Do not install the Boom Box in a position that obstructs viewing of any home entertainment component, such as Television, or stereo system indicators and displays. 3. Find a suitable location for your Boom Box. Do not install or place your Boom Box on an inclined or unstable surface. 4. The installation and usage suggestions contained in this user guide are subject to any restrictions or limitations that may be imposed by applicable law. The purchaser should check applicable law for any restrictions or limitations before installing and/or operating this device. 5. Do not install or use your Boom Box in locations exposed to direct sunlight, or in areas subject to extreme temperatures; do not operate the unit in moist areas, in rain, or in areas adjacent to water such as pools, hot tubs, etc. 6. When outdoors, position your Boom Box and antenna where there are no obvious satellite radio signal obstructions such as high terrain, trees, overhangs, etc. 7. XTR Portable Boom Box
The XACT XTR Portable Boom Box provides two controls. There is a Power On/Off-Volume control and a Slide function control to switch between Sirius Satellite Radio or auxiliary audio input signal.

1. 2. 3. Headphone Jack: A stereo headphone jack allows you to listen to your Sirius Satellite Radio privately. Release Mechanism: Pull outward to remove the Satellite Receiver from the Boom Box. Power On/Off Switch-VOL Control: Applies power to the Boom Box when rotated clockwise from the Off position, increases or decreases the volume of the audio output signal from the Boom Box. To decrease the volume level, rotate the control counter clockwise. Power Indicator: The Power On/Off-VOL Control Switch illuminates when the power is turned on.

Battery Doors: Remove the doors to insert the 8 "D" Batteries (not included). AUX OUT Jack: In the SAT position, the satellite radio audio signal is present at the AUX output jack. SAT/AUX Selector switch: The slide switch allows you to switch between Sirius Satellite Radio and an external audio input signal (MP3, CD etc.) witch is present at the AUX input jack. 8. Power Jack: Insert the 12v DC adapter in to the jack to power the Boom Box 9. AUX IN Jack: Allows you to input a signal from an external audio device. When using the AUX audio input, the XTR automatically shuts off to preserve battery power. Use your Boom Box volume control to adjust the volume level. The volume control on the external audio device should be set to mid-range. 10. Sirius Satellite Antenna Input Jack: Plug the antenna wire in to the jack to obtain satellite signal on your XACT XTR Receiver. 11. Antenna Mounts: Allows you to store the antenna neatly and securely on your Boom Box.

BOOM BOX SETUP
To set up your XACT XTR Portable Boom Box.
Placing your Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver in the Boom Box is simple. Just follow the 5 easy illustrations below. First make sure that the two lock mechanisms are set to the release position. (figure 2) Next place the receiver in the dock lining up with the two lock mechanisms. (figure 3) Finally lock your receiver in place by pressing in the two mechanisms. (figure 4) Now you are ready to enjoy your new XACT XTR boom box.

Plug the Antenna cable into the Antenna Jack as shown.

Plug the adapter into the DC Input Jack as shown.

Installing Batteries (optional)
Your Boom Box can also be used with 8 D-Cell batteries as shown:
1. Push the battery cover latches forward and remove the battery compartment covers. 2. Insert the 8 D-Cell batteries follow the battery polarity as shown; then close the cover.
Note: The batteries are bypassed automatically whenever the supplied AC Adapter is plugged into the power jack on the back of the Boom Box.

Upon entering this option, two 10-segment horizontal bar graphs are displayed with a (-) sign to the left and a (+) sign to the right. One is label "SAT" (satellite signal strength) and the other "TER" (terrestrial signal strength). The current setting is indicated on the bar graphs. Rotate the Antenna to a position that provides the best reception. (See Sirius Satellite Radio map bellow).
Sirius Satellite Radio Map
Due to the paths of Sirius satellites over the US, the best location for the antenna in your home depends on where you live. Use the map below as a general placement guideline.
Area 1 : Place the antenna at an EAST facing window. Area 2 : Place the antenna OUTSIDE, away from any overhead obstructions. Area 3 : Place the antenna at a NORTH WEST - or WEST - facing window.
Area 4 : Place the antenna at a WEST or NORTH - facing window. Area 5 : Place the antenna at a NORTH facing window. Area 6 : Place the antenna at a NORTH or EAST - facing window.

PROBLEM SOLVING
Problem Solving Section
For your assistance, we have listed a few common problems below.
The System does not work Check that the Receiver is seated correctly. Check the Power Cable or Batteries. Make sure you have disconnected the Power adapter if you wish to use the batteries. Make sure you have contacted Sirius Satellite Radio to activate your Sirius Satellite Radio Receiver's subscription 1-888-539-SIRIUS (7474). When using batteries the system works intermittently Check the batteries and replace if necessary. The LCD displays Acquiring Signal When the audio signal is lost, a pop-up window with the message "Acquiring Signal" is displayed until the signal is recovered. The LCD Displays Antenna not Detected When no antenna is detected and the signal is lost, a pop-up window with the message "Antenna Not Detected" is displayed until an antenna is detected and the signal is acquired. Reception is weak or the audio has static and is unclear. Check that the satellite antenna is connected and not faulty. Change the location of the Antenna making sure it is away from obstructions, see page 8. Make sure that the antenna is unwrapped from the Boom Box antenna mounts. There is no sound from the speakers Make sure that any headphones are removed from the headphone jack. Make sure the SAT/AUX Selector switch is in correct position.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Periodic Inspection
The XTR Boom Box should be inspected periodically for external damage. At least once every 30 days of use, perform the following checks: · Inspect the Boom Box connector for loose, bent or broken pins, misalignment, etc.; make sure the SAT connector is intact and has no apparent damage. · Make sure the power jack at the rear of the unit is free from damage of any kind and that the adapter plug inserts correctly and securely. · Make sure the antenna jack at the rear of the unit is free from damage of any kind and that the antenna lead plug inserts correctly and securely. · Check the antenna for any physical damage, make sure the antenna lead is secure and not ...
