322 Quick Start guide This Quick Start Guide is intended to help you use some of the functions of the 322 which may be unfamiliar to you. Locate to the appropriate position on both tapes. Use the PHONES control, switching between 1 and 2 as appropriate to help you. 2 Set the 322 to dub either on one side (Ä) or both (ä) side of the tape, using the REV MODE switch. 3 3 Select either HI SPEED (double-speed) dubbing or NORM (normal speed) dubbing, using the DUB STDBY (dubbing standby) buttons. Pressing either of these buttons also puts both decks into ready mode (Deck 1 is in play ready, and Deck 2 is in record ready). 4 If double-sided copying is already selected, select SYNC REVERSE to start the second side of each tape at the same time, even if the tapes are different lengths. 5 Press the (forward) PLAY button on Deck 2 to start the dubbing (Deck 1 plays and Deck 2 records). 6 In normal-speed mode, pause both decks by pressing PAUSE on Deck 2; pressing PAUSE, STOP, F FWD or REW on Deck 1 puts Deck 2 into record pause. 7 Stop dubbing by pressing Deck 2 STOP (normal and highspeed) or Deck 1 STOP (high-speed only). 9101440800 322 Quick Start guide Continuous playback using both decks One of the useful features of the 322 is the ability to play back continuously, using both decks, allowing long programs of background music to be played back using only one unit. 3 4 21 5 6 1 Both decks can share one set of outputs, or each deck can use separate outputs. For separate outputs, make separate connections to different amplifier/speaker systems. For shared outputs, use Deck 1's outputs. Set the INPUT/OUTPUT switch to COMMON (shared output) or SEPARATE (separate outputs). 2 Ensure that the REV MODE switch is set to CONT (continuous playback). 3 Load a tape into both decks. Select the appropriate Dolby setting for each deck. 4 Press PLAY on Deck 1. Playback starts at the start of Deck 1's tape and goes on to the end. Reverse playback then continues from the end of Deck 1's tape, to the start of the tape. Playback then starts at the start of Deck 2's tape and goes on to the end. Reverse playback continues from the end of Deck 2's tape, to the start of the tape. This sequence is repeated. 5 Press STOP (either Deck 1 or Deck 2) to stop the continuous playback. 322 Quick Start guide Recording on both decks at the same time Another useful feature of the 322 is ability of both decks to record at the same time from a single source or sequential recording from a single source.
