Introduction
Introduction to PCTV To Go
PCTV To Go is a system that lets you watch video in many different places, without running wires. It uses the stuff you already have to let you see whatever you want -- with amazingly high quality. You can watch your TV on your PC -- and even change channels -- from around your house, to around the world, in a blink of an eye. The PCTV To Go packaging includes the PCTV To Go box -- which makes everything possible. It also comes with software for your computers, allowing you to choose what to watch, and where to see it. The PCTV To Go box can receive TV from one of several different sources, which you can operate by remote control.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Installing the PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Once you connect your video source to the PCTV To Go box, you are ready to prepare it to operate. This will require a personal computer running Windows XP or Vista, which has 802.11g Wi-Fi wireless capability and/or an Ethernet LAN port. This computer is your "setup computer". (Other computers can use PCTV To Go after it is configured.) On the setup computer, you have already inserted the PCTV To Go software CD, and performed the setup. This installed all the software you need onto the setup computer. When you completed the setup, the last thing it usually does is start the Wizard it just installed. The Wizard is software on your setup computer that lets you configure PCTV To Go, preparing it to send you video to watch and allow you to control connected video devices or the built-in tuner. You may not have chosen to start the Wizard when you finished your software setup. You can start the Wizard by double-clicking on the PCTV To Go Wizard icon on your desktop. Alternately, you can click on the Windows Start button, then click on All Programs, PCTV To Go, and then PCTV To Go Setup Wizard, to start the Wizard.

Introduction
Understanding the Wizard
The PCTV To Go device has software built into it, that lets the device send you video. PCTV To Go also comes with Player software you can install on any Windows XP or Vista computer, that lets you watch video and remotely control the channel selection (and other things). Finally, there is the Wizard software, which lets you configure PCTV To Go using a PC on either a wireless LAN, or an Ethernet (wired) LAN connected directly to the PCTV To Go box. Normally, using the Wizard is a one-time process: software that asks you questions, gives you choices, shows you the results, and verifies PCTV To Go is doing what you want. Once PCTV To Go is configured, you will rarely need to use the Wizard again. PCTV To Go comes to you, out of the box, ready to be configured. However, you can erase all configurations, and make the device ready to be re-configured, as described here . You will then need to run the Wizard again, to re-configure the device. These helpful notes will assist you in answering the Wizard's questions, so the device will be configured to best serve you. Each screen of the Wizard has a corresponding page of notes here to give you more information on what your choices are. The Wizard's functions are divided into these steps, in the order you will encounter them:
The Advanced function lets you easily administer PCTV To Go, after it's already been initially configured. After completing the above steps to configure the PCTV To Go box for the first time, the Advanced button becomes available, and you can click it to quickly access settings without having the step through the Wizard. When you exit the Wizard and restart later, the Advanced button becomes available after you step past checking for software updates and enter your Administrator Password. As you complete each of these steps, it will be checked-off, and will no longer be grayedout. At any time, you may return to that step by clicking on the button -- but you usually won't need to do this.

