These items were corrected after publication. Introduction SuperLoader 3 LTO-2 0 0 The autoloader is SCSI-3 compatible and operates as a single SCSI ID/two LUN data storage device. The Quantum SuperLoader 3 LTO-2 autoloader is equipped with a Quantum LTO-2 half-height tape drive and contains up to sixteen Ultrium 2 data cartridges when utilizing two magazines, providing a compressed capacity of 6.4 Terabytes and sustained data transfer rate of 93.6 GB per hour (native) or as high as 187.2 GB per hour compressed (assuming 2:1 compression). The autoloader is compatible with the most popular operating systems and environments supporting a Ultra 160 SCSI -3 LVD interface but requires direct support from the operating system or a compatible backup application to take full advantage of its many features. SuperLoader 3 LTO-3 0 The autoloader is SCSI-3 compatible and operates as a single SCSI ID/two LUN data storage device. The Quantum SuperLoader 3 LTO-2 autoloader is equipped with a Quantum LTO-3 tape drive and contains up to sixteen Ultrium 3 data cartridges when utilizing two magazines, providing a compressed capacity of 6.4 Terabytes and sustained data transfer rate of 245 GB per hour (native) or as high as 490 GB per hour compressed (assuming 2:1 compression). The autoloader is compatible with the most popular operating systems and environments supporting a Ultra 160 SCSI -3 LVD interface but requires direct support from the operating system or a compatible backup application to take full advantage of its many features. SuperLoader 3 VS160 0 The autoloader is SCSI-3 compatible and operates as a single SCSI ID/two LUN data storage device. The Quantum SuperLoader 3 LTO-2 autoloader is equipped with a Quantum DLT VS160tape drive and contains up to sixteen VS1 data cartridges when utilizing two magazines, providing a compressed capacity of 2560 Gigabytes and sustained data transfer rate of 28.8GB per hour (native) or as high as 57.6 GB per hour compressed (assuming 2:1 compression). The autoloader is compatible with the most popular operating systems and environments supporting a Ultra 160 SCSI -3 LVD interface but requires direct support from the operating system or a compatible backup application to take full advantage of its many features. Installation and Configuration SCSI Bus Requirements 0 0 You must connect the Quantum SuperLoader 3 (all drive types) to one of the following SCSI bus types: · · Ultra 320 SCSI-3, Low-voltage Differential (LVD), Single-ended (SE) SCSI bus Ultra 160 SCSI-3, LVD SE SCSI bus Note: The autoloader is not compatible with a High-voltage Differential (HVD) SCSI bus. The right magazine is present. The assigned SCSI ID for the autoloader. The change mode is set to Random. The change mode is set to Sequential. A bar code reader is present. SCSI ID Mode A digit 0 through 15 (default 5) Random SEQUENTIAL BC Reader Yes or No Viewing Tape Drive Status 0 The Drive Status Fields (table 4) have been modified. Field SCSI ID Compression Drive Tape Description Indicates the drive's SCSI ID number. Indicates whether the tape drive compression is enabled or disabled. Indicates whether the tape drive is present or not. On-board Remote Management Viewing Status Information Setting the System Time 0 0 The Status Information is updated every 10 seconds. 0 When setting the time zone from On-board Remote Management, it will automatically correct for daylight savings time. From the front panel of the autoloader, you will have to correct for daylight savings time manually. Operating the Autoloader 5 Quantum SuperLoader 3 Documentation Update Document 81-81467-02 A01 October 2005 Running Diagnostic Tests 0 The diagnostic tests available on the autoloader include: · · · · · · · Loader­Self Test Loader­Health Check Loader­Picker Test Loader­Magazine Test Loader­Inventory Test Sales Demo RALU Logs Diagnostics 0 The submit button has been replaced with two button selections: · · Start Test Stop Test Throughout the Diagnostics section, where "Click submit" is noted, please click Start Test. Sales Demo 0 There is an additional item listed on the Diagnostics menu. This Sales Demo selection allows for a random access, load/unload (RALU) sequence. Viewing Error or History Logs 0 To view error or history logs: 1 From any page, click the Diagnostics heading. The Diagnostics screen displays. 2 Under View Error and History Logs, click View Logs. You can also save the logs to a file by clicking Save Logs. If you save the logs to a file, you must select a destination folder within 60 seconds. Note: View Logs allows you to view a summary of the hardware, software and update logs for the autoloader. Save Logs saves detailed log information to a file for the autoloader. On some browsers, after saving logs, it may be necessary to click on Home to continue using the On-board Remote Management function.
