Common Questions
Common Questions
Why can't I find navigator on my Home screen? The expansion card containing TomTom Navigator must be inserted in your device for you to see the icon on the Home screen. When you insert the card, the navigator icon appears in alphabetical order on the Home screen. What's the best way to shut down when I'm finished using navigator? There is no preferred way to shut down, but here's what we suggest: (1) return to the Home screen, (2) wait for the blue light on the GPS receiver to return to a slow blink (once every three seconds), (3) turn off your device, and (4) turn off the GPS receiver. How do I add more maps to the expansion card on which navigator is installed? First make sure that the expansion card has sufficient space for additional maps. Then insert CD#1 into your computer CD drive, and select Add maps. Follow the onscreen instructions to install the maps onto the expansion card.
NOTE If your computer has a memory card reader, you can use it to copy map files from the CD to the expansion card on which you have TomTom Navigator installed. This method is faster than synchronizing.
GPS navigator by palmOne 29
Common Questions
What if I can't fit all the maps I need onto one expansion card? If you don't have sufficient space on one expansion card for all the maps you need, simply install TomTom Navigator and the remaining maps onto another card. Use the same activation code for all installations.
NOTE The TomTom Navigator software runs from the expansion card--it is not copied to your device. To use TomTom Navigator, a card must contain a copy of the navigator software and at least one map.
What is the "passkey" I'm asked to enter when setting up the GPS receiver? The passkey for the GPS receiver is 6268. You should only need to enter the passcode the first time you establish a Bluetooth connection between your device and the receiver. Should I keep my device and the GPS receiver connected to the car charger while they are in use? It's a good idea to keep both your device and the GPS receiver connected while using them in the car. This prevents the batteries from getting too low for the Bluetooth connection to function.

Common Questions
How do I use another voice on navigator? To use a different voice on navigator, you first need to install another voice onto the navigator expansion card. Insert CD#1 into your computer CD drive and select Add voice. Follow the onscreen instructions to install additional voices onto the expansion card. Insert the card into your device and start navigator. Tap the screen to display the main menu. Select Change Preferences, and then select Change Voice . Select the voice you want to use. Can I use TomTom Navigator and maps on more than one palmOne device? You can use TomTom Navigator and maps on two palmOne devices. You must wait one week after installing TomTom Navigator on the first device before you can install it on a second device. During the installation process, you will be instructed to go to the www.ttcode.com website to receive the activation code for the second device. Be sure to write down the activation code and indicate which device it is for. The activation code links the navigator software and maps to a specific device, so each device must have its own set of navigator cards. You cannot use the same cards in both devices. Can I view navigator in full-screen mode on my TungstenTM T3 handheld? To use the Tungsten T3 handheld in full-screen mode you need to install a software patch which is available from the support section of the TomTom website, www.tomtom.com.
