Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRU520 universal remote control. After installing the remote control you can operate a maximum of 2 different devices with it:TV and VCR/DVD players/recorders. You can find information about how to prepare this remote control for use in the chapter `Installing the remote control'. 2. Installing the remote control Inserting the batteries 1 Press the cover inwards and slide it 2 3 in the direction of the arrow. Place two AAA type batteries into the battery compartment, as shown. Slide the cover back and click it firmly into place. Note: If the mode keys (TV and DVD/VCR) blink four times after every key press, the remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries. Testing the remote control The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips devices. Because the SRU520 may use different signals for each brand and even for different models of the same brand, it is advisable to test whether your device responds to the SRU520.The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (VCR/DVD players/recorders) which you want to operate using the SRU520. Example of TV: 1 Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control. Tune to channel 1. 2 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. ­ If the key does not light up, check whether the batteries are properly inserted (see `Inserting the batteries'). If the TV responds as it should to all of the key commands the SRU520 is ready for use. If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands, follow the instructions under `Setting the remote control', or for online setup go to: www.philips.com/urc. · Setting the remote control This is only necessary if your device does not respond to the SRU520. If that is the case, the SRU520 does not recognize the brand and/or model of your device and you need to program the remote control to do so. The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (VCR/DVD players/recorders) which you want to operate using the SRU520. You can set the remote control either automatically or manually. Automatically setting the remote control The remote control will now automatically search for the right code for your device. Example of TV: 1 Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using the original remote control or the keys on the TV (for example channel 1). The SRU520 emits the `switch off TV' signal for all models of TV that are stored in the memory. · If the device is a DVD-player or video recorder, insert a disk or tape and start playback. 2 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. 3 Then keep keys 1 and 3 on the SRU520 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the key flashes twice and then remains lit. 4 Press and hold the Standby key of the SRU520. ­ The SRU520 now starts emitting all known `TV off ' signals, one by one. Each time a code is sent, the TV key lights up. SRU520_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:38 Pagina 6 Instructions for use 5 ­ When your TV switches off (stand-by), release the Standby key of the SRU520 immediately. The SRU520 has now found a code that works on your TV. Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU520. If this is not the case, you can redo the automatic setting. The SRU520 will then search for a code that works better. After the SRU520 has run through all the known codes, the search will stop automatically and the TV button stops flashing. Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 5 minutes. For VCR/DVD this time is 2 minutes. English 6 6 · ­ ­ Manually setting the remote control Example of TV: 1 Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control. Tune in to channel 1. 2 Look up the brand of your TV in the code list at the back of this manual. One or more four-figure codes are shown for each brand. Note the first code. Be careful! There are separate tables for TV, VCR and DVD. On our website www.philips.com/urc you can directly select your device typenumber to find the right code. Make sure you use the codes from the correct table. 3 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. 4 Keep keys 1 and 3 pressed simultaneously for three seconds until the TV key flashes twice and then remains lit. 5 ­ 6 ­ Then enter the code noted in step 2 using the digit keys. The TV key will now flash twice. If the key flashes once for an extended period, the code has not been entered properly or the wrong code has been entered. Start again from step 2. Point the SRU520 at the TV and check that it responds as it should. If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU520 is ready for use. Do not forget to note your code. Extra possibilities Adjusting device selection (Mode keys) The SRU520 is default set for operating TV,VCR or DVD.You can select the device you wish to operate with TV and DVD/VCR selection buttons. Each key allows operation of one device only. If desired, you can program the keys to select a different kind of device. For example, if you want to operate a second TV. In the following example you will see how to configure the VCR/DVD key for a second TV. English 8 1 2 Switch on the second TV. Press the DVD/VCR key to select DVD/VCR. Press the key until the it lights up. 3 Then keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU520 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the VCR/DVD key lights up. 4 Press keys 9, 9 and 2, in that order. 5 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. 