Introduction Congratulations on your purchase of the Philips SRU530 universal remote control. After installing the remote control you can operate a maximum of 3 different devices with it:TV, DVD plyer/recorder and VCR. You can find information about how to prepare this remote control for use in the chapter `Installing the remote control'. 2. Installing the remote control Inserting the batteries 1 Press the cover inwards and slide it in the 2 3 direction of the arrow. Place two AAA type batteries into the battery compartment, as shown. Slide the cover back and click it firmly into place. Note: If the mode keys (TV, DVD and VCR) blink four times after every key press, the remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries. Testing the remote control The remote control has been programmed to operate most Philips devices. Because the SRU530 may use different signals for each brand and even for different models of the same brand, it is advisable to test whether your device responds to the SRU530.The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (DVD player/ recorder and VCR) which you want to operate using the SRU530. Example of TV: 1 Turn your TV on manually or use the original remote control. Tune to channel 1. 2 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. ­ If the key does not light up, check whether the batteries are properly inserted (see `Inserting the batteries'). If the TV responds as it should to all of the key commands the SRU530 is ready for use. If the device does not respond at all or not to all of the key commands, follow the instructions under `Setting the remote control', or for online setup go to: www.philips.com/urc. · Setting the remote control This is only necessary if your device does not respond to the SRU530. If that is the case, the SRU530 does not recognize the brand and/or model of your device and you need to program the remote control to do so. The example below (TV) instructs you how to do this.You can repeat the same steps for other devices (DVD player/recorder and VCR) which you want to operate using the SRU530. You can set the remote control either automatically or manually. Automatically setting the remote control The remote control will now automatically search for the right code for your device. Example of TV: 1 Make sure the TV is switched on and select a channel using the original remote control or the keys on the TV (for example channel 1). The SRU530 emits the `switch off TV' signal for all models of TV that are stored in the memory. · If the device is a DVD-player/recorder or video recorder, insert a disk or tape and start playback. 2 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. 3 Then keep keys 1 and 3 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the TV key flashes twice and then remains lit. SRU530_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:25 Pagina 6 Instructions for use 4 Press and hold the Standby key of the SRU530. English 6 ­ The SRU530 now starts emitting all known `TV off ' signals, one by one. Each time a code is sent, the TV key lights up. 5 ­ 6 · When your TV switches off (stand-by), release the Standby key of the SRU530 immediately. The SRU530 has now found a code that works on your TV. Check if you can operate all functions on your TV with the SRU530. If this is not the case, you can redo the automatic setting. The SRU530 will then search for a code that works better. After the SRU530 has run through all the known codes, the search will stop automatically and the TV key stops flashing. Automatic programming of a TV takes a maximum of 5 minutes. For DVD and VCR this time is 2 minutes. ­ ­ Manually setting the remote control Example of TV: 1 Turn on the TV manually or use the original remote control. Tune in to channel 1. 2 Look up the brand of your TV in the code list at the back of this manual. One or more four-figure codes are shown for each brand. Note the first code. Be careful! There are separate tables for TV, DVD and VCR. On our website www.philips.com/urc you can directly select your device typenumber to find the right code. Make sure you use the codes from the correct table. 3 Press the TV key to select TV. Press the key until it lights up. 4 Keep keys 1 and 3 pressed simultaneously for three seconds until the TV key flashes twice and then remains lit. If the key flashes once for an extended period, the code has not been entered properly or the wrong code has been entered. Start again from step 2. Point the SRU530 at the TV and check that it responds as it should. If the TV responds to all of the key commands, the SRU530 is ready for use. Do not forget to note your code. If the device does not respond at all, or not to all of the key commands, start again from step 2 and try the next code from the list. · 3. When pressed at the same time as a second key, the second key will get another function. All blue labelled keys can be used together with SHIFT. It is possible that you must enter another code for the device. English 8 4. Extra possibilities Adjusting device selection (Mode keys) The SRU530 is default set for operating TV, DVD or VCR.You can select the device you wish to operate with the TV, DVD and VCR keys. Each key allows operation of one device only. If desired, you can program the keys to select a different kind of device. For example, if you want to operate a second TV. In the following example you will see how to configure the DVD key for a second TV. 1 2 Switch on the second TV. Press the DVD key to select DVD. Press the key until it lights up. 3 Then keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the DVD key lights up. 4 Press keys 9, 9 and 2 in that order. The DVD key will now allow you to operate your second