If you are having trouble mounting the gearbox to your lens, examine the lens carefully to determine the mounting configuration for both the threaded screw and the guide pin. When in doubt contact VariZoom for assistance. Assembly 1. Insert the spade tip of the drive cable into the threaded port of the focus handle. Screw the collar down until no threads are visible.(fig 1) Gently rotate the foam handle while threading the collar for a secure fit. 2. Mount the focus block onto your lens, paying careful attention to align the guide pin and threaded screw to their respective holes.(fig 2) Screw the knob until snug against the lens body, excessive force on this screw could damage your lens. Rotate the zoom ring to check for the proper fit. 3. Insert the spade tip into the threaded port of the focus gearbox. Use the same methods from step one to complete the installation. NOTE: All parts should rotate smoothly and easily. If the threaded collars are fastened too tightly the cable will bind, these fittings should be hand tightened only.
