If the size of your monitor is small, or if the same image is present for long periods of time, you may see afterimages due to damage to the fluorescent substance on the inside of the CDT. Do not use a damaged or loose plug. This may cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not pull the plug out by the wire nor touch the plug with wet hands. This may cause an electric shock or fire.
Use only a properly grounded plug and receptacle. An improper ground may cause electric shock or equipment damage.
Do not excessively bend the plug and wire nor place heavy objects upon them, which could cause damage. Failure to do so may cause an electric shock or fire.
Disconnect the plug from the outlet during storms or lightening or if it is not used for a long period of time. Failure to do so may cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not connect too many extension cords or plugs to an outlet. This may cause a fire.
Do not cover the vents on the monitor cabinet. Bad ventilation may cause a breakdown or fire.

Put your monitor in a location with low humidity and a minimum of dust. An electric shock or fire could result inside the monitor.
Do not drop the monitor when moving it. This may cause damage to the product or human body.
Place the monitor on a flat and stable surface. The monitor can cause injury by falling.
Set down the monitor carefully. It could be damaged or broken.
Do not place the monitor face down. The CDT surface may be damaged.
Do not use the monitor without the monitor stand. It could break down or cause a fire due to bad ventilation. If the monitor must be used without the supplied stand, take steps to insure proper ventilation.
Notational Power Installation
When cleaning the monitor case or the surface of the CDT, wipe with a slightly moistened, soft fabric. Do not clean Flat monitor with water. Use a water-diluted mild detergent. (Some detergents contain significant amounts of alcohol-based solvents, which can damage (color change) or crack the monitor case. The antiglare/anti-static surface coating on the CDT may also be affected.) Dilute the detergent (1:10 ratio) with water before using. Do not spray detergent directly on the monitor.

Use the recommended detergent with a smooth cloth. You can prevent the coated CDT from being damaged or the monitor cabinet from being dissolved, cracked or discolored. You can buy a recommended detergent at any Samsung Service Center.
If the connector between the plug and the pin is dusty or dirty, clean it properly with a dry cloth. A dirty connector can cause an electric shock or fire.
Do not set a glass of water, chemicals or any small metal objects on the monitor. This may cause damage, electric shock or a fire. If a foreign substance gets into the monitor, disconnect the plug and then contact a service center.
Do not remove cover(or back). No user serviceable parts inside. This may cause an electric shock or a fire. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

The Highlight Zone ensures clear images on TVs, video conferencing systems or photos by emphasizing a certain area on the screen. Use this button for Exit the active menu or the OSD. These buttons allow you to highlight and adjust items in the menu. Use this button for open the OSD and activate a highlighted menu item. This light glows green during normal operation, and blinks green once as the monitor saves your adjustments. Use this button for turn the monitor on and off.
Note: See PowerSaver described in the manual for further information regarding power saving functions. For energy conservation, turn your monitor OFF when it is not needed, or when leaving it unattended for long periods.

Connect the signal cable to the video port on your computer, video board, video card, or graphics card. Connect the power cord for your monitor to the power port on the back of the monitor. You can separate the base from the monitor.

Installing the Monitor Driver Base Installation
1. Connect the power cord for your monitor to the power port on the back of the monitor. Plug the power cord for the monitor into a nearby outlet. 2. Connect the signal cable to the 15-pin D-sub connector on the back of your monitor. Connect the signal cable to the video port on your computer, video board, video card, or graphics card. 3. If you are using a Macintosh computer, connect the cable to a Macintosh adapter, and set the pins on your adapter(Adapter not included). A PC-compatible computer does not need an adapter. 4. Connect the signal cable to the BNC signal port on the back of your monitor/computer.(Option) 5. Connect the USB cable to the USB port on the back of your monitor/computer.(Option) 6. Turn on your computer and monitor. If your monitor displays an image, installation is complete.

1. Insert CD into the CD-ROM driver. 2. Click "Start" --> "Control Panel" then click the "Appearance and Themes" Icon.
3. Click "Display" icon and choose the "Settings" tab then click "Advanced..".
4. Click the "Properties" button on the "Monitor" tab and select "Driver" tab.

