Installing Batteries Remove the cover. Install two AAA size batteries, then replace the cover. When the remote control does not operate normally, check that the "+" and "Â" ends of the batteries are inserted correctly or the batteries are drained. Do not mix battery types, i.e. alkaline and manganese.
Turning the TV On and Off
Press the POWER button on the remote control. You can also use the POWER button on the TV.
Viewing the Menus
1 Press the MENU button. The main menu is displayed on the screen. Its left side has five icons: "Input", "Picture", "Sound", "Channel", and "Setup". Press the or button to select one of the icons. Press the ENTER button to access the icon's sub-menu. Press the or button to move to items in the menu. Press the ENTER button to enter items in the menu. Press the /// button to change the selected items. Press the MENU button to return to the previous menu. Press the EXIT button to exit from the menu.

Setup - Plug & Play
When the TV is initially powered on, several basic customer settings proceed automatically and subsequently. The following settings are available. 1 Press the POWER button on the remote control. The message "Plug & Play" is displayed. It flickers for a little while and then Language menu is automatically displayed. Press the or button to select the language, then press the MENU button. The message "Ant input check" is displayed.

Channel - Memorizing the Channels
Your TV can memorize and store all of the available channels for both air and cable channels. After the available channels are memorized, use the CH and CH buttons to scan through the channels. This eliminates the need to change channels by entering the channel digits. There are three steps for memorizing channels: "Air/CATV", "Auto Program" and "Add/Delete". Air/CATV Channel Auto Program Before your TV can begin Add/Delete : Deleted memorizing the available Air/CATV : Air channels, you must specify Name : ---the type of signal source LNA : Off that is connected to the TV Move Adjust Skip (i.e., an antenna or a cable system). Select "Air", "STD", "HRC", or "IRC" by pressing the or button. Auto Program All available channels are automatically stored in memory when channels are selected by the direct tuning function. Press the ENTER button at any time to interrupt the memorization process. Add/Delete You can add or delete a channel to display the channels you want only. To use the "Add/Delete" function, first run Auto Program. Select "Deleted" or "Added" by pressing the or button.
Channel - Name
Use this feature to assign an easy-to-remember label to any channel (i.e., "CBS", "ESPN", "PBS2", "CNN1", etc.). A label consists of four fields, where each field is a letter (A~Z), a number (0~9), a blank, or -. When the INFO button is pressed, the channel label will appear next to the channel number.

When a weak broadcast signal causes an unclear, noisy picture, the "LNA" feature improves the picture quality by setting to "On". If you experience noise on a certain channel, set the "LNA" to "On" or "Off" for this channel, to obtain the optimum picture.

Setup - Time
Clock Setting the clock is necessary in order to use the various timer features of the TV. Also, you can check the time while watching the TV. (Just press the INFO button.)

Setup - Caption
Your TV decodes and displays Caption Caption : On the closed captions that are Mode : Caption broadcast with certain TV shows. Channels :1 These captions are usually Field :1 subtitles for the hearing impaired or foreign-language translations. All VCRs record the closed Move Enter Return caption signal from TV programs, so home-recorded video tapes also provide closed captions. Most pre-recorded commercial video tapes provide closed captions as well. Check for the closed caption symbol in your TV schedule and on the tape's packaging: C C . Caption: On/Off You can activate or deactivate the "Caption" function. Press the CAPTION button on the remote control repeatedly to select "On" or "Off".

Language When you start using the TV for the first time, you must select the language which will be used for displaying menus and indications.

On Timer / Off Timer You can set the On/Off timers so that the TV will switch on or off automatically at the time you select. You must set the clock first.
Blue Screen If no signal is being received or the signal is very weak, a blue screen automatically replaces the noisy picture background. If you wish to continue viewing the poor picture, you must set the "Blue Screen" to "Off".
Sleep Timer You can select a time period of between 30 and 180 minutes after which the TV automatically switches to standby mode. Press the SLEEP button on the remote control repeatedly until the appropriate time interval appears (any of the preset values from "30 Min." to "180 Min.").
Melody You can hear melody sound when the TV is powered on or off. Demonstration To become familiar with the various menus provided by the TV, you can view the in built demonstration. Each of the menu options is displayed in turn. When you wish to stop the demonstration, press any button on the remote control.
On Timer Volume The preferred volume can be set for when the timer automatically turns on the TV.
Mode - In "Caption" mode, captions appear at the bottom of the screen, and they usually cover only a small portion of the picture. - In "Text" mode, information unrelated to the program, such as news or weather, is displayed. Text often covers a large portion of the screen. Channels / Field Depending on the particular broadcast, it might be necessary to make changes to "Channels" and "Field". Different channels and fields display different information: Field 2 carries additional information that supplements the information in Field 1. (For example, Channel 1 may have subtitles in English, while Channel 2 has subtitles in Spanish.)
Auto Power Off
When you set the timer "On", the TV will eventually turn off, if no controls are operated for 3 hours after the TV was turned on by timer. This function is only available in timer "On" mode and prevents overheating or leakages, which may occur if a TV is on for too long.
Misspellings and unusual characters sometimes occur
during closed caption transmissions, especially those of live events. There may be a small delay before captions appear when you change channels. These are not malfunctions of the TV.
