Press the eject button or push the front part of tray to load the tray with the disc. Do not attempt to pull out the disc tray forcibly. 2 Headphone Jack (PHONES) Stereo mini jack for head-phone. Set "Volume Control Knob" minimum position before inserting headphone jack. The audio output of rear panel is active even when a jack is inserted into the headphone plug. 3 Volume Control Knob This is the volume control knob for adjusting sound level on the headphone. When the knob is turned to the right, the headphone volume goes up, when turned to the left, the volume goes down. 4 BUSY Indicator Operation status is indicated as follows. In the normal operation, the eject button should be used to unload the tray. Power supply input for DC +5 V. 8 En INSTALLATION 1 Turn off the power supply of the personal computer, and remove the cover or the front panel. 2 Remove the blank panel installed on the front of the 5.25 inch slot. 3 Install the fixing slide rails on the drive. (When slide rails are required, please contact your shop or the computer manufacturer.) 4 Insert the drive into the slot. 5 When fixing is required, please refer to the instruction manual for the computer. ÷ Please use screws with a length of 5 mm (3/16 in.) or less for mounting. Using longer screws may cause damage on the drive. ÷ When the mounting screws are loose etc., the vibrations from disc rotation may generate ripping noise, to prevent it the screws should be tightened securely. USING THE DISC SUPPORT TABS When installing this writer vertically, two disc support tabs must be used to support a loaded disc. The unit has been factory shipped with the disc support tabs in their outboard position, however, where they will not support discs (Position B in the illustration). ÷ When this unit is installed vertically, release the two disc support tab locks and move the tabs to their inboard positions (Position A). To load a disc, insert the disc in the specified loading position in the tray so that it is supported between the tabs. ÷ When this unit is installed horizontally, leave the disc support tabs in their outboard positions (Position B). To load a disc, merely place the disc label-side up in the specified position on the disc tray. * When loading a disc, the two disc support tabs must be set in the proper position.
