In Canada go to www.vtechcanada. com or dal 1 (800) 267-7377. · Remove battery compartment cover by pressng on the ndentaton and sldng downwards. · Algn the two holes n the plug wth the socket pns accordng to the color-coded label n the battery compartment, then snap the plug nto place. · Place the battery nto the compartment. · Poston the battery compartment cover and slde t upwards untl t clcks nto place. · Put the handset n the telephone base to charge the new battery for at least 16 hours. You can keep the battery charged by returnng the handset to the telephone base after each use. When the battery power s fully depleted, a full recharge takes about 16 hours. Choose a locaton away from any electronc equpment and applances such as personal computers, computer routers, televson sets, mcrowave ovens and refrgerators. Plug power adapter nto an electrcal outlet not controlled by a wall swtch. · Use only the VTech batteres and power adapters (or equvalent) suppled wth ths telephone. Basic operation www.vtechphones.com 3 Installation Desk/table bracket installation To place the telephone base on a desk or table, nsert the desk/table bracket as shown below. · Poston the bracket on the bottom of the telephone base and slde t up towards the tabs on the telephone base untl t clcks nto place. · Remove the bracket by pullng the bracket down wth both hands away from the telephone base. If you have touch-tone servce, your telephone s ready to use as soon as the battery s charged. If you have pulse (rotary) servce, the dal type must be changed. If there s actually a new vocemal message, your local telephone company wll contnue to send a sgnal whch wll cause the NEw voICEMaIL message n the handset and the telephone base voICEMaIL lght to flash. The caller ID features of ths product wll work only f you subscrbe to caller ID servce and both you and the caller are n areas offerng caller ID servce, and f both telephone companes use compatble equpment. Contact your local telephone company f: · you have both caller ID and call watng, but as separate servces (you may need combned servce), · you have only caller ID servce, or only call watng servce, · you do not subscrbe to caller ID or call watng servces but wsh to try them. There may be fees for these servces, and they may not be avalable n all areas. Move t closer to the telephone base. · There may be too many extenson telephones on the telephone lne to allow all of them to rng smultaneously. Try unpluggng some of them. · If the other telephones n your home are havng the same problem, the problem s n the wrng or local servce. Contact the local telephone company (charges may apply). · Other electronc products can cause nterference to your cordless telephone. Try nstallng your telephone as far away as possble from the followng electronc devces: wreless routers, rados, rado towers, pager towers, cellular telephones, dgtal telephones, ntercoms, room montors, televsons, VCRs, personal computers, ktchen applances, and other cordless telephones. · Test a workng telephone at the telephone jack.
