IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Fire hazard: when drilling, take care not to damage concealed wiring harnesses, the fuel tank or fuel lines.
A A A A A A A A A A A A A
The unit must only be installed by trained personnel. Observe automotive industry quality standards and the relevant local statutory regulations.
Never drill into supporting or safety-relevant body parts.
It is essential to observe the following when installing components in the passenger compartment: Ensure that the driver has a clear all-round view.
Increased risk of injury in the event of an accident. Do not install components in the inflation range of the airbag or in areas where the head may knock against them. Only install the unit in vehicles with a 12-V on-board voltage; connect negative pole to earth. Installation in unsuitable vehicles (e. g. heavy goods vehicles, buses) results in a risk of malfunction, damage and fire. Do not damage safety system wiring (airbag etc.). (Lines are normally specially marked, for example by labels). Do not use test lamps to test the voltage, since excessively high currents could damage/ destroy electronic components. Do not use any pinch or cut connectors. Solder all wiring connections. Insulate all solder points with shrink hose or insulating tape. Fit toothed washers at earth connections to the vehicle body. If necessary, remove paint and dirt beforehand. Subsequently, protect bare metal against corrosion. In order to ensure perfect installation, use only the original components supplied. The use of non-authorised components may result in malfunction. Do not install the unit in positions where it is exposed to high temperatures, dust, dirt or excessive vibration (e.g. due to direct sunlight or heating vents).

Cable colour Red Black Connection +12 V ignition positive / accessory contact Battery negative / earth
Before starting work, disconnect the earth lead from the negative terminal of the vehicle battery in order to prevent short circuits. At the same time, follow the vehicle manufacturer's safety instructions (alarm system, airbag, immobiliser, radio coding, etc.).
A A A
The fuse of the red connecting cable (+ 12 V) must not be removed. The + 12 V ignition positive / accessory contact must be designed for a current of at least 2 A. Only connect electrical signals to suitable connecting points in the vehicle.
s Remote-control output If you use a VDO Dayton DV 6100 / DV 6200 DVD player, you can connect the 3.5-mm jack on the monitor connecting cable to the remote-control input on the DVD player. The remotecontrol signals will then be received by the monitor and forwarded to the DVD player. s Compatibility The MM 2700 is compatible with the PC 54xx navigation computers and above (CA 1255 adapter cable is required). The MM 2700 can be used to a limited extent in conjunction with the MI 2xxx multimedia interface boxes (CA 1255 adapter cable is required). The MM 2700 is not compatible with the MI 5000 or MC 5400.
