User manual RHEEM 90 PLUSCOMMENTS
 we bought the house with the furnace installed. we don't know how old it is but it has been little but trouble since we moved in. some install issues but now it's presenting multiple problems and getting more every day., a very good quiet unit. We've had little problems every fall, but once some small thing is fixed it works great all winter., parts are not easy to come by., nice furnace. Works good , good ovrall unit. it does have a reoccurring problem/defect in that water gets into the intake pipe and leaks into the blower and then into the safety fail safe switch which causes the unit to shut off. the fix is to get a vacuum and suck the water out of the blower and all rubber tubes leading to the cut off switch (vacuum out the safety switch units also).. Thermostat is a pain to program
, late long time, trouble at first with burned out heat exchanger. has been a good one lately, good furnace

.very good unit...repair parts are tough to find..., great furnace. Great machine so far., had for about 12 years. first time i have had trouble, furnace shuts down often . Great gas furnance!, we have had our rheem 90 plus furnace for over 13 years and it has provide constant heat for us.. It is a nice small furnace and it is very quiet., just bought this house so will be finding out soon., very good heating system, very good heating system.works well, have had the unit since 1999 and stll a great unit, i have had rheem is previous houses that i live and would highly recommend them. there customer service isnt' too great though. It is fine, great unit but i need to connect an in duct fan & can't figure out how to wire it in., this unit came with a newly purchased home, so i can only hope that it is long-lasting and energy efficient.. Good stuff, noen . Furance's should be simple controls, good unit, 15 years old and still running.
, have had a rheem 90+ for 20+ years. very efficient...few problems. have had to replace igniter every few years, but overall...great!, its good.great value for the money, nice furnace
. Works great, i just lost the manual, my unit is about 15 years old , now at once a year something goes wrong. the ac is not working , the compressor and outside fan runs but the inside fan will not run . i have spent $150 on service calls.
and now this problem. i hope to find a repair manual and fix it myself.
, it works, and has never broken. Generally dependable. in 7 years has required minor maintenance., present 90 plus is about 23 years old. exchangers replaced with new
stainless ones many years ago. blower motor replaced about 10 years
ago, ignitor replaced a couple of times. otherwise, very stable.. Has problems occassionally, i have an rudd and when it needs replacment will go for a rheem, looking at the wiring, works well.....good unitThe RHEEM 90 PLUS forum

90 PLUS® MODULATING UPFLOW GAS FURNACES WITH CONTOUR COMFORT CONTROL®
The Rheem Prestige Series® 90 Plus High Efficiency line of upflow gas furnaces are designed for utility rooms, closets, or alcoves. Because of the low-profile 34 inch height, the RGFD- model can be used vertically to satisfy most applications that traditionally call for a horizontal furnace. The design is certified by CSA.

Heat exchanger is constructed of all stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance and thermal fatigue reliability. s Modulating Function: when used with a modulating thermostat, modulation rate between 40% and 100% of total capacity. s Two-stage Function: when used with a two-stage thermostat, furnace operates at 40% on first stage, and stages up to 65%, then 100% for second stage. s Multistage Function: when used with a single-stage thermostat, furnace functions as a three stage furnace operating at 40%, 65% and 100% of total capacity. s Reduced firing rates, electrically efficient ECM2+ motor, and solid doors provide the ultimate in quiet operation. s Low speed constant fan. s Constant temperature rise for superior comfort. s Seven segment LED for system diagnostics. s Diagnostic history for troubleshooting. s Two-speed induced draft motor. s Direct spark ignition with remote sense. s Top electrical connections, left or right gas and condensate drainage connections on downflow models. s Optional indoor or outdoor combustion air. Side and bottom filter racks; return air cabinet for all sizes. NOTE: Furnace is not listed for use with fuels other than natural or L.P. (propane) gas. All models can be converted by a qualified distributor or local service dealer to use L.P. (propane) gas without changing burners. Factory approved kits must be used to convert from natural to L.P. *For installations over 5000 ft. OPTION CODE FOR HIGH ALTITUDE: US & Canada  278 NOTE: High altitude kits and options do NOT include additional burner orifices. If a burner orifice change is necessary, they must be ordered through PROSTOCK®. See Installation Instructions for more information. Option  278 furnaces are shipped with #51 DMS orifices installed. This is one drill size smaller than standard furnaces to account for expected average elevations and heating values typically seen in these areas. CAUTION: Always follow National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC) guidelines when converting furnaces for high altitudes. For all installations above 2000 ft. (including all option  278 models), the burner orifice size needs to be recalculated and verified at elevations above 2000 ft. A burner orifice change may still be required. See Installation Instructions for more information. Manifold gas pressure reduction methods to adjust for altitude may NOT be used on these models. The only method permitted on modulating furnace models is to recalculate the burner orifice size. See Installation Instructions for more information.