Exploring the Hardware
Your PCTV To Go device has several connectors for broadcasting nearly any home video signal to your PCs and laptops. It also has outputs for passing video through so you can view signals on your TV or home theater. Here's an overview of rear panel connections (see the Quick Start Guide that comes with your PCTV To Go for setup instructions):
PCTV To Go Wireless rear panel:
Audio/Video Connectors
SCART input connector supporting RGB-video, Composite-video, and stereo audio. SCART output connector supporting RGB-video, Composite-video, and stereo audio. The signals on this connector are "pass through" signals which replicate the signals on the SCART-IN connector for connection to other equipment. PCTV To Go does not generate any analog video or audio signals. A/V In connector supporting RCA Composite Video and stereo audio on a breakout cable.
Networking
Wired Ethernet (802.3) port: 10/100, RJ-45. RP-SMA connectors for attaching wireless LAN antennas (PCTV To Go Wireless only)
Miscellaneous
Reset button for restoring the PCTV To Go device to its factory-default state (described here). IR Blaster for controlling your video source's remote control functions from your PC. (Note that even though the PCTV To Go device has multiple video inputs, only one video source's remote functions can be controlled by the PCTV To Go at a time.) Planning Your Installation
Selecting your Video Source
What video source do you want to connect to? PCTV To Go can take input from a variety of video sources and comes with cables for connecting the device to each source. Review the supported video sources listed under "What You Need to Use PCTV To Go" and illustrated in the Quick Start Guide that comes with your PCTV To Go device. Compare them with the available connectors on your TV, set-top box, DVD player, or other source. Then connect PCTV To Go to the source as described in the Quick Start Guide.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Supported Network Configurations
Scenario #1 - If you are using a wireless network connection from the computer you wish to use to watch video from PCTV To Go, then DO NOT connect PCTV To Go to your network with a wire prior to running the Setup Wizard. Run Setup Wizard and Player from a wireless PC. After that, any Wi-Fi-enabled PC or laptop can join the wireless network (SSID) chosen during setup to watch PCTV To Go-streamed video. The primary advantage of this connection is that PCTV To Go does NOT have to be connected to your router, meaning no wiring between your entertainment center and office!
10
Planning Your Installation Scenario #2 - This is the only connection scenario possible for PCTV To Go models without built-in wireless capability. If you are using a wired network connection from the computer you wish to use to watch video from PCTV To Go, then connect PCTV To Go to your network with an Ethernet cable prior to running the Setup Wizard. Run Setup Wizard and Player from a wired PC.
11
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard Scenario #3 - If you have both wired and wireless clients, follow the Setup steps for Scenario #1 (wireless). After local viewing is confirmed on a wireless client, you can run an Ethernet cable from PCTV To Go to the LAN side of your router. Now wired clients can access local viewing from PCTV To Go after installing the drivers and Player application.
Not supported:
Local viewing is not supported for wired clients when PCTV To Go is connected only wirelessly to the home network.
12
Planning Your Installation
Prior to running the Setup Wizard
If your PCTV To Go is to be used in a wireless mode, make sure that your setup PC's wireless LAN card and wireless router are configured to use DHCP. Static IP mode can be set later. If your PCTV To Go is to be wired to your router using Ethernet cable, make sure that your router is configured to use DHCP.
13
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Installing Additional Local Viewing Clients
To install and run PCTV To Go Player on additional clients, run the Setup Wizard Installer (which aslo installs the Player application) on each PC. This installs the drivers that are necessary for the Player to run. You don't have to run the Setup Wizard on additional clients, just run the Player. You do have to leave the Setup Wizard installed.

