Markingbythesymbol indicates compliance of this equipment to the Radio and Telecom Terminal Equipment Directive1999/5/EC.Suchmarkingisindicativethat thisequipmentmeetsorexceedsthefollowingtechnical standards: CTR21-Attachmentrequirementsforpan-European approvalforconnectiontotheanaloguePublicSwitched TelephoneNetworks(PSTNs)ofTE(excludingTE supporting voice telephony services) in which network addressing, ifprovided, isbymeansofDualToneMultiFrequency(DTMF)signaling.
Although this equipment can use either loop disconnect(pulse)orDTMF(tone)signaling, only theperformanceoftheDTMFsignalingissubjectto regulatoryrequirementsforcorrectoperation. It is therefore strongly recommended that the equipment is set to use DTMF signaling for access topublicorprivateemergencyservices.DTMF signalingalsoprovidesfastercallsetup.
