Follow the advice carefully. Keep the book for future reference. If you sell or give away the appliance, make sure that the book is passed to the new owner. The following warnings are provided in the interest of overall safety. You must read them before installing or using the appliance. Small and delicate objects (e.g. baby socks, stockings) can be easily washed inside a small pillowcase with a zip fastener or in larger socks. Use only the recommended quantities of fabric conditioner. Before cleaning, care and maintenance, ensure that the machine is unplugged. Use This appliance is designed to be used by adults. Children should not be allowed to touch the controls or play with the product. It is dangerous to modify the specifications of this appliance in any way. Always unplug the appliance and turn off the water after use. Only wash fabrics which are designed to be machine washed. If in doubt, follow the instructions you find on the label of the item itself. Place small metal rings or edged plastic rings in a net or bag. Make sure that all pockets are empty. Hard, sharp objects such as coins, safety pins, nails, screws or stones may occur extensive damage. Do not machine wash fabrics which are saturated with petroleum products. If volatile cleaning fluids have been used, make sure that they are thoroughly removed from the fabrics before loading them in the drum. Installation Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. Any plumbing work required to install this appliance should be cariied out by a qualified plumber or competent person. Make sure that the appliance does not stand on its electrical supply cable. This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it. All packaging and transit bolts must be removed before using the appliance. Serious damage may occur if this is not done. If your washing machine is in a room subject to temperatures below freezing, the water must be removed from the machine. So, the danger of freezing should be expected. Read all instructions before using the appliance and save them for future reference. 23 Safeties Lid : your washing machine is equipped with a safety avoiding the switching of the appliance when the flapdoors of the drum are opened ; the closure of the lid is so impossible. An electromechanic safety prohibits the opening of the lid when the washing machine works and 2 minutes after the end of the programme. Washing motor : in case of mechanic overloading, overvoltage, a thermic safety protects automatically the motor. Heating : the heating can only begin when the water quantity necessary for the washing is in the tub. This safety is useful when there is a water break-up or if you forget to open the water inlet hose. Anti-balanced system : This safety allows to the appliance to keep a perfect stability during the intermediary spinnings and during the final spinning. If you notice that your laundry is not spun enough, the anti-balanced system has then detected a bad distribution of the laundry during the final spinning ; so it is adviced to achieve a new spinning taking care to unpack handly the laundry before. Anti-foam system: water consumption is very low, due to the electronic spin cycle with an intermediate spin after the main wash and three rinse cycles for white and colour programs. The spin cycle remains under the control of the foam detection system after the wash cycle has finished. If necessary, the spin cycle will stop until all foam is removed. The self positioning system: this electronic system ensures the doors to be in the high position when the wash programme is finished. Environmental information All materials marked by the symbol are biodegradable. They can be disposed of without danger or burnt in rubbish incinerators. In order to save water and energy and to act in an environmentally conscious manner, we advice you to follow the below instructions : Use if possible the appliance with full loads instead of partial loads. Take care to not overload the drum. Use only the programmes with prewash for very soiled laundry. Savings on detergent and for the environment may also be achieved if with medium to hard water you add sufficient detergent for soft water and then add separately a softener. This relieves our waters of a certain amount of chemicals. Softener overflow. 5 5 25 USE OF YOUR APPLIANCE The control panel Never turn the programme selector when the appliance is working. 21 3 4 5 6 and the following options: 7 1. ON/OFF pushbutton " " Press the on/off pushbutton, the programme starts : the control lamp illuminates. 2. Control lamp The control lamp illuminates when the appliance is working (on/off pushbutton " " pressed). It extinguished when the on/off pushbutton " " is pressed off. the draining position " " in order to not spin the laundry at the end of the cycle, the rinse hold position " " so as to not drain the water of the last rinse so that not creased the laundry if this one is not immediately unloaded of the drum. 6. Programme selector It enables to select the most adapted programme to the nature and degrees of soil of your laundry. Turn the programme selector clockwise to select the chosen programme. The programme selector indicates each programme phase as it takes place. At the end of the programme, the appliance stops automatically on a stop position "I" for all the programmes or on a rinse hold position "I" if the rinse hold position " " has been selected. Never turn the programme selector anticlockwise. 