MCE Considerations
MCE Quick Start
To change channels in MCE, click on the + or - signs in the MCE onscreen controller that pops up in the bottom left of the MCE window when you move your mouse, or enter your desired channel with the numeric keypad and press Enter, or use the MCE remote controller pointed at your MCE IR Emitter/Receiver if you have one. The timeshifting and recording functions of MCE also work perfectly with PCTV To Go, and so does MCE's EPG programming functionality. Refer to the MCE help guide for more information on how to use all the advanced capabilities of this powerful application. You will find the MCE Help Guide under the Settings / Help / Help menu path off the main menu of MCE. If your channels do not change, please check that PCTV To Go is correctly configured and you are able to control the channels of your set-top box using the PCTV To Go Setup Wizard.
15
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
If you have an MCE IR emitter/reciever
You can control your PCTV To Go connected Cable or Satellite set top box through the Windows Media Center User Interface (MCE) as long as: You have correctly configured the IR Blaster on your using the PCTV To Go Setup Wizard. You have attached an MCE IR Emitter/Receiver (also known as a "Bean Bag") to the USB port of your PC. Note: An MCE IR Emitter/Receiver is not supplied with PCTV To Go, but can be purchased from a variety of suppliers. Just make sure that the device you purchase is certified for use with MCE. If your MCE PC came with a built-in tuner, you most likely got an MCE IR Emitter/Receiver in your package. You have correctly configured your MCE system for the Cable or Satellite set top box connection and downloaded the proper program guide corresponding to your Cable or Satellite service provider. Once you have correctly configured your MCE system, any channel change commands which you issue through the MCE system are captured and routed to your PCTV To Go device. For this reason it is important to correctly configure your PCTV To Go device to control your Cable or Satellite set top box. Use the PCTV To Go Setup Wizard to correctly configure and verify your video input device for use with the supplied PCTV To Go IR cable. For further information, please read the PCTV To Go Setup Wizard User's Guide. Once you have successfully configured your PCTV To Go for IR control, you must configure your MCE system to download the proper program guide. The following screenshot based instructions walk you through the steps to configure your MCE system for PCTV To Go IR control. Before you start configuring MCE: Install the latest PCTV To Go software onto your MCE system. Make sure you reboot your system after the software installation is complete. Run the Setup Wizard and configure the IR Blaster for the Video Input which is connected to your PCTV To Go. IMPORTANT: Make sure to leave the check box
unchecked on the "Configure For Media Center" Setup Wizard screen.
Connect an MCE IR Blaster/Receiver (sometimes referred to as "Bean Bag" device) to the USB port of your MCE system. Make sure to also connect the IR cable of that device to its IR cable port. Note: there is no need to point the LED end of this cable anywhere in particular - it is only used to convince MCE to behave in the desired way.
16
MCE Considerations First, launch your Media Center application and scroll to the Settings option
Select the General option
In the General Options list, select the Media Center Setup option.
17
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard In the Media Center Setup Options list, select the Set Up TV Signal option.
Select Yes on the TV Signal Setup confirmation dialog box to continue.
Select Next on the TV Signal screen to continue.
18
MCE Considerations Confirm your region and select Next to continue.
To configure MCE for use with PCTV To Go as its TV source, you need to configure the TV Signal manually. Choose the "I will manually configure my TV signal" option and then select Next.
Select your proper TV Signal and select Next. For this example, we will select Satellite.
19
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard The TV Signal "Prepare for Set-to Box Setup" screen shows you a list of action items to ensure that the MCE can control your hardware. This is not important for the PCTV To Go IR control because the PCTV To Go is configured to control the video hardware. However, you still want to go through these steps in MCE to ensure we get the proper GUIDE later in the procedure. Select Next to continue.
Choose the video input where you connected your video source on PCTV To Go and select Next. For this example, we are using the Composite Video input from the PCTV To Go device. The PCTV To Go is already correctly configured and the video source is on the Composite input of the PCTV To Go in our example. If the STB is connected to PCTV To Go via the Component inputs, the following needs to be done in order to configure MCE to properly control the STB and download the proper program Guide: In the Setup Wizard, map TV Tuner input to the Component input (check "Map TV Tuner input to this input" in Advanced or check the "Switch to Component input when PCTV To Go is used by Media Center" on the Configure For Media Center screen in Wizard mode). Connect the MCE IR Receiver/Blaster to the PC. In MCE, in TV signal Setup, on the screen where MCE asks how your STB is connected, select either Channel 2, Channel 3 or Channel 4. The rest of the configuration is the same as for Composite or S-Video.
20
MCE Considerations On the TV Signal "Set-top Box Remote" screen, choose No and Next to continue. Since the PCTV To Go will be controlling the IR codes which get sent to your video device, there is no need to configure this option through MCE.
On the TV Signal "Select Number of Digits" screen, select any number of digits. Again, it has no effect on the PCTV To Go IR control operation. Select Next to continue.
Similarly, on the TV Signal "How Do You Change Channels?" Screen, select any option and select Next to continue.
21
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
On the TV Signal "Select Your Set-top Box Brand" screen, select the proper option and select Next to continue. The selection on this screen is important in order to insure proper GUIDE data later in the procedure.
The TV Signal "Select Remote Control Code" screen provides you with a list of codes to choose. Since PCTV To Go is going to control the Cable or Satellite set top box through its own IR blaster and PCTV To Go has been configured already, the selection on this screen is not important. Leave the default selection as is and select Next to continue.
22
MCE Considerations
23
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard On the TV Signal "Test Channel Changing" screen, you will need to enter a channel number for the MCE setup to be able to continue, but what happens here does not influence the workings of PCTV To Go. Use the keyboard or remote to enter a number and then select the "The set-top box changed the channel correctly" option. Choose Next to continue. Again, the result of this operation is not important, so just select Next on the next screen to continue.
On the TV Signal "Set IR Signal Speed" screen, change the channel using the keyboard or remote, select the "The channel changed correctly" option and choose Next to continue. Again, the result of this operation is not important, so just select Next on the next screen to continue.
24
MCE Considerations Select Next on the Guide "Set Up Your TV Program Guide" screen to begin the Guide setup.
Read and agree to the Guide Privacy statement and select Yes and Next to continue.
Agree to the Guide Terms of Service and select Next to continue.
25
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard Enter your proper ZIP code in the Guide "Enter Your ZIP Code" screen. This is important in order to download the proper Guide from the web. Select Next to continue.
MCE proceeds with downloading the provider information for your area.
When all your provider information is downloaded, the screen information will change to "Download complete." Select Next to continue.
26
MCE Considerations Select your proper provider and select Next to continue. For this example we are using San Francisco, DISH.
MCE proceeds with downloading the TV program guide information for your provider.
When all your program guide information is downloaded, the screen information will change to "Download complete." Select Next to continue.
27
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard Now go to the Main Menu of MCE and highlight "My TV" In order to navigate back to previous menu levels of MCE, use the back arrow in the title bar of MCE, or press the [Backspace] key on your keyboard.
Now go to the Live TV module of MCE's My TV. Highlight "Live TV" and press Enter, or click on "Live TV". "Live TV" is represented by a TV screen icon.
You will see your PCTV To Go signal playing in the MCE UI. You can now change channels in the MCE UI and your requests will be routed to the PCTV To Go device.