TV. Program the SRU530 to operate the second TV. See `Setting the remote control'. Adding a function to the remote control If you want to add a function to the SRU530, you can contact the Philips service line for Universal Remote Control to ask for the 5-figure code for the extra function. Restoring the original functions of your remote control 1 Keep keys 1 and 6 on the SRU530 pressed simultaneously for three seconds, until the mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) flashes twice and then remains lit. 2 ­ Press keys 9, 8 and 1, in that order. The mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) flashes twice. All original functions have now been restored and any extra functions have been deleted. SRU530_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:25 Pagina 10 Instructions for use 5. Troubleshooting · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ Problem Solution The mode keys (TV and DVD/VCR) blink four times after every key press. The remote control is indicating that its batteries are running low. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries. The device you want to operate does not respond and the mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) does not flash when you press a key. Replace the old batteries with two new AAA batteries. The device you want to operate does not respond but the mode key (TV, DVD or VCR) does flash when a key is pressed. Point the SRU530 at the device and make sure that there are no obstructions between the SRU530 and the device. The SRU530 does not respond properly to commands. Maybe you are using the wrong code. Try programming the SRU530 again using another code, which is mentioned under the brand of your device, or reset for automatic search to find the right code. If the device still does not respond, call our helpline. The Teletext keys do not work. Find out whether your TV is equipped with Teletext. Maybe the SRU530 has to be adapted to the model of the device. Call our helpline for details. Your brand of device is not in the code list. Try to set the SRU530 automatically. See `Automatically setting the remote control'. None of the codes works during manual setting of the remote control. If that is the case, follow the instructions under `Automatically setting the remote control'. English 10 · ­ ­ · ­ · ­ 6. Need help? Introduzione Congratulazioni per l'acquisto del telecomando universale SRU530. Dopo aver installato il telecomando potete utilizzarlo per azionare fino a 3 apparecchi diversi: una TV, un lettore/registratore di DVD e un VCR. Nel capitolo `Installazione del telecomando' troverete le informazioni necessarie per preparare il telecomando all'uso. 2. Installazione del telecomando Inserimento delle batterie 1 Premete sul coperchio e fatelo scorrere 2 nella direzione della freccia. Inserite due batterie AAA nel vano batterie, come illustrato. 3 Slide the cover back and click it firmly into place. Per una panoramica sui tasti e le relative funzioni, consultate `3.Tasti e funzioni'. Se il TV risponde correttamente a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l'SRU530 è pronto per l'uso. Se l'apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, passate alle istruzioni descritte in `Configurazione del telecomando', oppure per l'impostazione in linea andate al sito: www.philips.com/urc. · Configurazione del telecomando Questa procedura va svolta solo se l'apparecchio non risponde ai comandi inviati dall'RU530. Se ciò accade significa che l'RU530 non riconosce la marca e/o il modello dell'apparecchio ed è quindi necessario programmare il telecomando in base alle specifiche dell'apparecchio. L'esempio che segue (TV) descrive la procedura di configurazione. Potete ripetere le stesse operazioni per altri apparecchi (lettore/registratore di DVD e VCR) che desiderate azionare utilizzando l'SRU530. Potete programmare il telecomando sia automaticamente che manualmente. Impostazione automatica del telecomando Il telecomando ora effettuerà la ricerca automatica del corretto codice per il vostro apparecchio. Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore: 1 Assicuratevi che il TV sia acceso e selezionate un canale mediante il suo telecomando originale, od i tasti del pannello del televisore (ad esempio il canale 1). L'SRU530 procederà con l'invio del segnale di `spegnimento TV' di tutti i modelli di televisore presenti nella sua memoria. · Se l'apparecchio è un lettore di DVD o un VCR, inserite un disco o un nastro ed iniziate la riproduzione. 2 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 3 Tenete i tasti 1 e 3 sull'SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto TV lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. SRU530_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:26 Pagina 13 Instruzioni per l'uso 4 Premete e tenete premuto il tasto tasto dell'SRU530. ­ L'SRU530 inizia ad inviare tutti i segnali noti di `spegnimento TV', uno alla volta. Ogni volta che viene inviato un codice, il tasto TV si illumina. 5 - 6 · Quando il televisore si spegne (standby), rilasciate immediatamente il tasto standby del telecomando SRU530. L'SRU530 ha quindi trovato un codice adatto al vostro TV. Verificate se l'SRU530 è in grado di controllare tutte le funzioni del televisore. Nel caso contrario, potete ripetere l'impostazione. L'SRU530 quindi ricercherà un codice che funziona meglio. Quando l'SRU530 ha inviato tutti i codici noti, la ricerca si arresta automaticamente ed il tasto TV cessa di lampeggiare. La programmazione automatica di una TV impiega massimo 5 minuti. Per DVD e VCR questo impiega 2 minuti. ­ ­ Impostazione manuale del telecomando Procedura di esempio relativa ad un televisore: 1 Accendete il televisore direttamente o tramite il suo telecomando originale. Sintonizzate il canale 1. 