The green lamp lights when the focus and exposure are locked (focus lock). Now press the shutter button all the way (completely) to take the picture. Press the shutter button completely to start recording, and press the shutter button again to stop recording. 3 K button (Shooting) Selecting shooting mode/turning on the power Switching to the shooting mode. While the camera is off, it can be set to turn on in shooting mode when K is pressed. g "K/q Turning on the camera with the K or q button" (P. 26) 4 q button (Playback) Selecting playback mode/turning on the power Switches to the playback mode and the last picture taken is displayed. · Press the arrow pad to view other pictures. · Use the zoom lever to switch among close-up playback and index display. · Press H to delete the information display shown for 3 seconds during single-frame playback. Y: Brightens. X: Darkens. For manually making fine adjustments to the exposure when taking pictures. Activate the setting contents. Button operations SET OK Playback mode: Printing pictures Display a picture to print out in playback mode, connect the camera to the printer, and then press OF/< to print the picture. g "Direct printing (PictBridge)" (P. 28) a X& button Shooting pictures close to the subject Press X& in shooting mode to select the macro mode. Press H to confirm your selection. OFF MACRO OFF & % MACRO SUPER MACRO Macro mode is deactivated. This mode lets you shoot as close as 10 cm/3.9 in. (wide) and 60 cm/23.6 in. (tele) from your subject. This mode lets you shoot as close as 5 cm/2.0 in. from your subject. Zoom position is automatically set and cannot be changed. 14 EN b NY button Self-timer shooting Press NY in shooting mode to select on and off of the self-timer. Press H to confirm your selection. OFF SELFTIMER OFF Y SELFTIMER ON Cancel the self-timer. Set the self-timer. · After setting the self-timer, press the shutter button completely. Then the self-timer lamp lights for approximately 10 seconds, blinks for approximately 2 seconds, and the shutter is released. · To cancel the self-timer, press NY. · Self-timer shooting is automatically canceled after one shot. c Y# button Press Y#in shooting mode to select the flash setting. Press H to confirm your selection. AUTO ! # $ FLASH AUTO REDEYE FILL IN FLASH OFF Flash shooting The flash fires automatically in low light or backlight conditions. This emits pre-flashes to reduce the occurrence of redeye in your pictures. The flash fires regardless of the available light.