Click "Start" , "Setting" , "Control Panel". Double click the "Display" Icon. Choose the "Settings" tab and then click "Advanced..". Choose "Monitor". Case1: If the "Properties" button is inactive, it means your monitor is properly configured. Microsoft® Windows® NT Operating System 1. Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, and then double-click Display icon. 2. In Display Registration Information window, click Settings Tab and then click All Display Modes. 3. Select a mode that you wish to use (Resolution, Number of colors and Vertical frequency) and then click OK. 4. Click Apply button if you see the screen working normally after clicking Test. If the screen is not normal, change to a different mode (lower mode of resolution, colors or frequency). Note: If there is no Mode at All Display Modes, select the level of resolution and vertical frequency by referring to the Preset Timing Modes in the user guide.
Linux Operating System To execute X-Window, you need to make the X86Config file, which is a type of system setting file. Press Enter at the first and the second screen after executing the X86Config file. The third screen is for setting your mouse. Set a mouse for your computer. The next screen is for selecting a keyboard. Set a Keyboard for your computer. The next screen is for setting your monitor. First of all, set a horizontal frequency for your monitor. (You can enter the frequency directly.) 8. Set a vertical frequency for your monitor. (You can enter the frequency directly.) 9. Enter the model name of your monitor. With the built-in pedestal, you can tilt and/or swivel the monitor for the most comfortable viewing angle.
Base Installation
Note: The base is detachable.
Attaching the Base 1. 2. 3. 4. Place the monitor upside-down on a flat work surface. Align the tabs on the base with the corresponding slots on the bottom of the monitor. Press the base onto the monitor until the tabs are fully engaged in the slots. Push the base toward the front of the monitor until the release latch clicks into the locked position. * Do not bend the snap.
Removing the Base 5. Squeeze and pull up on the release latch on the base. 6. Push the base toward the back of the monitor and lift up to remove the base. Note: The base will align with the monitor slots in only one position.

Color1
Color temperature is a measure of the 'warmth' of the image colors. The available range is between 5000 to 9300K. Follow these steps to change the color temperature and adjust individual R,G,B color control. Note: Recall does not reset the color settings. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Color screen is displayed. Use the button or button to select Color1. Push the Menu( ) button to open the Color1 adjustment screen. Adjust the color temperature as close to the desired temperature as possible using only the and buttons. To fine tune the color hue, use the or button to select R(ed), G(reen) or B(lue), then use the and buttons until you reach the desired color.

Purity

Clear Moire
A 'moire' pattern can appear on your screen, looking like a series of concentric circles or arcs. To eliminate this pattern, use the clear moire adjustments. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Screen OSD is displayed. Push the button or button to select Clear Moire. Push the Menu( ) button to open the Clear Moire adjustment screen. Use the button or button to adjust horizontal moire; use the button or button to adjust vertical moire.
Linearity
Adjust the linearity setting when the display image is compressed at the left,right or top,bottom. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Screen OSD is displayed. Push the button or button to select Linearity. Push the Menu( ) button to open the Linearity adjustment screen. Use the button or button to adjust the vertical Linearity.

Focus
Use the focus control when the image displayed on the screen is not sharp in all areas. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Screen OSD is displayed. Push the button or button to select Focus. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Focus adjustment screen. Use the button or button to adjust the focus along the left and right areas of the screen. Use the button or button to adjust the center area of the screen.
Convergence
Convergence affects picture clarity. Adjust the horizontal or vertical convergence to properly align the color dots that make up the image. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Screen OSD is displayed. Push the button or button to select Convergence. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Convergence adjustment screen. Use the button or button to adjust the horizontal convergence. Use the button or button to adjust the vertical convergence.

