This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to fit in a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician. Do not attempt to defeat this safety feature.
TO USE THE CAN OPENER
1. Plug electrical cord into 120 volt, 60 cycle AC outlet. 2. Place can against front of drive wheel with top edge of can touching guide pin. (See diagram A) 3 . Push handle down and hold until the can lid is automatically pierced and the cutting action begins. (See diagram B) 4. It is not necessary to hold the can opener handle down during the cutting cycle. 5. When can is fully opened, the cutting action will automatically stop. The can will remain in position until the handle is raised. To release the can, grip the can firmly in one hand and raise the handle with the other hand. (See diagram C) The magnet will retain the lid. Dented Cans Occasionally, badly dented cans will cause the can opener to stall. If this happens, grasp the dented can and guide it through the cutting action manually, until the damaged areas are passed. Jammed Cans To open a can that has become jammed, raise the can opener lever and release the can. Begin the cutting action again in a new place on the can lip.
Before cleaning UNPLUG THE CORD FROM OUTLET. To insure proper sanitation, the Pop & CleanTM module should be detached and cleaned thoroughly in the dishwasher or in warm, sudsy water at regular intervals. The motor housing wipes easily using a damp cloth. NEVER IMMERSE THE MOTOR HOUSING IN WATER. MAKE SURE THE HANDLE IS IN THE UPRIGHT POSITION. Unplug the can opener. Hold the can opener with both hands and firmly press down on the eject button. (see Diagram A) Pull the module out using the magnetic arm. To replace the POP & CLEANTM Module grip the unit with both hands and firmly push the module with magnet side facing out into the unit. (See diagram B)
