For a detailed guideline on battery usage, please see "Using Your Batteries" on page 9. 1. Open the camera's battery/SD card door by pushing it outwards as illustrated. 2. Insert the batteries as shown, ensuring you follow the +/- signs correctly. 3. Please select the type of batteries you are using in the set up menu. For more details, please refer to "Selecting the Battery Type" on page 29. IMPORTANT NOTE: For best performance and prolonged battery life, we recommend using a brand name high capacity battery. · To ensure the camera displays the battery level correctly, please set the type to match the batteries being used. · Here are some helpful hints to extend battery life considerably by limiting the following activities: · Reviewing the pictures on the LCD Screen. · Use the optical viewfinder (if applicable) to frame the subject when taking pictures. · Reduce the excessive use of the flash. · Remove batteries from your camera when not in use for long periods of time. WARNING! · Batteries should be replaced by an adult. · Do not mix different types of batteries (or new and used batteries). · Use recommended or equivalent type of batteries only. · Insert the batteries in the correct orientation. · Remove exhausted batteries from the camera immediately. · Do not short the supply terminals. · Do not dispose the batteries in fire. · Do not touch or push the lens back when the camera hangs due to low battery. Please replace the batteries and power on the camera. These instructions should be retained for future reference. Check the battery power level that appears on the LCD screen. Battery power is full. Battery power is adequate. Battery power is exhausted. Pressing the PLAYBACK button switches between the Capture mode and Playback mode. Capture Mode In this mode, you can record still images, video and audio clips. This mode allows you to select the image and video settings according to the shooting environment. For more details, refer to "Taking Pictures" on page 33, "Recording Video Clips" on page 58 and "Recording Audio Clips" on page 60. Playback Mode This mode allows the review, rotation, protection or deletion of pictures and video clips from the camera. You can add a voice memo to a picture.
