User guide ROLLS 402P

Detailed instructions for use are in the User's Guide.

3) Using the RFX402P as a VOLTAGE CONTROLLER Many MIDI devices will accept standard passive (non-powered) volume pedal outputs as a way to control Continuous Controller (or CC) functions. CC functions are functions that allow the user to vary the amount of a particular parameter of MIDI. For example, you can control your Chorus depth, or reverb room size, or echo delay time - by using the RFX402P and a properly configured MIDI device. Refer to the owners manual of your MIDI device for the correct connections and programming configurations for this function. If you use Channel 1's OUT/CV jack, the resistance is 0 ohms in the forward position, and 100K ohms in the back position. If the Channel 2 IN/CV jack is used, the resistance is 100K ohms in the forward position, and 0 ohms in the back position. RFX Salt Lake City, UT 9/00 OWNERS MANUAL Thank you for purchasing the RFX402P Stereo Volume/Panner pedal. The 402P is designed to provide lasting value and usefulness. It's uses are many, and include guitar, keyboard or other electronic instrument's volume control. WARNING: Due to the scissor like action of the foot pedal, there is a pinch hazard. Also, the RFX402P has a few sharp metal corners. Please be careful when handling. INSPECTON 1. Unpack and Inspect the RFX402P package. Your RFX402P was carefully packed at the factory in a protective carton. Nonetheless, be sure to examine the unit and the carton for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. If obvious physical damage is noticed, contact the carrier immediately to make a damage claim. We suggest saving the shipping carton and packing materials for safely transporting the unit in the future. 2. Complete the Warranty Registration Card and return it to the factory. AMPLIFIER AMPLIFIER CHANNEL 2 CHANNEL 1 RFX402P PAN MADE IN USA NORM IN/CV OUT IN OUT/CV DESCRIPTION PAN/NORM SWITCH: When pressed in, the RFX402P is in Pan mode, when out, the unit acts as a volume pedal. Note: All jacks are 1/4" unbalanced. CHANNEL 1 JACKS: IN: For receiving incoming instrument or line level signals. OUT/CV: For sending out Channel 1 processed signal, or control voltage resistance. CHANNNEL 2 JACKS: IN/CV: For receiving instrument or line level signals, or sending a control voltage resistance. OUT: For sending out Channel 2 processed signal. OPERATION 1) NORMAL Volume Mode In this mode, the RFX402P takes either a mono or stereo signal, and controls the overall signal level. Channel 1 Input signal level is controlled by the pedal, and sent out Channel 1 output. The same goes for Channel 2. Example One shows a possible connection diagram for using the RFX402P for a stereo volume control. 2) PANNING Mode With the PAN/NORM switch pressed in, the RFX402 acts as a panning or balance control. If a stereo signal is present, like the right side going to Channel 1, and the left side going to Channel 2; the right channel is fully on when the pedal is rotated completely forward, and the left channel is completely off. When the pedal is rotated to it's back position, the left channel is on and the right channel is off. For a balanced signal level, the pedal must be placed in the middle of it's rotation. If you wish to pan a mono signal, you must use a "Y" cable to send the same signal to both Channels 1 and 2. Then that signal is panned between Channel 1 EXAMPLE 2 and Channel 2 outputs. Refer to Example Two.
