YES NO Flash memory (IC210) failure or IC210 is not properly loaded with software. Replace IC210. Does display freeze showing DSP Loading Boot Ver FX.X at power on? NO YES DSP boot section is OK. When IC210 (Flash Memory) is replaced, a one which is loaded with the software must be used. "APP F1.1/VOC F1.0" is labeled on the package of IC210 if the software is preloaded. Is voltage okay on LC204 (3.5V), LC205 (3.5V), LC206 (1.5V), and C292 (1.8V). YES NO Note: If the software of the CPU is updated, the software of IC210 might need to be changed. Pay attention to the information (SIB) from the manufacturer. Defective IC207, IC208, LC204, LC205, or LC206. Is the clock oscillation okay on X202 (18.432 MHz). NO YES Defective IC209, X302, C295, C296, or IC209. Defective IC209, IC210, IC212, RA206, R256, R259, R262, R265, or other associated components. Or, defective IC204 (CPU). 13 DSP Section (DSP Circuit Test Program) Turn on the scanner, and press 0 then TEXT while Welcom to Digital Trunking appears. Connect the signal generator to ANT jack. Set the signal generator frequency to 868.5125 MHz, 10 uV output, 1 kHz at 3.6 kHz modulation. Press ENTER to start DSP circuit test program. Does the scanner's display show DSP Test 1 Freq / Amp1 TEST PASSED ENT for Next? YES Press ENTER. NO Check "DSP Section (Digital Audio, etc.)" section on Page 15. Does the scanner's display show DSP Test2 DSP Loopback Audio On Press Enter? YES Press ENTER. NO Defective IC3, C53, C57, R49, IC204, and/or associated circuit. Does the scanner's display show DSP Test3 DSP Loopback Audio Off Press Enter? YES Press ENTER. NO Defective IC3, IC204 and/or associated circuit. Does the scanner's display show DSP Test4 Flash CRC Ck TEST PASSED ENT for Next? YES Press ENTER. NO Defective IC204, IC210, IC209, IC212 and/or associated circuit. Does the scanner's display show DSP Test5 Flash Lock TEST PASSED ENT for Next? YES NO Press ENTER. The scanner shows DSP Test5 ************ All Complete Press Trunk. Press TRUNK to reset and restart the scanner. 14 DSP Section (Digital Audio, etc.) Receive a frequency with FM mode, in manual mode. (Manual mode turns on digital decode.) Is voltage okay on C291 (3.5 V), and C292 (1.8 V). YES NO Defective IC207, or LC204. Is receive audio present on IC211 pin 19? YES NO Defective IC1, R201, C298 and/or associated circuit. Are square waves on IC211 pins 4, 5, 6, and 28? YES NO If IC211 pin 24 is high (3.5V), and pin 25 has a 10s of MHz sine wave, defective IC211 and/or associated circuit. Is digital audio (voice) on IC211 pin 10 when recieving IMBE? YES NO Defective IC3, IC9, Q10, speaker, and/or associated circuit. Also check that IC209 pin 27 goes low when receiving IMBE, and IC204 pin 54 goes high when receivng IMBE. Defective IC211. 15
