Renault is big on safety and twingo is no exception. scoring four stars in the euro nCAP passive safety tests, twingo has been officially recognised as one of the safest small cars. It also delivers reassuring handling and class-leading road manners with sure-footed, reliable performance. twingo's structure features energyabsorbing crumple zones to safeguard the cabin and help protect all the occupants. In the event of a frontal impact, the sill and door beam of twingo spread the force over the entire length of the car to absorb and dissipate the kinetic energy. twingo is available with modern driving aids rarely seen on small city cars. Automatic headlights and windscreen wipers are available, as well as rear parking proximity sensors, so you'll feel more secure in your twingo than you ever thought possible. twingo's safety system also acts to help protect its occupants. It includes up to six airbags: two front and two front lateral airbags as standard, plus optional curtain airbags. Airbags can also be deactivated to allow a child safety seat to be fitted. ABs (Anti-lock Braking system) is part of twingo's advanced safety system. It prevents wheels locking in the event of emergency braking, enabling the tyres to maintain control of the vehicle's trajectory. 20 > 21 22 > 23 ENGINES Renault FoUR CHoICes, one ResULt. eco2 focuses on reducing the three of twingo's feisty petrol engines, environmental impact over the full lifecycle whilst being perfectly suited to its dynamic of its vehicles, from design right through to and sporty nature, are proud to sport the eventual recycling. each vehicle must meet eco2 logo. so whether you choose the three strict criteria to gain the prestigious eco 2 1.2 60, 1.2 16V 75 or 1.2 tCe 100, you can be sure that your car is one of the most environmentally sound vehicles on the road. label. 1.2 60 the 1.2 litre engine is low in emissions, producing just 132 g/km, and returning over 50mpg on a combined cycle. 1.2 16V 75 With amazingly low Co2 emissions of 135 g/km and an excellent combined fuel consumption of 49.5mpg, the 1.2 16V 75 engine is as gentle on the environment as it is on your pocket. equally, with a top speed of 106mph, you don't have to compromise on performance. 1.2 TCE 100 At just 140 g/km, the 1.2 tCe 100 engine boasts the lowest emissions for a 100hp car, plus great fuel economy with 47.8mpg combined fuel consumption. With a top speed of 117mph and 145nm of torque at 3,000rpm, it even features an `overboost' function to give you extra power and torque just when you need it. 1.6 VVT 133 the Renault twingo Renaultsport 133 houses a 1.6 litre 16V naturally-aspirated fourcylinder petrol engine, that develops 133hp at 6,750rpm and 160nm of torque at 4,400rpm, while maintaining Co2 emissions of just 165 g/km. the engine is mated to a manual five-speed gearbox. Twingo meets three criteria: the vehicle produces CO2 emissions lower than 140 g/km, it is manufactured in an ISO 14001 certified factory, minimising its environmental impact, and it includes at least 5% recycled plastic in its plastic mass. With , Renault displays its environmental commitment at every stage of the life cycle of the vehicle. The vehicle has been designed in such a way that 95% of the materials used could have a second life (recyclable for other use or as a source of energy), and that pollution control at the end of the vehicle's life (in particular extraction of fluids) is made easier. Furthermore, this vehicle has parts made of recycled plastic and renewable materials. INTERIOR INTELLIGENCE ADAPt yoUR sPACe. small on the outside, twingo is surprisingly roomy inside.