UPDATE
Welcome
The Welcome screen is the first you encounter after starting the Wizard. The six indicators on the left-hand side show your progress in completely configuring PCTV To Go. At this point, nothing is configured, so all five steps are "grayed-out".
Note for wireless installation (PCTV To Go Wireless only):
You that you may lose your Internet connection temporarily if you are running the Wizard over a wireless network. You may see several pop-up notices from the task tray wireless configuration icon at the bottom of your screen during the Wizard process informing you that different wireless networks are being accessed, or that a certain connection has limited connectivity. No problem: it is all part of the configuration process. At the upper-right of the screen is the version number. This indicates which update of the Wizard you are using. Periodically, we will make available a newer version of the software available, which you can identify by this number. Larger numbers are newer versions. At the lower-right of the screen is the Exit button, which you can activate by clicking on it, or by typing ALT+E on the keyboard. This will then ask you if you want to exit the Wizard. If you say Yes (by clicking on it), you will stop the Wizard, even though you may not have successfully configured PCTV To Go. To the left of Exit, is the Next button. Press the Next button with the mouse, to proceed with the configuration.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
New Version Available
You have checked, and have found new software available for the setup computer, which may include new drivers, PCTV To Go firmware, Player software, and/or Wizard software. You can download the update to a file on your setup computer at this time by clicking on the link with the name of the software. (However, if you decide you do not wish to download the software, click on Skip.) To download, be sure you make a note of the name of this file, displayed here. If you click on the download link, the Setup Wizard will ask at this time if you would like to open or save the file on your setup computer's disk. Click on Save. Then, you will need to select where on your computer to save the file. We suggest an easy-to-find place, such as Desktop, or My Documents -- and make note of the folder you selected. After the file is saved, you will need to select Close. (If an extra browser window was opened, you may now close it, and return to the Wizard.) At this point, you will need to stop the Wizard (as you are about to replace it with an updated version). Please stop the Wizard by pressing the Exit button at the bottom, then click on OK. Follow the provided instructions Setup may wish to uninstall your older version of the Wizard; this is normal. Otherwise, setup will continue just as it did when you originally installed the Wizard to this computer. After the new software is installed on your computer, re-run Wizard and repeat the configuration procedure from the start.

