ENGLISH
You have just purchased an electric fryer "with a cold zone". Since the temperature under the heating element does not exceed 80° in normal use, frying waste falls into the cold zone and does not flow back into the frying bowl when it is used later on.
PUTTING INTO SERVICE
The fitted top is fixed into the work surface. The protective blue plastic must next be carefully removed. It is then ready to receive in order: 1. the oil bowl; 2. the heating element which you swivel downwards on its hinge to position it in the bowl (Fig. 2); 3. the basket. This electric fryer absorbs 2,200 watts. It is therefore absolutely necessary for your electric wiring system to be able to supply that power without danger. 10-amp fuses are necessary. The fryer must be compulsorily connected to an earth. A two-pole, cutting-off device must be provided of which the contact opening is greater than 3 mm.
I The plug must be accessible after installation.
If the supply lead is damaged, it must be replaced by an equivalent lead (H05RNF 3x1mm²) available from the after-sales department. It is imperative to raise the glass cover when the electricity supply to the apparatus is on, in order to avoid an oven effect. Please do not put hot pans on the cover. Please let the apparatus to become cold before closing. This cover is only a decorative element. IT IS ABSOLUTELY IMPERATIVE THAT A SPACE OF AT LEAST 5 CM BE LEFT BETWEEN THE BOTTOM OF THE FRYER AND THE FIRST SHELF OF THE CUPBOARD.
The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.
IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS
The element of such an electric fryer with a cold zone cannot operate in the open air: it must always be dipped in oil or fat. Consequently, blocks of fat must never be melted directly onto the element. CAUTION: IF YOU USE A SOLID VEGETABLE OR ANIMAL FAT, IT IS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY TO EMPTY IT INTO THE FRYING BOWL MELTED BEFOREHAND. You thus avoid burning out the element. 1. The level to which the bowl is filled must be between the minimum a nd maximum marks engraved on the vertical side wall of the bowl for an optimal result. You can fill till the maximum mark. 2. If you use deep-frozen foods or foods containing a lot of humidity, keep a close eye on your fryer. When it comes into contact with water, oil boils heavily and sometimes risks spilling over. 3. If you use fat and not oil in your fryer, it is advisable (using a knife or a fork) to make holes in the fat before starting the fryer. That will avoid splashing if air bubbles are caught inside. Do it delicately so as not to strike the probes placed on the heating element The safety thermostat is a 2nd temperature measurement. Should any problems arise, it automatically cuts off the electric supply to the fryer. It can be automatically restarted by hand under the housing by pushing the small red button (Fig. 3).
SOME HINTS
The ideal frying temperature is between 150°C and 180°C. Above those temperatures, oil quickly deteriorates. If you use too low a temperature, food is not sealed on the surface and becomes impregnated with grease. It goes without saying that the thicker the pieces to be cooked are, the longer they must stay in the frying bath. It is therefore advisable to choose a cooking temperature which allows food to be cooked in depth without burning it on the outside. The temperature you have chosen is reached when the heater control light goes out. Some indicative temperatures: French fried potatoes (blanching) French fried potatoes (frying) croquettes, cheese fondue rissoles, fish chicken legs, wings 150° 180° 180° 170° 160° Optimum quantities 500 gr 500 gr 250 gr * * Maximum quantities 750 gr 750 gr 350 gr * *
* These values depend essentially on volume. Please ensure that food is full immersed in the frying bath.
MAINTENANCE
Prior to any maintenance, disconnect the appliance and let it cool. The electric fryer can be completely taken to pieces (work in reverse order to the fitting instructions). Part maintenance can be quickly carried out. The fitted top: clean it with products intended for stainless steel. If you want it to stay beautiful, avoid abrasive pads and detergents. The bowl is cleaned like regular dishes. Do not hesitate to put it in your dishwasher. The basket is cleaned with a detergent like regular dishes. The electric element and housing: clean them with a damp cloth. The glass cover: clean it regulary with a damp cloth on which you may spray a little of a product intended for glass-cleaning. Do not spray cleaning products directly onto the cover above the oil bath.
