1. Use the attached specified cables with the MultiSync ® LCD1525STM color monitor so as not to interfere with radio and television reception. (1) Please use the supplied power cable or equivalent to ensure FCC compliance. (2) Please use the supplied AC Adapter (#A2425S01). (3) Please use supplied shielded video signal cable. (4) Please use supplied USB cable. Use of other cables and adapters may cause interference with radio and television reception. 2. This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy, and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. Quick Start
To attach the MultiSync® LCD monitor to your system, follow these instructions:
1. Turn off the power to your computer. 2. For the PC: Connect the 15-pin mini D-SUB of the appropriate signal cable to the connector of the display card in your system (Figure A.1). Tighten all screws. For the Mac: Connect the MultiSync LCD1525STM Macintosh cable adapter to the computer (Figure B.1). Attach the 15-pin mini D-SUB end of the appropriate signal cable to the MultiSync LCD1525S Macintosh cable adapter (Figure B.1). Tighten all screws. NOTE: To obtain the MultiSync LCD1525S Macintosh cable adapter, call NEC Technologies at (800) 820-1230. 3. Remove connector cover and cable cover. Connect the 15-pin mini D-SUB of the video signal cable to the appropriate connector on the back of the monitor. Place the Video Signal Cable under Clip A (Figure C1). Replace connector cover and cable cover. 4. Using the USB cable, connect the B type connector to the USB upstream port on the back of the monitor and A type connector to the downstream part on the computer (Figure D.1). If you are using the cord from the USB device, use one of the downstream port on the side of the monitor (Figure E.1). NOTE: Incorrect cable connections may result in irregular operation, damage display quality/components of LCD module and/or shorten the module's life. 5. Connect one end of the power cord to the AC Adapter (#A2425S01) on the back of the monitor and the other end to the power outlet (Figure F.1). 6. Turn on the monitor (Figure G.1) and the computer. 7. To complete the setup of your MultiSync LCD monitor, use the following OSMTM controls: · Auto Adjust Contrast · Auto Adjust Refer to the Controls section of this User's Manual for a full description of these OSM controls. NOTE: For download information on the Windows 95/98 INF file for your MultiSync LCD1525S monitor, refer to the References section of this User's Manual. NOTE: If you have any problems, please refer to the Troubleshooting section of this User's Manual.

Tilt Grasp both sides of the monitor screen with your hands and adjust the tilt as desired (Figure TS.1). Remove Monitor Stand for Mounting To prepare the monitor for alternate mounting purposes: 1. Remove the back cover and the cable cover (Figure R.1).

2. Disconnect all cables. 3. Place monitor face down on a non-abrasive surface (Figure R.2). 4. Remove the 4 screws connecting the monitor to the stand and lift off the stand assembly (Figure R.2). The monitor is now ready for mounting in an alternate manner. 5. Connect the AC Adapter cord to the back of the monitor marked "DC in" (Figure R.3). 6. Reverse this process to reattach stand.
NOTE: Use only VESA-compatible alternative mounting method. When the monitor stand is removed, the USB capabilities will be disabled.
CAUTION
Please use only the supplied AC Adapter (#A2425S01).

Remove AC Adapter from Monitor Stand To remove the AC Adapter 1. Remove the back panel and remove cable cover (Figure AC.1). 2. Disconnect all cables. 3. Place monitor face down on a non-abrasive surface (Figure AC.2). 4. Remove the 4 screws on the bottom of the stand and lift bottom panel (Figure AC.3). Figure AC.1 5. Pull out the AC Adapter and cord (Figure AC.4). 6. Reattach the bottom panel to the stand. Tighten all screws. To connect the AC Adapter outside of the stand, plug the AC Adapter cord to the back of the monitor "DC in" (Figure AC.5). 7. Reverse this process to reinstall the AC Adapter inside the monitor stand.
CAUTION
Please use only the supplied AC Adapter (#A2425S01).

Controls
INPUT SELECT If no OSM menu is displayed, video input and USB upstream can be changed by pressing the PROCEED button. : Changes only video : Changes video and USB OSMTM (On-Screen-Manager) Controls To acess OSM press any of control buttons ( , , , ). The OSM controls on the front of the monitor function as follows:
Control EXIT CONTROL / Main Menu Exits the OSM controls. Moves the highlighted area up/down to select one of the controls. Proceeds to the selected menu choice (indicated by the highlighted area) Has no function Resets the highlighted control menu to the factory setting. Sub-Menu Exits to the OSM controls main menu. Moves the highlighted area up/down to select one of the controls. Moves the bar in the + or  direction to increase or decrease the adjustment. Activates Auto Adjust feature. In Tools and Information Mode, opens additional window. Resets the highlighted control to the factory setting.

NOTE: When RESET is pressed, a warning window will appear allowing you to cancel the reset function.
Brightness and Contrast Brightness: Adjusts the overall image and background screen brightness. Contrast: Adjusts the image brightness in relation to the background. Auto Adjust: Corrects the image displayed for non-standard video inputs. Auto Adjust Allows adjust the Position and H. Size and Fine settings. Position Controls horizontal and vertical image position within the display area of the LCD. Auto Adjust: Automatically sets the horizontal and vertical image position within the display area of the LCD. Image Adjust H.SIZE: Adjusts the horizontal size by increasing or decreasing this setting. Fine: Improves focus, clarity and image stability by increasing or decreasing the Fine setting. Auto Adjust:Automatically adjusts H.Size or Fine settings.

AccuColor® Control System Five color presets select the desired color setting. If a setting is adjusted, the name of the setting will change to Custom. Color Gain (Red, Green, Blue): Increases or decreases Red, Green or Blue color depending upon which is selected. The change in color will appear on screen and the direction (increase or decrease) will be shown by the color bars. Tools Language Select: OSM control menus are available in seven languages. OSMTM Position: You can choose where you would like the OSM control image to appear on your screen. Selecting OSM Location allows you to manually adjust the position of the OSM control menu left, right, up or down. OSM Turn Off: The OSM control menu will stay on as long as it is in use. In the OSM Turn Off submenu, you can select how long the monitor waits after the last touch of a button to shut off the OSM control menu. The preset choices are 10, 20, 30, 60 and 120 seconds. OSM Lock Out: This control completely locks out access to all OSM control functions. When attempting to activate OSM controls while in the Lock Out mode, a screen will appear indicating the OSM controls are locked out. To activate the OSM Lock Out function, press PROCEED, then and hold down simultaneously. To de-activate the OSM Lock Out, press PROCEED, then and hold down simultaneously. Factory Preset: Selecting Factory Preset allows you to reset all OSM control settings back to the factory settings. The RESET button will need to be held down for several seconds to take effect. Individual settings can be reset by highlighting the control to be reset and pressing the RESET button. Resolution Notifier: This optimal resolution is 1280 x 1024. If ON is selected, a message will appear on the screen after 2 minutes, notifying you that the resolution is not at 1280 x 1024. Information Shows the selected video input and USB upstream. Display Mode: Provides information about the current resolution display and technical data including the preset timing being used and the horizontal and vertical frequencies.