DETECT
Locating PCTV To Go
The Wizard is using your network connection on your setup computer to talk to the PCTV To Go box, and make sure it is listening. You do not have to do anything: just wait a few seconds.
If this is the first time you have used the Wizard (or you have restored the PCTV To Go box to its factory state as described here ), you should automatically proceed to the Connected screen after the Wizard locates your PCTV To Go device. If the device is not found, you will be notified here. However, if you have previously been successful at configuring this PCTV To Go, then you will be asked for your password here.
33
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
You are connected
You have successfully connected to PCTV To Go from the setup computer. (You might notice that your computer is temporarily disconnected from the Internet. Just continue with configuration and you will be reconnected.)
If you are configuring PCTV To Go over a wireless network for the first time (or if you have reset the PCTV To Go to its factory defalults), clicking Next proceeds to this step, where you must specify your wireless network settings. If your PCTV To Go box has already been configured, or if you're connecting it to an Ethernet network, clicking Next proceeds to the VIDEO configuration. Help for that is located here.
34
Standard Configuration
Password required
You have already configured this PCTV To Go box. Thus, you must type in the Administrator Password, which you created either at the end of the initial configuration, or using the Advanced settings. The default password is 0000 (four zeroes).
If you forgot the password, restore the PCTV To Go box to its factory state as described here , then re-start the Wizard and configure the device initially. There is no procedure to recover a lost password. After entering the password, press the Next button to continue.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Update Firmware
If there is newer firmware available than is currently installed on your PCTV To Go unit, you will see this screen. Since the firmware and client software (Setup Wizard and Player) work hand in hand to provide you with the latest features and best performance, it is highly recommended that you update the firmware at this time by pressing the "Update" button. Firmware update can take several minutes to complete. When it is all done, you will advance automatically to the video preview screen. Under some circumstances, such as using special firmware loads supplied by Tech Support, you may wish to Skip this automatic firmware update, preferring to use the manual update feature in Wizard's Advanced mode. Warning: Please do not disconnect your PCTV To Go from the network and do not power it off while the firmware update in in progress. Doing so may render your PCTV To Go device unusable.

Attach PCTV To Go to Wireless Network
This section applies only to PCTV To Go Wireless. On this screen, you must tell PCTV To Go how to join your wireless network.
1. Choose a wireless network First, specify the name of the network PCTV To Go should join. (Every wireless network has a name, often referred to as the SSID or ESSID).
Available Networks: If the network's SSID is broadcast and therefore visible from computers within the network's range, select this option. If more than one wireless network is available, select the one you want PCTV To Go to join (the network your computer is on). If your network doesn't appear in the list, it might be hidden (see below). Or, due to how Windows Wireless Zero Configuration works, you might need to refresh the display to see all networks. Not Listed : If you have set up your router to not broadcast your network's SSID,
select this option and type the network SSID yourself. Be sure to type the name exactly. If you don't know your network's SSID, you can determine it by accessing your router's configuration settings (see the router's manual for instructions on doing this).

