Installation
· Install the telephone base away from electronc equpment such as personal computers, televson sets or mcrowave ovens . Avod excessve heat, cold, dust or mosture . · Connect the power and telephone lne cords to the undersde of the telephone base as llustrated . · Plug the AC adapter nto an electrcal outlet . If the battery has not been prevously charged, place the handset n the telephone base, and allow t to charge for 16 hours . · Ths power unt s ntended to be correctly orentated in a vertical or floor mount poston . The prongs are not desgned to hold the plug n place f t s plugged nto a celng or an under the table/cabnet outlet .

Choose a central locaton wthn the home, away from any electronc equpment and applances such as personal computers, computer routers, televson sets, mcrowave ovens, and refrgerators . Choose location
For maxmum performance of your cordless telephone system: 1 . Choose a central locaton for your telephone base . 2 . Install your telephone base and handset away from electronc equpment, such as personal computers, televson sets and mcrowave ovens . 3 . In locatons where there are multple cordless telephones, separate telephone bases as much as possble . 4 . Install your telephone equpment away from heat sources and sunlght . 5 . Avod excessve mosture, dust or extreme cold .

Install handset battery

a) Algn the two holes n the plug wth the socket pns n the handset battery compartment, matchng the red and black wres to the color-coded label . Snap the plug nto place . Put the battery nto the compartment . b) Place the battery n the compartment wth the wres tucked nsde . c) Replace cover by sldng t up nto place . d) The battery may have enough power for short calls . For best performance, put the handset n the telephone base and charge the battery for at least 16 hours .

Wall mounting bracket installation (optonal)
Your telephone base comes wth the wall mountng/desktop bracket nstalled, ready for desktop use . If you prefer to mount your telephone on the wall (optonal), t s desgned to mount on a standard telephone wall plate . For wall mountng, follow these nstructons: · Frst, nsert the lower porton tabs of the wall mountng/desktop bracket nto the lower grooves n the telephone base, then snap the upper porton tabs of the bracket nto place . · Mount the telephone base on the wall by positioning it so the mounting studs will fit into the holes on the telephone base and wall mountng/desktop bracket . Slde the telephone base down on the mountng studs untl t locks nto place . · To remove the bracket, press both upper portion tabs firmly inward and pull the bracket downward untl t release from the grooves .

Desk/table bracket installation
To place your telephone base on a desk or table, nsert the wall mountng/desktop bracket . · Insert the lower porton tabs of the bracket nto the upper grooves of the telephone base . · Snap the upper porton tabs of the bracket nto place . · To remove the bracket, press both upper porton tabs frmly nward and pull the bracket upward untl t s released from the grooves .

If you subscribe to DSL service:
If you receve hgh speed nternet servce through your phone lne (commonly referred to as DSL), and you are experencng nterference durng conversatons and/or your caller ID features aren't functonng properly, install a DSL filter to the telephone line between the telephone base and the telephone line jack. Check for dial tone
· If the phone wll not be used for a long perod of tme, remove the battery to prevent battery damage . · If you have any trouble nstallng your phone, please vst our webste at www .vtechphones . com .
After the batteres are charged, pck up the handset and press TALK; you should hear a dal tone . If you do not, refer to the Troubleshooting secton n the back of ths user's manual . The battery may have enough power for short calls . Place the handset n the base, NEEDS RECHARGING wll appear on the handset (f the battery s very low) . For best performance, charge the battery for at least 16 hours before usng your telephone . · Press PROG, then press or untl LANGUAGE s dsplayed . Press SELECT . · The current settng blnks . Press or untl the screen dsplays the correct language (Englsh, Espanol and Francas) . · Press SELECT to save your selecton . If you have touch tone servce, the phone s ready to use as soon as the battery s charged . If you have pulse (rotary) servce, you'll need to change the dal mode . · Press PROG. · Press or untl the screen dsplays DIAL MODE: and the current settng . · Press SELECT. The current settng blnks . · Press or to select TONE or PULSE. · Press SELECT to save .
