1. Removethelenscap. 2. Ensurethatthepowercordandsignalcablearesecurely connected.ThePowerLEDwillFlash Green. 3. Turnonthelampbypressing"Power/Standby"buttonon thecontrolpanel.AndthePowerLEDwillturnGreen. The first time you use the projector, you can select your preferredlanguagefromquickmenuafterthestartupscreen display. 4. Turn on your source (computer, notebook, video player,etc.). Theprojectorwilldetectyoursourceautomatically. Ifyouconnectmultiplesourcesatthesametime,usethe "Source"buttononthecontrolpanelorremotecontrolto switch.

Powering Off the Projector
1. Pressthe"Power/Standby"buttontoturnofftheprojector lamp,youwillseeamessage" "
displayedontheprojector'sscreen.Pressthe"Power/ Standby" button again to confirm, otherwise the message willdisappearafter5seconds. Pleasenotethatifthe keyispressedinstead,theprojectorwillenterthe"PictureMute"modeandnoimagewill bedisplayed.Toexitthe"PictureMute"mode,pressthe "Power/Standby"buttonagain. 2. Thecoolingfanscontinuetooperateforabout30seconds forcoolingcycleandthePowerLEDwillturngreen.When the Power LED begins flashing, the projector has entered standbymode. Ifyouwishtoturntheprojectorbackon,youmustwait untiltheprojectorhascompletedthecoolingcycleandhas enteredstandbymode.Onceinstandbymode,simplypress "Power/Standby"buttontorestarttheprojector. 3. Disconnectthepowercordfromtheelectricaloutletandthe projector. 4. Donotturnontheprojectorimmediatelyfollowingapower offprocedure.

Whenthe"LAMP"indicatorlightssolidred,theprojector willautomaticallyshutitselfdown.Pleasecontactyourlocal resellerorservicecenter.Seepage38. Whenthe"TEMP"indicatorlightssolidredforabout60 seconds,itindicatestheprojectorhasbeenoverheated.The projectorwillautomaticallyshutitselfdown. "Frequency"changesthedisplaydatafrequencytomatchthefrequencyofyourcomputer'sgraphiccard.Ifyouexperienceavertical flickering bar, use this function to make an adjustment.
"Frequency","Phase" ,"H.Position"and "V.Position"function areonlysupported underVideomode.
Phase
"Phase"synchronizesthesignaltimingofthedisplaywiththe graphic card. If you experience an unstable or flickering image, use thisfunctiontocorrectit.
H.Position (Horizontal Position) Pressthe tomovetheimageleft. Pressthe tomovetheimageright. V. Position (Vertical Position) Pressthe tomovetheimagedown. Pressthe tomovetheimageup. Degamma
This allows you to choose a degamma table that has been finetunedtobringoutthebestimagequalityfortheinput.
AspectRatio
Usethisfunctiontochooseyourdesiredaspectratio.
4:3 : The input source will be scaled to fit the projection screen. 16:9 : The input source will be scaled to fit the width of the
screen.
LBX:Thisformatisfornon-16x9,letterboxsourceandforusers
whouseexternal16x9lenstodisplay2.35:1aspectratiousing fullresolution. the "Window" mode to fit the image onto the screen without changingtheprojectiondistance.

Each display mode (Present/ Bright/ Movie/ sRGB/ User) has its owncolortemperatureandcanmemorizeuser'sselection. Whenyouadjustthecolorsettingitem,thecolortemperaturewill besetas"User"automatically.Andthisset"User"isthesamefor alldisplaymode. Differentcolorsettingwillbememorizedat4differentsource groups.Buttheywillbesameundersamesource. 1.DVI/VGA 2. Component-p (480p/576p/720p/1080i) 3. Component-i (480i/576i) 4.Video/S-Video Whenweadjustcolorsettingthecurrentcolortemperaturewillbe memorizedbeforeitautoswitchto"User".Becausethememorizedcolortemperaturewillbeabaseof"User".Forexample: 1.) Colour temp. is Low. 2.) User create his favorite color based on "Low" setting of colour temperature.Sowhenuserswitch"Colourtemp."to"User", will find the image color temperature close to "Low".