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard 2. Enter any security settings: Your router might be set up to use encryption to protect the privacy of your wireless access. PCTV To Go currently supports Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption, which is almost universally available, as well as the more secure WPA-PSK mode. If your SSID is broadcast, the Wizard will automatically determine if you are using one of these security modes, but you will still need to select the correct one.
None: No encryption security is being used. WEP: If you are using WEP, select this option. Open-key authentication or sharedkey authentication modes are supported and determined automatically. 64-bit and 128-bit modes are supported, as well as ASCII and hex key entry modes.
For 64-bit WEP hex keys, enter 10 hex digits (0-9, A-F). For 64-bit WEP ASCII keys, enter 5 ASCII characters (any regular keyboard character). For 128-bit WEP hex keys, enter 26 hex digits (0-9, A-F). For 128-bit WEP ASCII keys, enter 13 ASCII characters (any regular keyboard character).
WPA: The pre-shared key mode of WPA is supported (WPA-PSK). Select this is you
are using WPA-PSK. What you should enter into the "Security Key" field is the WPAPSK "passphrase", which is 8 to 64 ASCII characters (any standard keys on your keyboard).
Security Key: When using WEP or WPA security modes, you need to enter the key or
passphrase as outlined above. Enter it again into the "Confirm key" field. A quick way to do this is to copy and paste the key or passphrase from your router's settings Web interface. When you're done, press Next in the Wizard to continue setup.

Test WiFi Settings
PCTV To Go Wireless only
At this point, PCTV To Go has been told how to connect to your wireless network. The following is happening: Your setup computer will test the settings to see if they are correct. If the settings are not correct, the Wizard will indicate that it could not validate the wireless settings, and let you make any changes. If you are sure that your settings are correct, press the "Next" button. If the settings are correct, the Wizard will connect wirelessly to PCTV To Go and tell it what these settings are. PCTV To Go will now try to connect to your wireless network through your wireless router. The Wizard will now reconnect your setup computer back to its normal setting -- attached wirelessly to your Wi-Fi router. Finally, the Wizard will attempt to reconnect to PCTV To Go through your wireless LAN and using your wireless router. This should all occur automatically, and take a few minutes to complete. No action on your part should be required. If any of these steps fails, you may have to restore the PCTV To Go box to its factory state as described here , and restart the Wizard. If your computer for some reason does not reconnect automatically to your wireless LAN, you will be informed; click here.

Connect to Wireless Network Manually
PCTV To Go Wireless only
The Wizard wasn't able to automatically connect to the wireless network with the settings you entered here. It doesn't mean that the settings are incorrect. One of the reasons could be that your wireless card is controlled by a 3rd party utility that was installed with your wireless card drivers. Just go ahead and connect to the specified wireless network manually as suggested and click Next.

VIDEO
Please Wait - Connecting for Video Preview
At this point, the Wizard is establishing a link from the PCTV To Go box to the setup computer so you can see what is happening while you configure the video settings. No action is necessary; in a few seconds, you should automatically proceed to the video input configuration.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Video Input Configuration
Your PCTV To Go has successfully joined your network. Now you must configure it to receive video from your video source. Begin by selecting which type of connector on the back of the PCTV To Go box, your video source is connected to.
Select one of three connector types:
SCART Composite video: Your device outputs a composite video signal on the SCART connector. Stereo audio is also taken from the SCART connector in this case. Composite A/V - this connector supports composite video and stereo audio on RCA
style connectors.
SCART RGB video: Your device outputs a component video signal on the SCART
connector. Stereo audio is also taken from the SCART connector in this case. Mute Audio: Optionally check this box to mute audio from the preview. When you select the proper option, you might see video in the preview window--for example, if you've connected a DVD player that's currently playing a DVD. If you don't see video, don't worry--your PCTV To Go might need further configuration before it can preview video from your particular source. When you're done, press Next in the Wizard to continue with setup.

