empty. - Before using again, rinse with cold water then boil (max level) and discard the water twice without drinking it. Use - Before first use, rinse the inside of your kettle, and boil and empty it once or twice. - Place your kettle, or the base, on a stable surface. - With the kettle disconnected or removed from its base, fill it through the pouring lip or via the open lid, to between the min and max marks. - Close the lid, and connect the kettle or place it on its base. - For the FLA1 ,BAB1, BY4001, BY4011 , and BY1001 models: Press the off switch to lock/unlock the lid. Automatic locking is indicated by a "click" and the return of the switch. - Connect to the mains. - Switch on by setting the switch to "I" . - The kettle stops automatically as soon as the water boils. Make sure that the kettle is switched off before removing it from its base. - You can also switch the kettle off at any time during the heating process by setting the switch to "0". - Empty the water from your kettle completely after each use. 1 2 3 In the event of a problem - Check : . the connection. . that the kettle is correctly positioned on its base. . that the switch is set to "I". . that the kettle has not operated without water. FLA1, FLB1, ...