Troubleshooting
If you experience trouble with the projector, refer to the following information. If the problem persists, please contact your local reseller or service center.
Problem: No image appears on screen
Ensureallthecablesandpowerconnectionsarecorrectlyand
securelyconnectedasdescribedinthe"Installation"section. Ensurethepinsofconnectorsarenotcrookedorbroken. Checkiftheprojectionlamphasbeensecurelyinstalled.Please refertothe"Replacingthelamp"section. Makesureyouhaveremovedthelenscapandtheprojectoris switchedon. Ensurethatthe"Hide"featureisnotturnedon.
Problem: Partial, scrolling or incorrectly displayed image
Press"Re-Sync"ontheremotecontrolorcontrolpanel. IfyouareusingaPC:
ForWindows3.x: 1. IntheWindowsProgramManager,doubleclickthe"Windows Setup"iconintheMaingroup. 2. Verifythatyourdisplayresolutionsettingislessthanorequal to1280x1024. ForWindows95,98,2000,XP: 1. Openthe"MyComputer"icon,the"ControlPanel"folder,and thendoubleclickonthe"Display"icon. 2. Selectthe"Settings"tab 3. Clickonthe"AdvancedProperties"button. If the projector is still not projecting the whole image, you will also need to change the monitor display you are using. Refer to the following steps. 4. Verifytheresolutionsettingislessthanorequalto1280x1024 resolution.

If you experience difficulty changing resolutions or your monitor

Problem: The screen of the Notebook or PowerBook computer is not displaying a presentation
IfyouareusingaNotebookPC:
SomeNotebookPCsmaydeactivatetheirownscreenswhena seconddisplaydeviceisinuse.Eachhasadifferentwaytobe reactivated.Refertoyourcomputer'sdocumentationfordetailed information.
Problem: Image is unstable or flickering
Use"Phase"tocorrectit. Changethemonitorcolorsettingfromyourcomputer.
Problem: Image has vertical flickering bar
Use"Frequency"tomakeanadjustment. Check and reconfigure the display mode of your graphic card to
makeitcompatiblewiththeproduct.
Problem: Image is out of focus
AdjuststheFocusRingontheprojectorlens.

Makesuretheprojectionscreenisbetweentherequireddistance
Problem: The image is stretched when displaying 16:9 DVD
Theprojectorautomaticallydetects16:9DVDandadjuststheaspect ratiobydigitizingtofullscreenwith4:3defaultsetting. Iftheimageisstillstretched,youwillalsoneedtoadjusttheaspect ratiobyreferringtothefollowing: 4.9 to 39.4 feet (1.5 to 12.0 meters) from the projector. See page 16.
Pleaseselect4:3aspectratiotypeonyourDVDplayerifyouare
playinga16:9DVD. Ifyoucan'tselect4:3aspectratiotypeonyourDVDplayer,please select4:3aspectratiointheonscreenmenu.
Problem: Image is reversed
Select"ManagementProjection"fromtheOSDandadjustthe
projectiondirection.
Problem: Lamp burns out or makes a popping sound
Whenthelampreachesitsendoflife,itwillburnoutandmay
makealoudpoppingsound.Ifthishappens,theprojectorwillnot turnonuntilthelampmodulehasbeenreplaced.Toreplacethe lamp,followtheproceduresinthe"ReplacingtheLamp".

Lamp Replacing Procedure:
Warning:To reducetheriskof personalinjury,donot dropthelampmodule ortouchthelampbulb. Thebulbmayshatter andcauseinjuryifitis dropped.
1. TurnoffthepowertotheprojectorbypressingthePower/ Standbybutton. 2. Allowtheprojectortocooldownatleast30minutes. 3. Disconnectthepowercord. 4. Useascrewdrivertoremovethescrewfromthecover. 5. Pushupandremovethecover. 6. Removethe2screwsfromthelampmodule. 7.Pulloutthelampmodule. To replace the lamp module, reverse the previous steps.
