Virtual Server VirtualServer,alsoknownasportforwarding,allowsyoutoenableotherInternetusersaccesstoservicesrunningonyourlocalnetwork(suchasyourweb server or FTP server). The IP800 series telephone will redirect the Internet userrequeststotheappropriateserverwithinyourlocalnetworkbasedonthe configuredIPaddressandportnumber.Tocreateanewvirtualserver,fillinthe fieldsonthescreenandclickApplytosavethepagesettings.Youmayalso usesettingsforcommonlyusedservicesintheVirtualServertableatthebottom ofthescreenbyclickinganEditbutton. Advanced Settings AnIPfilterisusedtodenyanyspecificcomputerfromaccessingtheInternet usingthecomputer'sIPaddress.Youcandenyaccessbytospecificservices byportnumbersorbyblockingallportsforthespecificcomputer.Toaddanew filter,fillinthefieldsaboveandclickApplytosavethepagesettings.Youcan blockaccesstoseveralofthemostcommonlyusedservicesbyclickinganEdit buttonintheIPFiltertableatthebottomofthescreen.Thiswillcopytheproper settingsintotheIPFilterfields.YouwillonlyneedtoentertheIPaddressofthe computertobeaffectedbythefilter(youcanfindthisnumberbydisplayingthe DHCPscreenundertheAdmintab). IP Filters 28 Advanced Settings · IP Filters:(DefaulttoOn):ClickOntoenableorOfftodisable.Thisindicates whethertheIPfilterisinitiallyenabledordisabledwhenitiscreatedormodified. · Name:EnteranametheIPFilteryouaresettingup. · Destination IP:EntertheprivateIPaddressthatwillbeaffectedbythefilter. Ifleftblank,anycomputersonyourLANwillbeblockedtheInternetaccess. · Port:EnterasingleportorarangeofportsthatwillbedeniedInternetaccess. (Leavethisfieldblanktodenyaccesstoallports.) · Protocol Type:Chooseaprotocoltypetoblock. Whenfinished,clickApplytoaddthenewfilterwhichisthenlistedunderthe IPFilterTable. DMZ(DemilitarizedZone)isafeaturethatexposesadesignatedcomputeron yourlocalnetworktotheInternet.ThecomputerdesignatedastheDMZhost isnotaffectedbyothersecuritymeasures.Use this option with caution. ComputersdesignatedasDMZmaybevulnerabletosecurityrisks.