6 ­ Press the 1 key. The VCR/DVD key flashes twice. The VCR/DVD key will now allow you to operate your second TV. Program the SRU520 to operate the second TV. See `Setting the remote control'. 7 Adding a function to the remote control If you want to add a function to the SRU520, you can contact the Philips service line for Universal Remote Control to ask for the 5-figure code for the extra function. SRU520_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:38 Pagina 9 Instructions for use English 9 Restoring the original functions of your remote control 1 Keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU520 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the mode key (TV or DVD/VCR) flashes twice and then remains lit. 2 ­ Press keys 9, 8 and 1 in that order. The mode key (TV or DVD/VCR) key flashes twice. All original functions have now been restored and any extra functions have been deleted. 5. Troubleshooting · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ Problem Solution The mode keys (TV and DVD/VCR) blink four times after every key press. The remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new 1.5 Volt, AAA batteries. The device you want to operate does not respond and the mode key (TV or DVD/VCR) does not flash when you press a key. Replace the old batteries with two new 1.5 Volt, AAA batteries. The device you want to operate does not respond but the mode key (TV or DVD/VCR) does flash when a key is pressed. Point the SRU520 at the device and make sure that there are no obstructions between the SRU520 and the device. The SRU520 does not respond properly to commands. Maybe you are using the wrong code. Try programming the SRU520 again using another code, which is mentioned under the brand of your device, or reset for automatic search to find the right code. If the device still does not respond, call our helpline. The Teletext keys do not work. Find out whether your TV is equipped with Teletext. You have difficulties operating all of the functions on your device. Maybe the SRU520 has to be adapted to the model of the device. Call our helpline for details. Your brand of device is not in the code list. Try to set the SRU520 automatically. See `Automatically setting the remote control'. None of the codes works during manual setting of the remote control. Introduzione Congratulazioni per l'acquisto del telecomando universale Philips SRU520. Dopo aver installato il telecomando si possono azionare fino a 2 apparecchi diversi con esso:TV e lettori/registratori VCR/DVD. Nel capitolo `Installazione del telecomando' troverete le informazioni necessarie per preparare il telecomando all'uso. 2. Installazione del telecomando Inserimento delle batterie 1 Premete sul coperchio e fatelo scorrere 2 3 nella direzione della freccia. Inserite due batterie AAA nel vano batterie, come illustrato. Richiudete il coperchio (scatta in posizione con un clic). Nota: Se i tasti di modalità (TV e DVD/VCR) lampeggiano quattro volte dopo ogni volta che si preme un tasto, il telecomando indica che le batterie si stanno scaricando. Sostituite le batterie con due nuove del tipo AAA. Collaudo del telecomando Il telecomando è stato programmato per funzionare con la maggioranza degli apparecchi Philips. Poiché l'SRU520 potrebbe utilizzare segnali differenti per ciascuna marca e modello, è opportuno verificare se l'apparecchio risponde ai comandi inviati dall'SRU520. L'esempio che segue (TV) descrive la procedura per il collaudo. Potete ripetere questi passaggi per gli altri apparecchi (Lettori/registratori VCR/DVD) che intendete controllare con l'SRU520. Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore: 1 Accendete il televisore direttamente o tramite il suo telecomando originale. Sintonizzate il canale 1. 2 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Per una panoramica sui tasti e le relative funzioni, consultate `3.Tasti e funzioni'. Se il TV risponde correttamente a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l'SRU520 è pronto per l'uso. Se l'apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, passate alle istruzioni descritte in `Configurazione del telecomando', oppure per l'impostazione in linea andate al sito: www.philips.com/urc. · Configurazione del telecomando Questa procedura va svolta solo se l'apparecchio non risponde ai comandi inviati dall'SRU520. Se ciò accade significa che l'SRU520 non riconosce la marca e/o il modello dell'apparecchio ed è quindi necessario programmare il telecomando in base alle specifiche dell'apparecchio. L'esempio che segue (TV) descrive la procedura di configurazione. Potete ripetere questi passaggi per gli altri apparecchi (Lettori/registratori VCR/DVD) che intendete controllare con l'SRU520. Potete programmare il telecomando sia automaticamente che manualmente. Impostazione automatica del telecomando Il telecomando ora effettuerà la ricerca automatica del corretto codice per il vostro apparecchio. Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore: 1 Assicuratevi che il TV sia acceso e selezionate un canale mediante il suo telecomando originale, od i tasti del pannello del televisore (ad esempio il canale 1). L'SRU520 procederà con l'invio del segnale di `spegnimento TV' di tutti i modelli di televisore presenti nella sua memoria. · Se l'apparecchio è un lettore DVD od un videoregistratore, inserite un disco od un nastro ed avviate la riproduzione. 