Degauss
The Degauss feature will remove color impurities caused by magnetic fields. Do not use the Degauss feature more than once within a 30-minute period. Note: The monitor may buzz momentarily, the image colors may change and the image will jiggle for a few seconds. These effects are normal. 1 2 3 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Advanced screen is displayed. Push the Menu( ) button to execute the degauss function. The degaussing screen will appear. After a few seconds, the degauss main menu will return.
Recall
Use the recall feature to reset these monitor settings to their original levels: Position, Size, Pincushion, Trapezoid, Parallelogram, Pinbalance, Rotation, Clear Moire. Note: If you have selected "Yes", all settings listed above will be reset. All other settings will remain the same. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Advanced screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select Recall. Push the Menu( ) button to open the recall selection screen. Push the button to select YES. If you don't want to reset the monitor,use the button to select NO.

Video Input Level
Some video cards use video signals higher than 1.0V which causes the display to be very bright. For those video cards, use this feature to select the 1.0 V Level. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Advanced screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select Video Input Level. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Video Input Level selection screen. Use the or buttons to select 0.7 V or 1.0 V.
Sync. Input Type
Use this menu to set your monitor to the correct type of synchronization. Select 'Separate' if the computer is sending a separate synchronization signal. Select 'Sync. on Green' if the computer expects the monitor to synchronize with the green signal it sends. Refer to your computer or video card user's manual to determine the correct setting. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Advanced screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select Sync. Input Type. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Sync. Input Type selection screen. Use the button or button to select Separate or Sync. on Green.

D-SUB/BNC
Use this menu to choose between the signal source connected to the BNC connector input and the signal source connected to the D-SUB connector input. Note: When you are finished, wait for a few seconds and the screen will blank then display the image from the new signal source(other computer). A cable must be connected to both inputs to use this function. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Advanced screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select D-SUB/BNC. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the D-SUB/BNC selection screen. Use the button or button to select D-SUB or BNC.
Display timing
You can see the frequency (user control mode) used by the user, the polarity of the operational signals, the default frequency (default mode) set when you buy the monitor and the resolution level. Note: These screens do not allow any changes to the settings, they are for information only. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Menu screen is displayed. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Display Timing adjustment screen. Use the button to see the user control mode and the default mode.

Menu Position
You can change the position where the OSD menu appears on your monitor. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu( ) button. Push the button or button until the Menu screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select Menu Position. Push the Menu( ) button to open the Menu Position adjustment screen. Use the button or button to place the menu in the position you prefer.
Menu Duration
The menu will automatically turn off if no adjustments are made for a certain time period. You can set the amount of time the menu will wait before it turns off. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Languages
Follow these steps to change the language used in the menu. You can choose one of ten languages. English, German,French, Italian, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish, Russian, Polish ,or Magyar. (Some OSD languages may not appear in some areas.) The language chosen affects only the language of the OSD. It has no effect on any software running on the computer. 1 2 3 4 Push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button until the Menu screen is displayed. Push the button or button to select Languages. Push the Menu ( ) button to open the Languages selection screen. Use the button or button to select the language you would like to use.

Push the button or button to select the Screen Position Adjustment and then push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button to move the position of the Highlight Zone horizontally and use the push the button or button to move it vertically.

Sharpness
This function is to adjust the sharpness of the Highlight Zone. 1 2 3 Push the Highlight button. Push the button or button to select the Sharpness Adjustment and then push the Menu ( ) button. Push the button or button to adjust the sharpness of the Highlight Zone.

Brightness
This setting allows you to adjust screen brightness for better viewing, depending on your lighting conditions, etc.
Contrast
This setting allows you to adjust screen contrast for better viewing, depending on the image and colors on the screen. As the contrast value approaches 0, the picture becomes too dark to see clearly. Therefore, this value should be 25 or higher.
Color Temperature
This setting adjusts the color temperature (also known as 'warmth'), in a range from 9300K (bluish hue) to 5000K (reddish hue).

This setting adjusts the picture color tone by controlling each of the individual RGB hues.

Position
This setting adjusts the vertical or horizontal position of the image area on the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click your mouse pointer on the Position icon and then drag it as desired. The entire image area of the screen will move freely in any direction, according to the mouse cursor movement. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Position icon, the icon color will change. Then, click the left mouse button. The fine tuning sub-menu appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over any of the fine tuning arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. Click the left mouse button to achieve the desired Position fine tuning. 3. Holding the mouse button down will cause the value to change rapidly.

