System Requirements · Windows 98SE, Windows ME, Windows 2000, Windows XP · Bluetooth adapter · Analog modem (9-pin RS -232) 3. · · · · Installation 3.1 Hardware Installation Connect the telephone line to the RJ -11 socket of the modem. Connect the Bluetooth Modem Adapter to the 9-pin serial port of the modem. Plug in the power adapter of the Bluetooth Modem Adapter to the power outlet. Connect the Bluetooth Modem Adapter to the power adapter. 3.2 Dial-up Networking Note: The Bluetooth Modem Adapter uses no drivers or software. How to install and use the modem adapter depends on the Bluetooth adapter you use. The pictures shown in this manual are based on a Sitecom Bluetooth adapter. When usin g a different brand bluetooth adapter please refer to the Bluetooth adapter's manual how to pair with the Bluetooth modem adapter and setup a dial-up connection. · Open the Bluetooth software of the Bluetooth adapter and scan for new Bluetooth devices. · The Bluetooth modem adapter will be found. Right click the icon of the modem adapter and select `Pair Device' to setup a connection between the Bluetooth adapter and the Bluetooth modem adapter. 2 · Fill in the PIN code, which can be found on the back label of the Bluetooth Modem Adapter and click OK. · When the Bluetooth Modem Adapter is `paired' to the Bluetooth adapter right click the icon of the modem adapter again and select `Discover Available Services'. · The services provided by the Bluetooth modem adapter will appear. Right click the icon `Dial-up Networking on Bluetooth Modem' and select `Connect Dial-up Networking'. When the connection is established the service icon will change colour from yellow to green. 3 · When using a dial-up connection for the first time the following screen should pop up on Windows 98SE and ME. Select the country you are in and type in the area code. Click `Close' to continue. On Windows 2000 and Windows XP this screen will not appear. · Fill in your `Username', `Password' and `Phone number' and click `Connect' or `Dial'. 4 · The Bluetooth modem will dial-up to the internet or the network. A screen will appear that the connection is established, click `Close' on Windows 98SE/ME or `OK' on Windows 2000. · You a now able to browse the internet. · To disconnect the dial-up connection right click the icon `Dial-up Networking on Bluetooth Modem' and select `Disconnect Dial-up Networking'. It is also possible to disconnect the dial-up connection via the connection icon in the system tray. · Click `Yes' to disconnect the dial-up connection. 5 ...