2 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 3 Quindi tenete i tasti 1 e 3 sull'RU520 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il LED lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. 4 Premete e tenete premuto il tasto dell'SRU520. ­ L'SRU520 inizia ad inviare tutti i segnali noti di `spegnimento TV', uno alla volta. Ogni volta che viene inviato un codice, il tasto TV si illumina. SRU520_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:39 Pagina 13 Instruzioni per l'uso 5 ­ Quando il televisore si spegne (standby), rilasciate immediatamente il tasto standby del telecomando SRU520. Il telecomando SRU520 a questo punto ha trovato un codice che funziona con la TV. Verificate se l'SRU520 è in grado di controllare tutte le funzioni del televisore. In caso contrario, ripetete la procedura di configurazione automatica. L'SRU520 quindi ricercherà un codice che funziona meglio. Quando l'SRU520 ha inviato tutti i codici noti, la ricerca si arresta automaticamente ed il tasto TV cessa di lampeggiare. La programmazione automatica di una TV impiega massimo 5 minuti. Per VCR/DVD questo tempo è di 2 minuti. 6 · ­ ­ Impostazione manuale del telecomando Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore: 1 Accendete il televisore direttamente o tramite il suo telecomando originale. Sintonizzate il canale 1. 2 Individuate la marca del vostro TV nella lista dei codici inclusa alla fine di questa guida. Per ciascuna marca sono elencati uno o più codici a quattro cifre. Annotate il primo codice. Prestate attenzione! Vi sono tabelle separate per TV, VCR e DVD. Sul nostro sito www.philips.com/urc potete selezionare direttamente il numero dell'apparecchio per trovare il codice giusto. Prelevate i codici dalla tabella corretta. Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 3 4 Tenere i tasti 1 e 3 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto TV lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. 5 ­ 6 ­ A questo punto inserite il codice annotato al punto 2, mediante i tasti numerici. Il tasto TV a questo punto lampeggerà due volte. Se il tasto lampeggia una volta per un periodo prolungato, non è stato inserito correttamente il codice oppure si tratta di un codice errato. Ripetete la procedura a partire dal punto 2. Puntate l'SRU520 in direzione del TV e verificate se l'apparecchio risponde correttamente ai comandi inviati. Se il TV risponde a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l'SRU520 è pronto per l'uso. Non scordate di annotare il codice. Funzioni aggiuntive Selezione dell'apparecchio controllato (Tasti di modalità) Il telecomando SRU520 è stato impostato per azionamento di default TV, VCR o DVD. Potete selezionare l'apparecchio che desiderate azionare con i pulsanti di selezione TV e DVD/VCR. Ogni tasto consente l'azionamento di un solo apparecchio. Se desiderato, potete programmare i tasti per selezionare un apparecchio diverso. Ad esempio, un secondo TV. Nel seguente esempio vedrete il modo in cui configurare il tasto VCR/DVD per un secondo TV. Italiano 15 1 2 Accendete il secondo TV. Premete il tasto DVD/VCR per selezionare DVD/VCR.. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 3 Quindi tenete i tasti 1 e 6 sull'SRU520 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto VCR/DVD lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. 4 Premete i tasti 9, 9 e 2, in questo ordine. 5 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 6 ­ Premete il tasto 1. Il tasto VCR/DVD lampeggia due volte. Il tasto VCR/DVD ora vi consente di azionare la secondo TV. 7 Programmate l'SRU520 per controllare il secondo TV. Vedi `Configurazione del telecomando'. Aggiungere una funzione al telecomando Per aggiungere una funzione all'SRU520, contattate il servizio di assistenza Philips per i telecomandi universali per richiedere il codice a 5 cifre riservato alle funzioni aggiuntive. Depois de instalar o telecomando, pode comandar um máximo de 2 aparelhos diferentes: televisor e leitores/gravadores de vídeo/DVD. Instalar o telecomando Inserir as pilhas 1 Carregue na tampa para dentro e faça-a 2 3 deslizar na direcção da seta. Coloque duas pilhas tipo AAA no compartimento das pilhas, conforme indicado. Faça deslizar a tampa para a posição inicial até ouvir um estalido. Nota: Se as teclas de modo (TV e DVD/VCR) piscam quatro vezes sempre que carrega numa tecla, o telecomando está a indicar que as pilhas estão a ficar fracas. Substitua as pilhas velhas por duas pilhas AAA novas. Testar o telecomando O telecomando da Philips foi programado para comandar a maioria dos aparelhos da Philips. Sintonize para o canal 1. 2 Procure a marca do seu televisor na lista de códigos no verso deste manual. Cada marca tem um ou mais códigos com quatro dígitos. Tome nota do primeiro código. Pode seleccionar o aparelho que deseja comandar utilizando os botões de selecção TV e DVD/VCR. Cada tecla permite comandar um único aparelho. Se o desejar, pode programar as teclas para seleccionar um tipo de aparelho diferente. Por exemplo, se quiser utilizar um outro televisor. Resolução de problemas · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ Problema Solução As teclas de modo (TV e DVD/VCR) am quatro vezes sempre que carrega numa tecla. O telecomando está a indicar que as pilhas estão a ficar fracas. Substitua as pilhas velhas por duas pilhas novas tipo AAA de 1,5 volts. O aparelho que deseja comandar não responde e a tecla de modo (TV ou DVD/VCR) não pisca quando pressiona uma tecla. Substitua as pilhas velhas por duas pilhas novas tipo AAA de 1,5 volts.