Size
This setting adjusts the image area height and width on the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click your mouse cursor on the Size icon and then drag it as desired. The Horizontal Size (Width) adjustment icon is located on the left and right sides and the Vertical Size (Height) adjustment icon is located on the top and bottom parts of the screen. To increase the Width, drag outward on the grid where the icons are located. To decrease the Width, drag inward. To increase the Height, drag upward on the grid where the icons are located. To decrease the Height, drag downward. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Size icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button. The fine tuning sub-menu appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over any of the Size fine tuning arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. Then, click the left mouse button to achieve the desired Size fine tuning. 3. Holding the mouse button down will cause the value to change rapidly.

This corrects the skewed image area on the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click your mouse pointer on the Rotation icon and then drag as desired. The Rotation icon is located at the corners of the screen. To de-skew the image area, drag the mouse along the direction of the arrow. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Rotation icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button. The fine tuning sub-menu appears in the left bottom corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over either of the left or right arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. Then, click the left mouse button to achieve the desired Rotation fine tuning. 3. Holding the mouse button down will cause the value to change rapidly.

Pincushion
This setting straightens the right and left vertical pins of the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click the mouse pointer on the Pincushion icon and then drag it as desired. The Pincushion icon is located in the center of the screen. If the mouse is dragged to the left, the image area becomes convex. If the mouse is dragged to the right, the image area becomes concave. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Pincushion icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button and the Pincushion fine tuning sub-menu appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over any of the Pincushion fine tuning arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. This corrects the pin balance of the left and right side of the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click your mouse pointer on the Pin Balance icon and then drag it as desired. If the mouse is dragged to the right, the image area becomes tilts to the right. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Pin Balance icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button and the Pin Balance fine tuning sub-menu appears in the left bottom corner of the screen. Trapezoid
This adjusts the horizontal width of the image area on the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click the mouse pointer on the Trapezoid icon and then drag it as desired. The Trapezoid icon is located on the top and bottom sides. If the mouse is dragged to the left, the upper image area narrows and the bottom part widens. If the mouse is dragged to the right, the upper image area widens and the bottom part narrows. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Trapezoid icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button and the Trapezoid fine tuning sub-menu appears in the left bottom corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over either of the left or right arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. Parallel
This adjusts the parallelogram level of the screen. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click the mouse pointer on the Parallelogram icon and then drag as desired. The Parallelogram icon is located in the screen corners. If the mouse is dragged to the left, the image area tilts to the right. If the mouse is dragged to the right, the image area tilts to the left. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Parallelogram icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button to pop up the Parallelogram fine tuning sub-menu in the left bottom corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over either of the left or right arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when the icon is selected. Then, click the left mouse button to achieve the desired Parallelogram fine tuning. 3. Holding the mouse button down will cause the value to change rapidly.

Moire
This setting removes wavy concentric circles or arc patterns. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click your mouse pointer on the Moire icon and then drag it as desired. The icon is located in the left and right corners of the screen. The value decreases when the arrow is dragged to the left, and increases when the arrow is dragged to the right. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Moire icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button and its fine tuning sub-menu appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over either of the left or right arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected. Sidepin Corner
This setting fine tunes the side pins of the screen corners in their opposite directions. 1. Selection and Adjustment : Place and click the mouse pointer on the Corner Side Pin icon and then drag it as desired. The icons are divided into Top and Bottom Corner Side Pin icons and are located in the upper and lower parts, respectively. The upper icon is for the Top Corner Side pin adjustment while the lower icon is for the Bottom Corner Side Pin adjustment. If the mouse is dragged to the left, for both the icons, the corner side pins shrink inward. If the mouse is dragged to the right, they expand outward. 2. Fine Tuning : When the mouse pointer is correctly placed over the Corner Side Pin icon, the icon color changes. Then, click the left mouse button and the Corner Side Pin fine tuning sub-menu appears in the bottom left corner of the screen. When the mouse cursor is correctly placed over either of the left or right arrows, the arrow color changes, as it does when an icon is selected.