2 Individuate la marca del vostro TV nella lista dei codici inclusa alla fine di questa guida. Per ciascuna marca sono elencati uno o più codici a quattro cifre. Annotate il primo codice. Fate attenzione! Vi sono tabelle separate per TV, DVD e VCR. Sul nostro sito www.philips.com/urc potete selezionare direttamente il numero dell'apparecchio per trovare il codice giusto. Prelevate i codici dalla tabella corretta. 3 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 13 Italiano SRU530_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:26 Pagina 14 Instruzioni per l'uso 4 Tenete i tasti 1 e 3 sull'SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto TV lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. Italiano 14 5 ­ 6 ­ A questo punto inserite il codice annotato al punto 2, mediante i tasti numerici. Il tasto TV a questo punto lampeggerà due volte. Se il tasto lampeggia una volta per un periodo prolungato, non è stato inserito correttamente il codice oppure si tratta di un codice errato. Ripetete la procedura a partire dal punto 2. Puntate l'SRU530 in direzione del TV e verificate se l'apparecchio risponde correttamente ai comandi inviati. Se il TV risponde a tutti i comandi abbinati ai tasti, l'SRU530 è pronto per l'uso. Non scordate di annotare il codice. Se l'apparecchio non risponde del tutto od ignora alcuni comandi, ripetete la procedura a partire dal punto 2 inserendo il secondo codice elencato nella lista. · 3. Funzioni aggiuntive Selezione dell'apparecchio controllato (Tasti di modalità) Il telecomando SRU530 è stato impostato per azionamento di default TV, DVD o VCR. Potete selezionare l'apparecchio che desiderate azionare con i tasti di selezione TV, DVD e VCR. Ogni tasto consente l'azionamento di un solo apparecchio. Se desiderato, potete programmare i tasti per selezionare un apparecchio diverso. Ad esempio, se desiderate azionare una seconda TV. Nel seguente esempio vedrete il modo in cui configurare il tasto DVD per una seconda TV. 1 2 Accendete il secondo TV. Premete il tasto DVD per selezionar DVD. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 3 Quindi tenete i tasti 1 e 6 sull'SRU530 premuti contemporaneamente per tre secondi fino a quando il tasto DVD lampeggia due volte e poi rimane acceso. 15 Italiano SRU530_87_v6.qxd 26-04-2005 14:26 Pagina 16 Instruzioni per l'uso 4 Premete i tasti 9, 9 e 2, in questo ordine. Italiano 16 5 Premete il tasto TV per selezionarla. Premete il tasto fino a quando si illumina. 6 ­ Premete il tasto 1. Il tasto DVD lampeggia due volte. Il tasto DVD ora vi consente di azionare la seconda TV. 7 Programmate l'SRU530 per controllare il secondo TV. Vedi `Configurazione del telecomando'. Aggiungere una funzione al telecomando Per aggiungere una funzione all'SRU530, contattate il servizio di assistenza Philips per i telecomandi universali per richiedere il codice a 5 cifre riservato alle funzioni aggiuntive. Instalar o telecomando Inserir as pilhas 1 Carregue na tampa para dentro e faça-a 2 3 deslizar na direcção da seta. Coloque duas pilhas tipo AAA no as scompartimento das pilhas, conforme indicado. Faça deslizar a tampa para a posição inicial até ouvir um estalido. Nota: Se as teclas de modo (TV, DVD e VCR) piscam quatro vezes sempre que carrega numa tecla, o telecomando está a indicar que as pilhas estão a ficar fracas. De cada vez que é enviado um código, a tecla TV acende. Quando a TV se desligar (standby), solte imediatamente a tecla de standby do SRU530. O SRU530 encontrou um código que funciona com o seu televisor. Verifique se consegue utilizar todas as funções do televisor com o SRU530. Se não for este o caso, pode repetir a programação automática. O SRU530 procurará então um código que funcione melhor. Quando o SRU530 acabar de verificar todos os códigos conhecidos, a pesquisa parará automaticamente e a tecla TV deixará de piscar. A programação automática de um televisor demora 5 minutos, no máximo. A tecla TV pisca agora duas vezes. Se a tecla piscar uma vez por um período prolongado, isso significa que o código não foi correctamente inserido ou que foi inserido o código errado. Comece novamente a partir do passo 2. Aponte o SRU530 para o televisor e verifique se responde correctamente. Pode seleccionar o aparelho que deseja comandar utilizando as teclas TV, DVD e VCR. Cada tecla permite comandar um único aparelho. Se o desejar, pode programar as teclas para seleccionar um tipo de aparelho diferente. Por exemplo, se desejar comandar uma segunda TV. Resolução de problemas · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ · ­ Problema Solução As teclas de modo (TV e DVD/VCR) piscam quatro vezes sempre que carrega numa tecla. O telecomando está a indicar que as pilhas estão a ficar fracas. Substitua as pilhas velhas por duas pilhas novas tipo AAA. O aparelho que deseja comandar não responde e a tecla de modo (TV, DVD ou VCR) não pisca quando pressiona uma tecla. Substitua as pilhas velhas por duas pilhas novas tipo AAA. O aparelho que deseja comandar não responde mas a tecla de modo (TV, DVD ou VCR) pisca quando pressiona uma tecla. Aponte o SRU530 para o aparelho e certifique-se de que não existem obstáculos entre o SRU530 e o aparelho. O SRU530 não responde correctamente aos comandos. Talvez esteja a utilizar o código errado. Experimente programar o SRU530 novamente utilizando outro código, que é mencionado na marca do seu aparelho ou reinicialize a procura automática para localizar o código correcto. Se o aparelho continuar a não responder, contacte o nosso serviço de assistência. As teclas de teletexto não funcionam. Verifique se o seu televisor está equipado com teletexto.