Configure IR Blaster
The PCTV To Go box includes an IR Blaster interface for controlling your video device's remote control functions from your PC (see the PCTV To Go Quick Start Guide for information on connecting the IR Blaster to your video device).
If your video device doesn't have a remote control, or if you don't want to configure the IR Blaster now, press Skip (you can come back and configure it later). Otherwise, specify your video device as follows:
Device Category: This can be None, Cable Box, Satellite Receiver, DVD Player, DVR,
ALL, or Learned. When you make a choice, it changes what is available on the following lists.
Category.
Manufacturer: Shows the supported brands of the item selected under Device Select by Model: Use this option initially to search for the model number of your
video device. If you do not find your exact model, try selecting something similar. Usually, you can find a label listing the manufacturer, brand, and model number, somewhere on the video device.
Select by Code: Sometimes you may not be able to find a close match for your model number, or it may simply be difficult to locate the label at the back of your equipment cabinet. In this case, you can try the codes that are known to support a given manufacturer's devices one by one until you find the code that works.
The "Test" button allows you to send an IR code out and see that it controls your device properly. Initially the drop down list will contain a short list of commands, but if you want to see all possible commands for the selected IR code, check the "Show all commands" checkbox.
43
PCTV To Go Setup Wizard Normally, you will choose between Channel Up, Channel Down, and Power On/Off. If these three functions work correctly, you likely have finished configuring your remote control function. If you press the Test button and nothing happens, try this: Make sure the infrared (IR) emitter is plugged into the back of the PCTV To Go box. Make sure the IR emitter is placed in front of the video source so it "sees" the IR remote-control receiver built into the video device. Think of the IR emitter as a remote control you are holding: where do you point your remote control to operate the video device? Try adjusting the distance between the IR emitter and the video source. Sometimes placing it closer helps; sometimes placing it further away helps. Also, check the angle at which it is pointed. Make sure no light is reflecting off of the front of the video device that would interfere with the reception of the invisible IR light beam. Finally, select a different code. Often, if the IR emitter is working, but the wrong code is selected, some of the functions will cause a reaction in the video source - just the wrong one. (For instance, testing the number "2" will result in turning the unit Power on/off). This is a sign you need to try a different code. When you are satisfied with the results, or to skip the IR Blaster test, press Next to continue with setup. To continue without setting the IR code, press "Skip" instead.

Channel Tuning Settings
Some devices are particular as to how you type in a channel number. In some cases, you can type in a one-digit channel number, say, "4", and then press Enter. In other cases, you have to type in "04" or "004". And in the rest, you need to type in "4" -- then wait a few seconds. PCTV To Go supports all three.
To configure this, select a format for how you choose channel 4 or your remote control: do you press "4", "04", or "004"? Also, if your video device requires pressing the Enter key, check the box for "if you need to press Enter". You can select the delay between typing in each digit of a channel number, by adjusting the slider between Fast and Slow. You need to test different channel numbers after making any change here; if you set it too fast, your video source may not respond correctly to the remote commands. After making your choices, you can select channel numbers under the video display and press Test. After a few seconds, the picture should change to the selected channel. If it doesn't, try using the remote control that came with the video device to see what you have to type in, then make adjustments to this screen and try again. When you are satisfied with the results, press Next in the Wizard to continue with setup.

PCTV To Go Setup Wizard
Configure for Media Center
PCTV To Go has additional capabilities for users of Windows XP/Vista Media Center Edition on Media Center PCs. PCTV To Go can act as the virtual "TV tuner," either adding a second tuner to a Media Center PC already equipped with a tuner, or providing a tuner for a system that did not come with one. When Windows XP/Vista Media Center Edition sees the installed PCTV To Go, it will control it. (In reality, PCTV To Go can be receiving video from any of its inputs, but Media Center treats it as though it is a tuner.)
To enable this feature, check the box labeled "Switch to this input when PCTV To Go is used by Media Center." If you have configured the IR Blaster in the previous steps, then whenever you change channels within the Media Center software, PCTV To Go will control the appropriate external device you have configured with the IR Blaster. When finished, press Next in the Wizard to continue with setup.
