Battery & SIM card
Battery & SIM card insertion
Switch off your phone and disconnect the charger. The SIM card is inserted beneath the phone's battery. 1. Slide the SIM card, with cut corner as shown on the phone, into the card holder with gold side down. SAGEM is a trademark of SAFRAN Group.
2. Place the battery by first inserting the upper section into the opening.
WARNING There is danger of explosion if the battery is placed in an incorrect way or if it is exposed to fire. Do not short circuit it. The battery does not have any part that you can change. Do not try to open the battery casing. Use only the appropriate chargers and batteries as shown in the phone manufacturer's catalogue. The use of other types of chargers or batteries may be dangerous and invalidate the warranty. Used batteries must be disposed of in the appropriate places. We advise you to take the battery out if you plan not to use the phone for extended periods. You are strongly advised not to connect your phone to the charger if it doesn't contain a battery. The charger is a safety step-down transformer, it is forbidden to modify, alter or replace it by another component (power supply plug, etc). If the battery has been entirely discharged the phone cannot start. You must plug the charger to the mobile for a while, up to 30 minutes. Once the screen lights up, you can turn on your phone by a long press on the red button.

Idle screen
The idle screen may contain the following information: 1 - The title bar icons: Battery Silent mode (the ringtone is off) Call forward Roaming Signal strength level (between 0 and 5 bars) Message received (read your message) Alarm Voice message (at least 1 message that hasn't been listened to in the Voicemail) 2 - Network provider 3 - Date and time 4 - The following information may also be displayed: « 1 New message» or « 1 missed call » (incoming call ailed). It can be deleted by pressing the Red key briefly. 5 - Next alarm time is displayed (within next 24h)
Using your phone
Switching on
Press and hold the Red key to switch your phone on. A short display appears. If access to the SIM card is protected, the phone prompts you to enter the PIN number: between 4 and 8 digits given to you when the SIM card was issued. These digits do not appear on the screen for security reasons. WARNING When a wrong PIN number is entered three times consecutively, your SIM card will be blocked. To unblock it: - Enter the PUK (Personal Unblocking Key) code provided by : your operator, and accept. - Enter a new PIN number and accept. - Enter your new PIN number again and validate. After 5 or 10 failed attempts (depending on the type of SIM card), the SIM card is definitely locked. You must then contact your operator or your SMC to obtain a new card. Once the network name appears on the screen, the phone is ready to make a first call.
Contacts
Using the contacts
Enter the Contacts menu, the contacts list is displayed if you already have some (otherwise, go to Storing a new contact). When a contact is selected, the name, the number and the associate picture are displayed. Then press the Left soft key or the OK key, various options are proposed. You can search for a contact quickly by typing the first 3 letters.
Messages
Compose & send message
From Messages menu select the Write message menu and validate. When the text has been entered, press the Left soft key: - select Send, to send the message by entering the receiver's number or selecting several contacts from the contacts or all contacts in one group as recipients. - select Save to drafts, if you do not want to send message immediately or if you want to send it several times; it is saved in the Drafts. - Select T9, helps you to easily write your messages. Press once the key corresponding to the letter chosen and compose the word by continuing to press the keys corresponding to the various letters without paying attention to the display: the word is highlighted. If the word that appears is not the word you expected, press the navigation keys to scroll through the words corresponding to this key sequence. Once you agree on the word proposed on the screen, press the Left soft key to validate it or on the 0 key (which validates and inserts a space after the word), and go on writing the next word. - Select abc, allows you to type letters: press on one key several times to make the letter wanted appear (for example: press twice the 2 key to display B). - Select User database, if the word you are expected is not proposed, please add characters until you get the message "Add this word to user database?", press the OK key and validate. You can modify the word before adding it in the user database. - Select Input language, select the different language to edit the message when using T9 mode. Note that you can switch the ABC/abc/Abc/T9/123 mode pressing * key. Note also that a message acknowledgement of reception can be activated in the menu Messages/Settings/Acknowledgement.

Display
- Wallpaper: This menu allows you to select a wallpaper. Random: Will display every image in random order. My pictures: Use the Up/Down keys to select the wallpaper from proposed list including the photo and downloaded pictures. Progressive: Wallpaper depends on current time & battery level. - Greeting message: This menu allows you to display the greeting message when switching on the phone. If you choose Enable, you can edit a greeting message that will be displayed everytime you switch on your phone. - Language: This menu allows you to choose your phone's display language. Select your language and validate. If you select Automatic, the language used will be the one relative to your SIM card. - Contrast: This menu is used to adjust screen contrast using the navigation keys. - Operator logo: This menu allows you to hide your operator's logo on the idle screen. - Avatar: This menu allows you to activate or deactivate avatar function. If you choose Enable, the phone automatically associates an Avatar to every new number.

From the Contacts menu, select Add contact and press the Left soft key to enter the menu. - Choose the place where you wish to store the contact (SIM card or mobile) using the Up/Down keys, and validate. - Enter the last name and press the OK key. - Enter the number and press the Left soft key or the OK key. - Choose a group to which you want to allocate this contact and press the OK key (only for the contacts stored in the mobile). - Choose an associate picture from My pictures or Avatar (you can change the avatar by the navigation keys) and press the Left soft key or the OK key. - Press the Left soft key to store it.
Sounds
This menu allows you to customize the ringtones, to adjust the volume and set the vibrating mode. From the Sounds menu, choose Calls/Messages/Alarm menu and validate. Use the Up/Down keys to select the ring tones from the proposed list and validate. From the Sounds menu, choose Volume menu and validate. Adjust the volume of the ring tones using the Left/Right keys. Note that the keypad beeps can be deactivated by reducing their volumes to zero. From the Sounds menu, choose Vibrate menu and validate. This menu allows you to activate the vibrate mode for calls. During a call, you can also use the navigation keys to adjust the call volume.
Date / Time
- Set date / time: This menu allows you to set the date and time of your phone. Set the time by entering it directly in digital format or by using the Up/Down keys, then use the Right/Left keys to access the next (or previous) input field. Once the time is correct, accept it. Date: Same procedure as for setting the time. - Date format: It allows to choose which date format shall be used. Use the Up/Down keys to select date format and validate. - Date separator: It allows choosing which mark to use for dividing date display (19/01/07). Use the Up/Down keys to select and validate. - Time format: It allows choosing which time format to use. Use the Up/Down keys to select 12 hours or 24 hours and validate. - Display: Select the desired display type, either None or Analog or Digital or Calendar.
Shortcuts
The Left/Right/Up/Down keys can be customized as shortcut of the following features: None, Main menu, Inbox, Contacts, Calls, Alarm, Extras, Calendar, Write message. In the menu Settings/Shortcuts, select the key that you wish to customize and validate. Choose then the function that you want to access through this key and validate.
Own number
You can create the entries corresponding to your own numbers in order to consult them when necessary. Select Own number and validate. Enter the different details and validate.
Auto. keypad lock
On the Settings menu, please select the Automatic keypad lock menu and validate. If the automatic keypad lock is activated, the keypad will be locked after 30 seconds of inactivity.
When the keypad is locked, emergency calls are still possible. In order to unlock your keypad, press the * key then the OK key.

Accessories plugging/unplugging procedure
In order to plug any supported accessories such as battery charger, stereo headset, or data cable, you must first open the cover located to the right side of the phone and then plug it in the right direction. The accessory can be easier to remove by operating a little rotation counterclockwise as shown on the picture.
Soft keys
Two soft keys (left and right) perform the actions indicated by the icon above them (respectively on the bottom left and bottom right sides of the screen).
