O P E R AT I O N Volume / Impedance Control Setting 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Impedance 136 94 64 48 32 24 16 dB Reduction -14dB -12dB -10dB -7dB -5dB -3dB 0dB Counter-Clockwise Fully Clockwise Total Impedance Knowing the total impedance of your speakers allows you to properly match your amplifier with your speakers. Also, many amplifiers are not capable of powering loads less than 4 so it is important to ensure that the total impedance is not too low. Use the following formulas to figure the total impedance of a set of daisy-chained speakers. If all speakers have the same impedance use this formula: Impedance of each speaker / Number of speakers = Total Impedance For example: To figure the total impedance of five PM-100 monitors, daisy-chained together with each set to 2, the equation would be as follows: 24 / 5 Speakers = 4.8 Total Impedance If speakers with different impedances are daisy-chained use this formula: 1 1+ Z1 1 Z2 + 1 Z3 + 1 Z4 + 1 Z5 ... Z represents the impedance of each speaker. For example: To figure the total impedance of five PM-100 monitor, daisy-chained together, with impedance 64, 32, 32, 24, and 16 do the following: 1 1+ 64 1 32 + 1+1 32 24 + 1 16 ... = 5.5 Total Impedance OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES · MST-3R -- Straight stand with round base · MST-5B -- Boom stand with tripod base · SC-20 -- 20', 18-gauge, 1/4"-1/4" phone plug, speaker cable · SC-40 -- 40', 18-gauge, 1/4"-1/4" phone plug, speaker cable SERVICE FOR YOUR NADY AUDIO PRODUCT (U.S.) Should your NADY AUDIO product require service, please contact the Nady Service Department via telephone at (510) 652-2411 or e-mail at service@nady.com.