3. Quick wash pushbutton " " This pushbutton allows to realize a quick wash on the cotton programme B and on the synthetics programme J. 4. Half load pushbutton " " This pushbutton allows to wash small quantity of linen not much soiled (2,5 kg) only on the cotton programmes. 5. Spinning speed variator It enables to choose the spinning speed : from 300 to 1000 rpm (model T 1033 V) or from 300 to 1200 rpm (model T 1233 V) for the cotton programmes, from 300 to 850 rpm for the synthetics and wool programmes, from 300 to 650 rpm for the delicate programmes. 26 7. Temperature selector It enables to choose the most adapted temperature between cold ( ) and 90°C. Select the temperature which corresponds to the chosen programme, with the help of the indications or the programme table, according to the fibers and the fastness of the colours. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Before using your washing machine for the first time, we recommend that you do a preliminary wash with the machine empty, as a precaution to clean the drum, tank and the product box. 1. Pour a dose of detergent in the "washing" detergent dispenser. 2. Select the program B 90°C. 3. Press the on/off pushbutton " ". 1. Place the laundry in the drum Lift the lid. Open the drum by pressing the release button A. The two flapdoors will open automatically. Shake the laundry out loosely and place into the drum. Close the drum and shut the lid. Be careful : before closing the lid of your machine, ensure that the drum door is correctly closed : the two flapdoors are fastened, the button A is released (in the raised position). An electronic system allows the drum to be in the high position when the cycle is finished. This system allows for easier loading and unloading of the laundry. If an unbalanced weight alters the functionning, turn the drum by hand. A 2. Measure out the detergent Measure out the amount of detergent recommended by the manufacturer in the main wash compartment ( ). If you wish to carry out a prewash, pour the amount required into the prewash compartment ( ). 3. Add the bleach agent, if required Pour the bleach agent, if required, into the compartment marked . However, ensure that the laundry can withstand the treatment. Do not exceed the MAX level. Liquid detergent only compartment Powder detergent Compartment (prewash) Compartment (wash) 4. Add the fabric softener Pour the softener, if required, into the compartment marked . Do not exceed the MAX level. Your washing machine has been designed in order to save water and detergent products. Please take care the filling level of the detergent products and do not exceed the MAX marks located near the display window of your detergent dispenser. 5. Press the quick wash pushbutton " " and/or the half load pushbutton " " if required. 27 6. Select the temperature Choose the temperature which corresponds to the chosen programme, with the help of the indications or the programme table, according to the fibers and the fastness of the colours. 7. Select the spinning speed Turn this knob to choose : - a rinse hold " ", - a draining " ", - the most suitable spinning speed which corresponds to the nature of your laundry and to the degree of humidity wished at the end of the wash according to the following table : Cotton T 1233 V 300 450 600 750 900 1050 1200 T 1033 V 300 400 500 600 750 900 1000 850 650 Synth./ For the 2 300 400 450 550 650 750 Wool models Delicate 300 400 450 500 550 600 8. Select the programme Choose the programme according to the nature and the degree of soil of the laundry. Turn the programme selector clockwise to select the chosen programme. 9. Starting of the programme The on/off pushbutton " " enables to switch on your machine. The control lamp illuminates and the programme begins. 10. At the end of the programme When the selected programme is over, the machine stops automatically. The programmes end by: a spin for all the programmes if you choose a spinning speed, a drain for all the programmes if you choose the draining position " " on the spinning speed variator, a rinse hold for all the programmes if you choose the rinse hold position " "on the spinning speed variator. You can finish these programmes by a spinning (by choosing a spinning speed) or by a draining (by choosing the draining position on the spinning speed variator). After each wash, depress the on/off pushbutton " ". Press off the other pushbuttons if necessary, unplug the machine from the wall socket ; turn off the water tap. You can vary them using the thermostat knob which equipped your washing machine. Always scrupulously respect the temperature shown on the label on each item of washing. When the selected programme is over, the washing machine stops automatically. The timer knob stops on a stop position "I".
